Chapter 65: Helping out

On the first day that they were there Naruto and his team didn't really help out in the base, they were shown where they would be staying which was a basic military tent, and were shown where everything was, such as the medical bay, the storage room and the school for the children that were present, not every person was a ninja so there also had to be normal facilities for civilians.

On the second day Naruto went out to the medical bay, it was quite sad to see how full it was, there were hundreds of civilians and ninjas riddled with wounds, infections, and diseases, Naruto immediately created over 25 clones and had them start helping out the doctors that were there, he got information about each patient from them, most people were quite easy to heal but there were many people around that would need extensive surgery and medicine if they wanted to survive, all of which Naruto could provide, which he did.

Over the course of two weeks, Naruto worked on the patients day and night performing many surgeries and using up his entire chakra reserve to use the mystical palm technique, but it came with great rewards, most of which were in the gratefulness and trust that he had gained among the general populace of the rebellion and a few levels to his chakra control skill.

While Naruto and his group still hadn't been accepted by everyone they were now at least tolerated which meant that they could do their jobs properly, Shino started setting up an intricate and complex communication system with his insects that would allow the rebellion to communicate over all of the Land of Water, of course, it would take at least a month to set it up so at the moment they could only communicate to the closest three islands but that was already better than what the rebels had before this, they were incredibly impressed by Shino, the ability to set up such a complex communication system was incredibly impressive as it would be able to turn the tide in any battle or war.

Sasuke had already been sent out to the battlefield accompanied by a few of Naruto's clones, he arrived at an island that was slowly starting to lose against the forces of Kiri a few days ago and with the help of Sasuke the rebels had managed to stabilize the situation and had even started to slowly push Kiri back, Naruto's shadow clones had helped out by healing a bunch of wounded ninjas so they had gained back quite a bit of their previous strength, Sasuke also helped out by massacring Kiri-nin.

Naruto's next job would be to send clones to the various island where the rebels had bases and reinforce their defenses and when his main body was present fight back against Kiri's forces.

There wasn't a whole lot of resources to work with so Naruto had to painstakingly raise his mastery over the earth element and spam jutsus like earth wall to raise the rebellion's defenses, with the large number of shadow clones that he could create it wasn't a problem to raise the level of mastery over jutsus and with his knowledge in architecture Naruto managed to solidify every single base.

A month passed quickly and Naruto had been called to the office of Mei on the main island.

Mei stood in a room that had a map of the entire Land of Water in it and looked at the people present, her right-hand man, Ao, her student, Chojuro, the person who had arguably killed the most in the war, Momochi Zabuza, and quite possibly the most helpful man around, Uzumaki Naruto.

"Now that everyone is here I will explain our next move, thanks to the help of Naruto the bases that we have on other islands have been sufficiently reinforced for us to not worry about being attacked on the main island, so we will all start going to the frontline to fight against Kiri, recent reports have shown that the ninjas of Kiri are growing more and more discontent with the rule of the Mizukage and we can use that to our advantage, Naruto, I want you to create enough clones that you can help fight on the frontlines by healing the wounded and I want you to personally invade Kirigakure and create discord between the citizens of Kiri, the more the better, meanwhile, Me, Ao, Chojuro, and Zabuza will head to the frontlines to take over the most strategic islands, with our strength it should be possible, and I trust that you can do your job, Naruto." Mei finished explaining her plan, it was mostly just a quick overview of it as it included a lot more steps than what she had just said but this was the general gist of it.

"Tch, why does the kid get to have the most fun?" The gravelly voice of Zabuza sounded out.

Mei chuckled, "Because he's the only one stealthy enough not to be caught." she replied while Zabuza grumbled making a comment about old women.

With a sweet tone Mei spoke out, "Now boys, why don't you leave me and Momochi-san alone? I think he needs to learn some respect against his higher-ups." She pushed the three of them out of the room and smiled at them.

Naruto laughed out loud while Ao and Chojuro visibly sweat-dropped, they could only pray that Zabuza came out of this alive, they knew how mad Mei would get when anyone talked about her age so they never even mentioned it in her presence but Zabuza seemed to not have caught on yet.

"Well, we all have things to take care of so I'll leave the two of you to your own business, I gotta go figure out a way to infiltrate Kiri," Naruto said goodbye to Ao and Chojuro and promptly left the office building of Mei.

'Looks like that woman is giving you the harder missions huh?' The voice of Kurama spoke out in Naruto's mind, 'Yeah, but as Zabuza said I get to have the most fun, sowing discord between villagers is something that I've always been good at so I don't mind doing this mission, the quest rewards are quite good too, it gives enough EXP for me to level up.' Naruto replied back while Kurmama grumbled about how unfair it was that he couldn't level up while being sealed in Naruto.

I may or may not be able to do daily updates for the next week, all depends on whether my school is gonna be a bish or not, if not then you guys are getting at least 5 chapters next week so I'm praying that my school just decided not to give homework for summer.
