"A good long while. I think the servants are probably missing around with them." Alake said with a laugh.

"And you find that funny, Alake?" Lulit said, which made everyone look at her. She looked angry as she glared at him.

Alake only smirked and looked at Lulit. "Of course it's funny. You can't tell me that your daughters need to be put in their place." Lulit frowned deeply at Alake and looked away. "Nothing to say."

"I have nothing to say to you." Lulit said darkly. 

Which was true, she didn't. If it wasn't for the way Bandele, Ige, and Uncle Aremu shamed the House of Obi, she would say plenty. But she can't say anything in front of Femi because she will go off on Lulit. 

And she also got nothing to back up her defense.
