Chapter 71: Preperation

After the group finished their meal, they came to the training grounds at the request of Mito, as she wished to ensure their ability to survive the Exams.

"This will allow you all to fight to your best ability without the risk of destroying the surroundings," Mito said as she placed a barrier on the surroundings of the training ground, with the seals being so complex that Tsunade couldn't begin to comprehend them.

'Just as I thought I was catching up to her.' Tsunade thought to herself.

Tsunade, Orochimaru, and Jiraiya then went to their respective sides of the grounds.

The battle started as Mito yelled

"BEGIN!!"

Tsunade instantly went on the offensive and appeared in front of Orochimaru at high speed by combining the flicker technique and her superhuman strength, with her throwing a powerful right directly at his face.

Orochimaru dodged by inhumanly turning his body, surprising Tsunade.

He followed it up by slashing her with a kunai, causing her to jump back.

"Well played," Tsunade said with a smirk, though her expression changed as she felt her skin start burning and she looked down to see the wound had turned purple.

"Poison?" Tsunade asked as she detoxified herself with some difficulty, showing the level of the poison.

"I had to learn more than just a few tricks in Ryuchi Cave," Orochimaru answered, this time him being the one to smirk.

However, the conversation was cut short as an extremely large fireball flew at them both.

"Fire Style: Toad Oil Bomb!!!"

Both of them were forced to move out of the way as the blast of fire hit the place where they were and began melting the ground.

Everyone was shocked by the sheer temperature of Jiraiya's Fire Release as both Orochimaru and Tsunade stared at him in shock.

Jiraiya simply shrugged his shoulders as he said "What? You didn't think Orochimaru was the only one to gain new techniques did it?"

Tsunade responded by jumping up in the air, cracking the ground beneath her, before she put all her weight behind her and yelled

"Heavenly Foot of Pain!!!"

Jiraiya could only barely move out of the way, though the shockwave from the attack sent him flying straight into the barrier, incapacitating him.

'It seems I still have to grow further.' Jiraiya thought to himself as he saw Orochimaru and Tsunade stand across from each other.

Tsunade and Orochimaru both charged at each other and began to display their skill in taijutsu once again, though this time they fell into a unique pattern.

Each time Tsunade would throw powerful blows, only for Orochimaru to dodge in unique ways like twisting his body at weird angles.

Tsunade grew tired of this and punched the ground, causing a large amount of debris and dust to cover the battlefield.

She then proficiently used her seismic sensing to determine the location of Orochimaru, after which she delivered a powerful kick to his abdomen, taking him out as well.

The barrier around them unraveled as Mito and the others entered into the training grounds.

"It seems that all of you have advanced since the beginning of your training. All of you should be more than prepared for the Chunin Exams. Now, go home and ensure you make all the preparations for the Exam." Mito told them.

The groups began to separate and head in their separate directions, with Mito telling Jiraiya to come with them since she wished to ensure he was properly prepared.

The night went by fast, with them all three members of Team 7 each prepared to take on the trials and tribulations that the Chunin Exams had to offer.
