Yoriichi P.O.V

We have finished the tasks assigned to us as our training by Genkai Sensei. So now we are ready to go for a B rank mission.

We met at the Uzukage building after packing our stuff and wearing our gear.

We entered the Uzukage's office.

Grandpa was busy with his paperwork. After some time he looked up and said "Thankyou for waiting, I don't know why I even took the Uzukage's position with so much paperwork. Anyways, I have just the mission for you guys."

"You have to supply some war supplies to the Hidden frost village. The supplies are about 50 boxes of Shurinken and kunai each, 30 boxes of paper bombs, food pills and other pills required by a Shinobi, healing supplies and some other things." He said and I was shocked to hear about the mission and asked

"Grandpa, War supplies? Is our village going to war?" I asked a little scared that the changes I caused might have led to early war.

"The shinobi world is more complicated than you think Yoriichi. We are not going to war to answer your question. Kumo is trying to annihilate the village hidden in the frost and take control of the frost country. We are supplying them with these resources to delay the inevitable." He said

"But is not uncle Hashirama still alive and strong? Does not Kumo fear his retaliation?" I asked

"Yes they still fear Hashirama's strength. But these great villages wouldn't dare to attack Konoha or even Uzushiogakure because of that. But they still want more power so they target these small villages. It's in a Shinobi's nature to gather more power. Even Hashirama realises this after still seeing conflicts after the creation of great villages. This is the reason Madara Uchiha, the other founder of Konoha left the village as he wanted true peace."

So there were still wars before Hashirama died. This is both concerning and exciting. Concerning because the great villages might start fearing Uzushiogakure's rushing strength and excitement because chaos means more thrilling battles.

"We will only be supplying the supplies to the village hidden in the frost. We won't take part in the war itself. We are also not giving them this for free but charging them the minimum amount that can be changed." Grandpa continued

"But why did you select us for this mission and why is this just a B rank mission as this mission sounds very dangerous?" I asked since the mission was truly dangerous as surely Kumo would try to intercept the supplies and that would mean a battle which might include elite Jonin shinobis.

"Yes, this mission is very dangerous since if Kumo knows about our actions it might lead to them attacking you and dangering your life. Not only that, it could also lead to war between us and Kumo." He replied as he was about to say something I interrupted him by asking "Then why are we even helping the frost village? It's not like they are allies anyways."

"You are correct about them not being are allies. But the longer they last against Kumo, the more damage Kumo will take and would give us and other villages more time to prepare. What if Kumo after conquering land of frost eyes our village? They would have assimilated resources of the frost country and would be even more powerful."

"We didn't plan to interfere in their war or as a matter of any wars between villages until 5 year ago. When we discovered that everyone had planted so many spies in our village which we managed to find out thanks to Genkai and Uzumaki's eye of Kagura truth ability and who knows how many more spies there still are in the village. We realised we can't always rely on Konoha since they have their own problems and we should solve our own problems ourselves. That's why we decided to increase our village strength, village defences, increase quality and quantity of our shinobis and display the power of our young generations to the entire shinobi world with the genin tournament."

"I understand grandpa." It was really a good mindset. It was way better than depending on Konoha and waiting for them to send help.

"The reason I chose your team for this mission despite the risk is for four reasons.

The first reason is Genkai is in your team and I am confident he would be able to protect you from most threats. The second reason is your Dojutsu's ability Yoriichi."

"My Dojutsu ability?" I asked curiously

"Yes, You could minimise these supplies and store them in your personal dimension. Otherwise we would have to store them in storage scrolls which are quite big( like the one that Jiraiya carries) and for these number of boxes, there would be too many scrolls which would be difficult to carry and the enemy shinobis might easily notice it. By minimising them and storing them in your dimension has many benefits like you would be able to travel much faster, draw less attention and the supplies to be secured and safe."

"I see but other than rods, it takes me a lot of chakra to minimise other things. Although it should still be less than ninjutsu, it is still high." I said

"You don't have to worry about that. You can start your mission tomorrow and store the things today. You can recover your chakra by tomorrow. Anyways the third reason is your team's strength. There were not many B rank missions that will be challenging to you all and since you wanted some challenge here we are." He said

"It's rightly said think before you speak now we have to do such a troublesome mission." Kaito said with a sigh

"And the fourth reason and the most important reason I chose your squad for this mission is because of ......"

Author notes

This mission would be 9 chapters long. It was necessary for the different character developments and also for Yoriichi.

In the future the missions would be shorter.
