When the Daimyo of Kawa no Kuni (Land of Rivers) learned that Konoha planned to use their road, he nearly fainted from fright.
Konoha's three thousand advance troops, led by Akimichi Chōza, camped near the border of Kawa, only a few kilometers from the Land of Wind.

Realizing the severity of the situation, the surviving Suna ninjas withdrew, determined to report to their village. Panic and desperation set in as they ran, but their path was blocked by Konoha ninjas hidden in the woods.
A dozen sand ninjas remained. Desperation and defiance filled their eyes as they prepared to fight to the death. However, Konoha's combined fire and wind ninjutsu overwhelmed them, resulting in a fiery inferno that consumed the clearing.
As the flames subsided, the Konoha ninjas confirmed there were no survivors. A commanding voice echoed from the darkness, "Leave some people to clean the battlefield, while the rest go back and have a good rest, and be ready to fight again at any time".
Time flew by, and in just five days, Suna experienced the depths of despair.
After suffering the complete annihilation of a unit in a night attack, Suna's rear forces failed to receive timely intelligence from the front lines. As a result, they continued to send out guerrilla detachments, unaware of the traps set by Konoha.
During this time, Konoha's forces grew to 8000 ninjas, stationed across a vast camp in the Land of Wind borders.

Furious at the losses, Suna's elders suspected a spy within their ranks but found no evidence. Suna shifted tactics to guerrilla warfare in the desert, losing even more ninjas in the process.
Meanwhile, Tobirama pondered his next move within the command tent, surrounded by Konoha's commanders.
In the midst of his thoughts, Chōza interrupted with urgent news from Shikaku in the village.
"Hokage-sama, an urgent report from Shikaku. All ninjas and civilians from the Star Village have been relocated to Konoha. The Star Ninjas are ready to join the battle at any time!"
Tobirama, pleased with the news, instructed Chōza to mobilize all Jonin from Hoshi to join the battlefield, facilitating the implementation of their plan.
With a smile, Tobirama envisioned the upcoming strategic bombing of Sunagakure. He knew that with the Mysterious Peacock technique at his disposal, victory was within reach.

The Hoshi ninjas were surprised and touched by the recognition they received from the Hokage. They hadn't expected such appreciation and the opportunity to play a crucial role in the war against Suna.
With determination, they raised their heads and pledged to Tobirama, "Please command us, Hokage-sama! We'll face any challenge without hesitation!"
Satisfied with their response, Tobirama nodded.
