Docile Rabbit

Ava drove at a steady pace. Sarah seemed very happy to hear about her wedding. She suddenly dropped the second bomb.

"Sarah, you're going to be an auntie soon." Ava reached the Green Villa. She parked the car and said with a smile at the corner of his mouth as she glanced at Sarah.

"What? Ava, you are pregnant!" Sarah shouted out in shock and excitement.

Ava quickly covered her ear with her hands and said, "Come down and stop shouting you are making me deaf."

"Sorry, I am just too excited. Hello Baby, I'm your auntie." Sarah quickly unbuckled her seat belt and started to stroke Ava's stomach gently.

Ava was amused by Sarah's childishness but she didn't stop her and let her talk to the baby for a while then they got inside together. Soon Oliver will be here to pick her up for the dinner.

Oliver came to pick Ava in the evening and they went to the restaurant together. Oliver was driving attentively but Ava was very nervous so she kept moving restlessly.

Oliver noticed it and knew what was going on in her little head, he smiled lightly and said, "Fool, why are you so nervous? It's not like you are meeting them for the first time."

"It's not the same." Ava turned her head and said biting her lips.

"Don't worry, my parents and grandparents likes you very much. Besides Mom will be there to handle everything so just relax." Oliver turned to the road and said reassuring her.

Ava smiled at the thought of Ella's excited and happy face. It's true Ella was so kind to her, she didn't really have anything to worry about. She also believed her future mother-in-law can handle any crisis. Not that she was expecting one!

Before meeting Ella, Ava was always worried about how Ella will treat her, she thought Oliver's mother will be as difficult as Oliver but after meeting her she knew that not all the people with power and position have the tendency to be difficult or arrogant. Ella always gave away a warm feeling and Ava felt very lucky to think she is going to be her mother-in-law.

"You know Oliver, I sometimes wonder how did a gentle and kind woman like your mother gave birth to someone like you!" Ava said giving a sidelong glance at Oliver.

Hearing Ava, Oliver raised one of his eyebrows and asked with a cold face, "What do you mean by someone like me?"

"Well, look at you, always cold and angry, you grumpy man. You are not approachable at all, in fact, people would rather stay 100 feet away from you. But your parents and grandparents are so nice, warm, and happy people. I don't understand how you are so different from them." Ava said truthfully.

"Baby, have you ever seen a gentle lion anywhere? A lion will always be belligerent, on the other hand, it's the docile rabbits that are the deceptive ones. They looked cute and harmless but could bite you unpredictably. For example, you are like a rabbit. "

"When have I ever bitten you?"

"Of course you have, so many times."

Ava stared at Oliver speechless.

Oliver was driving the car peacefully and was bickering with Ava every now and then. James and Lilly's car was following behind.

"Where did you go today?" Oliver suddenly asked with a strange smile.

"I went to furniture city with mom then went to Sarah's school to pick her up," Ava answered but she intentionally hid the fact that she saw Sam. She didn't know how Oliver will react to that so she decided to avoid trouble. However, what she didn't know was Oliver already knew about it.

Oliver knew where she was because he checked it this afternoon. Today after he picked up the wedding dress he was, particularly in a good mood. But suddenly an anonymous email made his blood boil. Someone sent him some pictures of Ava and Sam at the school parking lot and the most irritating thing was Sam was holding Ava in his arm. The pictures stung Oliver's eyes.

"You have seen Sam today?" Oliver asked directly without having any intention to play.

Ava was stunned, how did he know?

"Yes," Ava replied but the question was actually making her a bit uncomfortable.

"Why did he hug you?" Oliver kept driving calmly. There was no expression on his cold face.

Ava stared at him with unbelievable and panicked eyes, her heart was in her throat. She knew if she didn't explain it clearly Oliver will misunderstand her so she opened her mouth to explain but at that moment, Oliver stepped on the brakes and turned to Ava. Without any warning, he leaned forward and started to kiss her aggressively. Ava could feel the anger in his kiss but she didn't push him away, instead, she kissed him back affectionately.

The kiss felt like lasted forever, Ava heard a honking horn coming from behind she pushed Oliver and said in a hoarse voice, "Oliver, green light."

Oliver gave her a meaningful look, then turned his head and start to drive. Along the way, neither of them mentioned Sam again. But Ava made up her mind that she will clear things out about Sam, she went to see him so she could inform him about the wedding and invite him there. She didn't do anything wrong then why should she let Oliver have any doubt in his heart.

Before long Oliver's car stopped in front of the restaurant, followed by James's car.
