13 Questions

That night Jodie looked after me until I got up and went to bed. I was lonely here at Jodie's place but I wasn't ready to face my parents yet.

Rob got home to be quizzed by Sharon because she had called the friend he was meant to stay with in the city last night, only to find he wasn't there.

Rob had no choice he explained everything leaving out the part where we were alone all night in the abortion clinic.

She was shocked to hear that his girlfriend had been pregnant until yesterday and that he was with her through this hard time. Sharon could understand what Sophie was going through because she had, had an abortion at a young age too.

I called Rob that night but Sharon picked up the phone.

"Hello Holt residence Sharon speaking"

"Um hi Mrs Holt is Rob available it's Sophie" I said in a timid way scared that she might have found out our secret.

"Sure hunny and please call me Sharon, I just have one question before I put him on."

I was getting worried what sort of question might she have.

"Sure what is it?" I asked

"I know what happened yesterday and I know how brave you must be to go through that without your parents, but why did you choose to hide it from us too?"

I sat there with my mouth gaping not knowing what to say.

"I... I di...didn't know um who I could trust." I told her honestly stumbling over my words.

"Ok but in future if you have anything that you feel you can't share with your parents please feel free to come to us."

Wow who is this lady and why is she so kind.

"Ok" I said happily.

"Here's Rob" Sharon handed Rob the phone.

"Hay baby how are you doing?" he asked

"I'm good, a bit sore but otherwise fine" I told Rob still in shock from my conversation with Sharon.

"I just wanted to hear your voice and make sure you got home ok." I waited for him to respond.

"Ohhh, you are so sweet yes I got home fine but Bob and Sharon knew I didn't stay at a friend's in the city."

"So that's why Sharon wanted to talk to me."

"Yup so do you think you will be okay tonight?" Rob asked

"I think so, why?"

Rob looked at Sharon and she smiled she knew that Rob wanted to be with Sophie.

" Do you want me to come back?" Rob asked shocking me into silence.

With tears rolling down my face didn't know how to answer of course I wanted him by my side, but would Sharon be ok? What about Bob? Was it ok with them for her to have Rob with her?

All these questions ran through my head I didn't know how to answer because I was so worried, what if I said yes and then Sharon and Bob said no?

Little did I know on the other end of the phone Rob was getting really worried at my silence, but Sharon had whispered in his ear it's ok you can go to her we will leave and drop you off.
