Chapter 1 The Beginning of war

How would you feel if the city you once knew suddenly turned into ruin? To see the city you once knew, the road you walk, the place you know that you can call home? Suddenly the entire place was completely abandoned.

That's exactly what happened to me. For 4 Years, I was stuck In that hell. Trap in the endless cycle of running away from danger, and trapped in the never-ending war against an enemy that was never seen before.

When was the last time I counted the number of dead humans Scattering down the street? As they continue to pile up with each day.

Like a pile of bodies as they keep being burned to prevent the spread of disease.

But the real test begins when Humanity has been turned into nothing more than animals as we turned into nothing more than scavengers just to survive another day, blundering innocent people for our gain. Even when threat and extinction were in front of their own eyes, they or we still sought self-gain.

I... was powerless, with nothing more than a handmade Spears in my arms. I hid from the danger, and only watched helplessly to see the people have to beg just to survive another day.

It's just the way it is.

In my entire life, I have never felt so weak to something I can't control.

I thought there was no purpose in living, the world was ending. What's the point of living if extinction is right in front of our own eyes? Your own family and friends are gone from the face of the earth as you will never meet them again.

What's worse... I lost one of the emotions that I possess, the only thing that makes us human. a Human. And that is Kindness.

That's why, with a sense of hopelessness. When I found myself small firearms I was about to pull a gun on my face when I was saved...

Not by one, but two remarkable women. One had long, flowing hair cascading down her shoulders, while the other had a wild, tousled mane of red. Both possessed a unique beauty that could rival Hollywood models.

I notice both of their steps and look over them from below the feet and look at the upper face as Both of them use umbrellas to cover their body from the rain, I already know what their intention is even without seeing their expression. '

'Don't pity me, just go away!' I try to push these people away

But... I don't know when, but when they brought their hand to me and asked me to attend in my weakened state. I take their hand and my fate changes forever.

[San Diego, 21-June-2035]

"Hey, Jack!" The clanging of the metal pipe disrupted my thoughts, and I snapped back to reality, catching a glimpse of my reflection on its shiny surface.

Glancing down, I spotted my friend Matthew staring at me. "Pipe 3 is still busted. Quit daydreaming and give me a hand!"

After a brief pause, I nodded. "Sure thing." Sliding down the ladder, I met Matthew's gaze, and he grinned.

I am Jack Thomson, 25 years old, with regular flowing black ponytail hair that reaches down to my neck. I have a petite body and some effeminate qualities. I also have a lithe physical frame. 

Despite appearances, I'm a male and a member of the Maintenance team for the UN force. Clad in gray attire adorned with the United Nations symbol on my right shoulder, and a wrench in my left hand with various tools around my waist.

"Daydreaming again?" Mathew ask me

"Yeah, contemplating things." I stowed away the remaining tools on the toolbelt, picked it up, and walked alongside him towards pipe 3.

"What are you thinking anyway?"

"Just pondering the future." I brushed off some dirt from my clothes.

"Pftt." He stifled a laugh, holding his stomach. "Look at this guy, the world is falling apart, and he's thinking about the future." 

After a good laugh, he draped his arms around my neck and grinned. "Just enjoy your life while you still can."

"After all, the world is coming to an end," he added with a smirk.

The world is ending.. huh?

As we walked alongside a light was upon my face, and when I glanced I managed to get a glimpse of the outside city. Former city.

The sight outside was haunting—a city bathed in darkness, with only the moonlight revealing its desolation. It resembled a hollow shell, devoid of any signs of life or light, except for our building, standing as a beacon of hope in the eyes of those who sought refuge.

It's the end of the world, just like what he said. And this place is one of the most active buildings on this planet... Or could be the last if we have the time.

This world is ending because of a plague that started in Japan in 2004. When a Huge Statue and... dragon falls upon the city of Tokyo.

We don't how but the moment the JSDF terminated the unknown statue and dragon a new Plague emerges which we call...

White Cronoclise Syndrome or WCS for short.

A new kind of disease that makes Black Death like a child play. A disease that has killed 90% of humanity's population.

If you are infected, there is a 100% fatality of you being killed. There is no cure, nor a way to prolong it.

If you were to somehow manage to survive the WCS, there is a chance you would go berserk. Lost all of what makes you a human, as every part of your flesh has vanished. Leaving behind only black bone and Red eyes. That makes it Inhuman to us human.

And the only thing in your mind once you turn into one of those things, is killing every single human in your sight.

...But well we call people who went berserk Legion for a name's sake. Because there is a sign of intelligence, such as forming their group and having their leader whom we call Red Girl.

Tries to negotiate a peace treaty with the said red girl, which ends up with our diplomat killed forcing the United Nations to declare war against the red girl. 

And now humanity is fighting against two fronts. One is against the endless number of Legion, and the other is fighting disease or WCS.

The war endured for 15 years, demanding various sacrifices to vanquish the legion by any means necessary. We even resorted to using a nuclear bomb on Japan for the third time to finally obliterate the source of the plague before it could infect another nation.

But do you know what happened once we dropped the nuclear bomb on Japan? The situation worsened beyond our worst fears. The plague began spreading rapidly worldwide, and soon, riots erupted due to the escalating unrest.

As the situation worsened with each year, humanity's extinction was right in front of our own very eyes. Project Gestalt was made around 2014. How it works is by separating human souls from their bodies, reuniting the two only after WCS was eradicated from the world.

But it was considered the very last resort in case all plans failed, after all activating Project Gestalt is equally saying that humanity was back in a corner. And escaping from their problem.

And besides it requires a huge amount of resources just to save 0,001% of our population. So only the rich manage to enter the first round.

But with no cure in sight, the dead continue to rise, and the country falls with each year. Project Gestalt was revealed around 2032 to secure humanity's future. Right now only the rich have joined the first batch of the Project.

The year is now 2035 while our war against the Red Eye is over, as Red Girl was confirmed Killed in Jerusalem by the leader of the Hamelin Organizations. Ending the prolonged war with humanity's victory. Humanity's population continues to shrink each day as WCS keeps spreading rapidly across the planet taking the lives of half of Earth's Population.

45 Countries have already fallen mostly Third Countries which are the poor ones, but the bigger ones like... Russia which is land turned into a wasteland from Nuclear weapons, Poland was affected by Russia's mistake, and lastly, Japan itself where the source of WCS itself.

There are more countries but honestly, I don't care which country remains these days since I prioritize my survival over other people. And with the internet not available to the public anymore, gathering information has been a lot harder.

With no cure in sight and the threat of WCS spiraling out of control, after 16 Years of constant conflict, rioting, and civil unrest. All remaining countries agreed to pour all available resources into Project Gestalt to secure humanity's future.

Which now brings the situation to where we are at. The place I am currently located is in San Diego, one of the many places Project Gestalt is still active. And under direct control by the United Nations.

I said the United Nations, but it's mostly integrated from homeless soldiers and personnel from a country that was destroyed because of the pandemic and Legion. But don't underestimate it cause the United Nations has over 3 million active personnel.

As I kept my gaze upon the city I was quickly called out by my friend Mathew.

"Come on let's get the job done quickly, I am starving" Mathew rubbed his stomach and made his way to pipe 3.

"Yeah," I responded, following him right behind.

5 years after the activation of Project Gestalt, out of 1 Billion Humans remaining on this planet, only 600,000 were expected to enter by the end of Project Gestalt.

Welcome to my brand new series which I called Nier Two Human. As you may know, this world is going to be mainly focused on Nier Automata World.

The main focus of the story will be focusing on Two Humans. I won't say anything since that will be a spoiler. But I will say that soo the next event will take place in the Nier Automata timeline.

This story is going to be a mix of crossover from Muv Luv Alternative, NieR Replicant, and Nier Automata. It's one of the Projects I have been planning since back on June 2023, it's going to focus on politics, action, and debate about what's important and what's not.

So it's not going to be mainly fighting, but focusing on the consequences of someone's action.
