Chapter 2: Mission complete

The pain Nero was feeling was intensifying. He could only grit his teeth and keep searching for the Mandrake Plant. Luckily, he could still see the name of everything he placed his eyes on.

"Those things that keep bouncing..." Nero mumbled, sighing heavily.

He was looking around as he searched for the Mandrake Plant, when something small pink came towards him, jumping like a volleyball.

"Ahh, I'm really delirious, this thing clearly came out of some game and now it's coming my way!"

Even while thinking about it, he still couldn't deny the pain he was feeling, which made him want to believe that he was just experiencing a dream. But it was just him trying to convince himself against the truth that was before his eyes. Nevertheless, it was a fact that he was no longer on planet Earth and had somehow transmigrated to another planet into a female body.

As this Pink Slime that was crawling towards him was very slow, Nero decided to ignore it while still continuing to search for the Mandrake Plant.

"Finally!"

The monster plant, Mandrake consisted of leaves arranged in basal rosettes, with a length of 45 cm each.

On his way up to the Mandrake, Nero had to avoid various slimes of different colors and different levels. Although his curiosity only grew when he saw them, his available time was getting shorter and shorter. Now, he had finally found the Mandrake plant.

While approaching the plant, Nero observed that he had only 2 minutes left. He was already quite weak, so he decided to act quickly.

Placing both hands on the Mandrake's leaves, Nero plucked it out using great force. He pulled so hard that he fell on his ass. Then, he threw Mandrake on the floor, noticing that horrible Mandrake had opened its mouth, ready to scream.

Even after covering ears with his index fingers, Nero heard a shrill and horrible scream. Though the scream was not so loud now, it was quite annoying for sure.

Nero groaned when he felt an intense ache in his being. That lasted for a minute until it relieved. He felt better than before.

"Inventory?"

A window appeared, dominated by an empty grid of icon slots. There were six slots on a row and ten such rows, making it a grand total of sixty empty icon slots. There was also what looked like a coin counter at the bottom.

In spite of all that, he didn't have time to analyze the window calmly as the Mandrake still continued to scream annoyingly loud. Nero, who was ready to leave this place to avoid Mandrake's shrill screams, was surprised when it stood still and stopped screaming.

Taking advantage of this chance, he located a sharp stone not far from where he was. Grabbing the stone with his left hand that looked very soft and delicate, he started to pound this Mandrake without a pause, until a new window appeared.

Nero looked at the dead Mandrake and thought about putting it in his inventory to test the inventory's mechanics worked. He also assumed that the body of this Mandrake might be of some use. So, he dropped the stone from his hand and then crouched again. Upon getting his hand close to the Mandrake, a notification popped up.

"Yes?"

The body of the dead creature turned into a green mist and went towards Nero's body without warning. He saw the body of the Mandrake Monster disappear like it never existed.

He approached a large stone not far away and plopped down and started reading the information that had appeared on the screen.

Still with the inventory page open, Nero moved his hand towards the monster's core. What appeared in his hand was a little dark green yolk in the form of a tear.

"Oh, it's getting more and more like a game." Though he thought so, he still replied, "Yes."

The monster Core shimmered with neon green color in his hand and soon after was absorbed in the palm of his hand.
