Switzerland case study

Aston Martin.

When Ava came out from inside after talking to Lily, Oliver noticed there was something hanging on Ava's neck, as everyone was there Oliver didn't ask her what it was.

"What's on your neck?" Oliver sat on the passenger seat and asked her with a smile. Oliver was a bit drunk, so he let Ava drive.

"It's Ping'an Fu, Mom just gave it to me." Ava took out a yellow bag and showed it to Oliver.

Ava touched the peace token and saw there was a stack of paper scriptures and a coin in it. She suddenly thought of something and hung the token in the rearview mirror of his car.

"Oliver, can I hang it here?" Ava asked in a low voice, hesitating a little.

"Of course, but why are you hanging it in my car? Didn't your mother gave it to you?" Oliver asked confused.

"Well, a peace token is normally given to a person to keep them safe. In my heart, you are more important than myself, so I am giving it to you." Ava said with a smile.

Oliver smiled and shook his head helplessly, then he stretched out his hand and hold Ava's hand. He had seen many silly women, but he had never seen a fool like Ava.

The next day.

Beijing Tiantan Hospital.

The Dean held an emergency meeting at noon, it was regarding the upcoming case research in Switzerland. A very few hospitals were selected to participate in it to study a very rare case of heart disease. Beijing Tiantan Hospital was one of them so the dean was very happy and proud to get this opportunity. Once they succeeded in the experiment, it will not only be a great honor but also they will be able to save many lives!

The Hospital has already announced it a long time ago on the forum and asked doctors who were interested to partake to inform the Director of the Cardiology. It is a very important research project and two doctors from each hospital needed to be sent to represent their hospital. These two doctors would have to attend a three-month training in Switzerland and study the rare case along with the medical team of Switzerland.

Director Brown from Interventional cardiology and Director Casper from cardiac electrophysiology were already selected to represent Beijing Tiantan Hospital for this project. But now that Director Brown had a stroke he wouldn't be able to attend it therefore the dean was hoping to send Ava instead.

"The medical team in Switzerland sent us the final invitation and asked us to send two representatives on behalf of our hospital by next week. Director Casper from cardiac electrophysiology is selected as one of the representatives on behalf of our hospital but I need another representative." The dean said with a smile then paused to look at the doctors in front of him.

"Anyone have any opinion?" Dean's eyes squinted.

"Dean, I think Director Green could be a good choice. She is young and promising, and a very good doctor in her department. Most importantly she can speak English. So she will have no trouble with the communication." Charlie said cheerfully.

"I think so, too." The Dean nodded in approval.

Ava didn't make any sound at the beginning, but when Charlie recommended her name to go to Switzerland, she got really worried. She knew very well Oliver will never agree to let her go for three months. He was so arrogant that he might actually make her resign from the job if she even tried to convince him.

"Dean, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to go to Switzerland because of some personal problem. It's a good opportunity I am aware of that but I think you should choose someone else for this project." Ava simply refused. Before being involved with Oliver, she really wanted to participate in this project, but now she didn't want to.

"Director Green, it is a rare opportunity. Can't you sort out your problems for a while and attend to this project? It's for three months only." The Dean frowned and tried to persuade Ava.

Ava looked at the dean and said sincerely: "Dean Davis, I understand, but it's something related to my family and cannot be sorted out in a short period of time, so please I request you to give the opportunity to someone else."

Everyone present at the meeting was stunned, they thought in Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Ava Green was the only person who had the courage to refuse the dean directly in front of so many people.

Dr. Sylvia looked at Ava with cold eyes thinking, she was such an attention seeker. Who wouldn't want such an opportunity, she was just pretending and making a scene to prove her importance in front of everyone.

At first, Dean was confused as to why Ava was refusing so firmly, then he realized it must be because of Oliver Knight. So he thought for a while and decided to select someone else.

"Well, since Dr. Green is not available, we will choose another Doctor. Dr. Green, who do you think is suitable to attend such an important case study?" The Dean couldn't think of anyone else, so he decided to let Ava select a person.

"Dean Davis, let Dr. Byrne attend it. Dr. Byrne is very knowledgeable and majored in heart ischemia. I think he is a very suitable person for this project." Ava said without any hesitation.

When Dean Davis wanted Ava to be her department head, she wanted to recommend Dr. Sylvia because Ava thought she was more experienced than her but this time she wouldn't even think about it. She heard from Amy how Dr. Sylvia treated her when Amy was looking for Ava in the whole hospital to inform her about Sarah. Doctors should always be willing to help others, but Dr. Sylvia was so arrogant that Ava felt disgusted by her. Besides Ava genuinely believed Charlie was more suitable to join this project.

Dr. Sylvia clenched her fist in anger hearing Ava. This time her face couldn't hide her true mind, she glared at Ava fiercely. How dare she recommend a resident doctor over her, she was the deputy director of her department? She was almost trembling in her seat in anger.

The dean however was very satisfied with Ava's recommendation. He believed Ava's vision will not be wrong. Charlie was indeed a mature, steady, and humorous young man, and not to mention he just assisted Ava into the heart transplantation operation a few days ago. So he was indeed a suitable person.

"Alright then, it's decided. Next week, Dr. Byrne and Dr. Casper will go to Switzerland on behalf of our Beijing Tiantan Hospital. I wish them good luck and hope they will return with honor." The Dean stood up and laughed happily.
