71 A life well lived

Once he reached the battle ground Saito was shocked to find, Sasuke and Naruto in the middle of another battle, for some reason Sasuke decided to use the tailed beasts to rule over all shinobi's creating true peace while Naruto was entirely opposed to the idea. Just as the two avatars of Asura and Indra were about to clash a human figure appeared between them knocking them out. Saito was really pissed, he just told Toneri that there is still hope for redemption and they want to start another war.

With both Naruto and Sasuke knocked out cold their battle ended. And the Biju that where recaptured by Sasuke where released at first they were disoriented and angry but after a long talk with Saito thy accepted his offer. Using his energy he managed to destroy the link that tied them together and also by infusing some of it inside them made it close to impossible to seal them against their will. Surprisingly they were willing to forgive the humans for using them as weapons, in respect of their father and his successor Naruto. Saito also located the place where the Gedo Mazo Statue was located, once he found it he reduced it to dust making sure that the ten tails will no longer be reborn. Once he got back to the two idiots he found that they were surrounded by their allies. At first Saito's sudden appearance raised their guard but once his friends saw him they run towards him.

What followed after the reparations was a huge party, thanks to the help of Yugure the level of damage done wasn't, both Naruto and Sasuke couldn't keep fighting after being handled so easily by Saito, he did get nagged by both Fu and Karin for his recklessness after they learned he fought against members of the Otsusuki clan, he still told them about his space travel and about his future plans, he also learned about what happened during his absence.

They world was finally starting to rebuild, and a new era of peace started. But Saito still had to clean out some pesky bugs that where working in the dark, he actually found another underground organization, their leader seemed to be tied to the Otsusuki clan and was experimenting on kids trying to replicate a power he had. After he started his rampage and killed the leader, he sent the children back to Konoha. He even passed a fun year chasing after Orochimaru who after reviving for the fifth time finally gave up on his crazy plans and decided to retire back in Konoha under the surveillance of the Anbu force and Naruto's protection who became a Hokage.

Saito decided to move on with his plan, he built a new academy in the land of whirlpools, with the Uzumaki clan compound as the center, he accepted students from every nation and even civilians could enroll. At first some of the old Kages refused but after some threatening from his part and the support of three Kages, they agreed on making it a neutral zone in wish all ninja's where treated equal. He spent five years on his plans, and now inside only one headband was given and that was the one worn by the people who were part of the fourth war, this was a reminder that even with their differences they stood up together hand in hand to fight for what really matters.

Naruto married Hinata while Sakura managed to pressure Sasuke into marrying her, Saito could swear that Sasuke was expecting this outcome. As for Saito himself he couldn't avoid his fate and after a long time he gave in to Fu's advances, who by now grew into a bright and beautiful woman. Suigetsu, Jugo and Karin became staff members in his school, the other villages also sent teachers in order to make it diverse and after a strict screening only half of the teachers remained while the rest were sent back due to them having hidden plans. He also helped the Jinchuriki and their Biju to be freed from their stigma so now they can separate from each other without any backlash, he even restored Kurama to his full form by fussing his Yin and Yang parts, and surprisingly the current Jinchuriki and Biju shared a strong relationship and refused to separate until death.

Saito was leaving a peaceful life surrounded by loved ones, from time to time he will get visits from Toneri who no longer looked lifeless but was brimming with curiosity about the world. Technology was advancing rapidly after the war, the Biju are now considered guardian deities and any attempt to harm them (if that's even possible) is punished by death.

Years passed, Saito grew old watching the children grow in his school, he watched the new generation with warm eyes and his grandchildren were amongst them, he was one of the most respected figures in the world, not feared but respected, he always stood by what's right and just and even in his school rarely will someone dare to create strife in the academy.

Some years passed and Fu was on her death bead, he watched her as she happily left this world surrounded by what now become the biggest family she could ever hope for. He felt sadness but also happiness because he knew that even in her last breath, she was loved, by him and by the people around her.

Actually with his powers Saito could have being able to halt his and Fu's aging, but he knew better than doing that, because the reason why people can shine so brightly is of how short life is. Two years after her death Saito was standing in front of his wife's grave after putting a white flower beside it. He turned to look at the nine gargantuan beasts standing behind him.

Kurama: "Are you sure you want to do this? You still have a lot of time, you know. You can travel around the world."

Saito shook his head slowly.

Saito: "I think, it's time for me to go old friend. I hope you will take care of yourselves as well as the humans of this world."

Hachibi: "Don't worry. We will always do."

Saito with a smile on his old wrinkled face. Shot small orbs of energy into each one of the tailed beasts giving them a huge boost in power.

Saito: "Well that should be helpful in case you need it.Take care. I hope this will protect them even after I'm gone."

Without another word he kneeled beside his wife's grave, put his hand on the ground and in one shot released all of his energy. Directly behind was grew a gigantic Sakura tree and all around him green lush grass grew. The Biju could feel it the huge amount of energy emanating from the tree, in many ways it was similar to a chakra tree but instead of the disgusting feeling that one gave this tree gave of a feeling of warmth and protection, similar to the warmth of a mother holding her child. Every resident of the Academy city looked at the beautiful tree that showed out of nowhere. And for some unknown reason tears started falling from their eyes.

The Biju looked sadly at the smiling old man who until his last breath kept protecting his big family.

A wheel was slowly turning, but soon it came to a halt as a huge white orb flew towards it, once the orb settled in the middle of the wheel, it started pulsating with a golden radiance.

Wheel: "Welcome back, Saito."

Saito: "Nice seeing you again."

Wheel: "Before, anything I must say that you are by far the greatest soul, I had the honor to observe and assist."

Saito: "Why! Thank you."

Wheel: "You have managed to exceed my expectations, not only did you reach the pinnacle of the world, you also protected it. But now you have shown yourself worthy to learn my true purpose. I'm an artifact created by the original laws with a mission of creating gods to manage the multiverse, unfortunately it's been far too long that a soul managed to pass even the first reincarnation without creating mayhem. I know that it's cruel for me to do this but I need you to travel to other universes and go through the same hardship and trials."

Saito: "I won't blame you. I understand that sometimes, somethings can't be avoided. Plus, I lived a fulfilling life and learned a lot. No wonder my son fell in love with the stories of this world. So when is my next reincarnation?"

Wheel: "For now you can rest. When the time comes you will be sent to a random universe."

Saito: "So, I don't get to choose?"

Wheel: "For the first reincarnation, the choice is given in order to insure the survival of the chosen candidate. But after only fate can decide your next destinations."

Saito: "I understand."

Soon a wave of tiredness hit him and he drifted into his dreams, where he met all his friends and both his family from his past life and his life in the Naruto universe.

Wheel: "Sweet dreams master."
