3 Owner of the body.

When Aster opened her eyes, she was in a totally different place.

She cluelessly looked around but nothing was there except for pitch black surroundings. The first thing she did was to move her hands over her arms and body and couldn't help but sigh in relief.

She is in her body. Her own body.

'Ms. Caesar - Reign," a voice boomed from every angle and direction, making Aster look around in bewilderment.

She had one nightmare already and she isn't ready for another one. All she wanted to do right now is wake up and hug her grandfather and Victor.

"Don't be so scared.", the same voice came, but this time it sounded close to her.

Judging the position of the source, Aster turned swiftly and there she was, the girl she saw in the mirror. The girl with ash blonde hair emerald green eyes.

"Where am I?", Aster asked, raising her guard, alarmed.

"Where are you? Hmm… let me think.", the girl said.

Her voice is elegant, vibrant and surprisingly headstrong and articulate. It sounded just like hers but with some mystery lingering in it.

"In my head.", that girl said after a satisfying pause and smiled.

Her smile is as mysterious as the spark in those green eyes. The way she tilted her head while saying those words, that power in that smile and those compelling eyes only made Aster more restless.

This girl resembles her so much that it started bothering her.

She is feisty and unlike her, she is more of a free spirited person.

That girl laughed looking at Aster's flustered face.

"I am Katherine June Edgar. I am the owner of the body you are currently residing in.", June said.

"But everyone calls me June." she added.

"Let me make it simpler for you, Aster.", June added, noticing Aster's passive response. That tinge of arrogance in Aster's eyes made her remind of herself, well, her past self.

"You died. And, you are reborn into a different body, which is mine.", June explained.

Aster couldn't respond for a few seconds. She had read about rebirth and reincarnation in novels and heard some myths related to it but she never thought they were possible.

"Reborn?" Aster muttered to herself.

She already realized that her soul got shifted to another body the second she saw her reflection in the mirror. But it has started to sound more real, hearing from the owner of the body herself.

"Yes. Reborn." June said and smiled.

"Then… then, I would be living your life." Aster said.

"Yeah. You will be and God! You are gonna enjoy it, Aster Caesar Reign." Katherine said, her lips forming a smirk.

The mystery sparkled in those green eyes again.

Aster felt uncomfortable but ignored it for the time being. She is not yet sure whether Katherine June Edgar is a good person or not. So, she could only play safe.

"Are you not sad that you are dead?" Aster asked, diverting the topic. Although dead is not the right word, it is the only word she could think of for now.

"My time here has come to an end. I accept my fate." June smiled again. This time Aster could see a tinge of sadness in June's eyes but it vanished as soon as it appeared.

"What I feel doesn't matter, Aster. How you live in this body matters." she added, making Aster feel unsettled.

Maybe June noticed the tension that is building up in Aster and patted her head, making Aster flustered.

They are of the same age. Getting patted like this made Aster feel like a kid in front of June.

Taking a step back, Aster focussed her sapphire blue eyes on June.

"What do you mean by that?" she asked, adding some authoritative aura to it.

But June has remained unflustered.

"For now, enjoy the freedom you got and yep, don't forget to have fun with the well- you will know." June said with a wink.

"Hey, what is it with your vague answers?" Aster demanded.

June chuckled and held Aster's chin as she looked into those blue eyes.

"You will know." she replied and then gently pushed Aster with a single finger on her heart, sending her back to the consciousness.
