26 Chapter 26: Keeping his Eyes open

The Uchiha Massacre is one of the key events in the history of the Naruto Universe. A tragic event that ended the lives of hundreds of innocents and weakened the combat power of Konoha overall, all because an old man was envious of the red magic eyes of the Uchiha Clan. And yes, Tekku was sure that this whole event wasn't about protecting Konoha; there were different ways. No, it was purely about gaining the power of the Sharingan.

All that Danzo wanted was power so that he could become the Hokage in the future. After his failed attempt at assassinating Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, he must have realized that he was lacking in strength and began to desire the Sharingan more earnestly.

Tekku also played with the thought of changing events and preventing the Uchiha Massacre from happening. But there was one problem with that whole idea: he was simply too weak to change it. He didn't have any political power to do anything, and anything he told Itachi, who was manipulated by Danzo, would put a massive target on his own head. He was simply far too weak; his Chunin level of strength was simply not enough to truly matter.

Well, and he didn't care enough to truly try something. Maybe there was something he could say that would change something, but it simply wasn't worth it and unlikely to work. The Uchiha Clan wouldn't thank him, as their arrogance was a true thing and a major reason for this chain of events. But if he just sat back and kept an eye on events, he could reap some rewards instead, as being aware of what would happen was a massive opportunity.

Every afternoon, once the Academy was about to finish, that was when the Uchiha Massacre would happen, he would keep an eye out. He would be hidden outside of the Uchiha Clan, making sure with his Sensing Technique to not be spotted, a good practice to improve his hiding and sensing skills, and used a spyglass to keep an eye on the clan. This took a major part out of his day after training. He just hoped it wouldn't happen when he was out of the village for a C-Rank Mission.

The timeline between Shisui's death and the Uchiha Massacre wasn't clear enough for him to be sure, so he had to take things as they happened. Good for him, he had new things to study. Things like the Advanced Fuinjutsu Books written by Jiraiya.

Yes, he couldn't take an official copy out of the library, but he used that opportunity to test something out with a new jutsu he learned. He took quite some time to convince Inoichi, but he finally managed to convince him to teach him one of the most famous jutsu in the Naruto Universe.

The Shadow Clone Jutsu, not the Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu, which was a forbidden technique, but the normal Shadow Clone Jutsu, which was still a B-Rank jutsu with quite the heavy chakra requirements. But if Kiba could learn it as a Genin, Tekku would do it too while being a Genin. He had worked hard to improve his chakra reserves.

With convincing arguments that it was a technique allowing him to control more puppets at the same time, like basically doubling his soft cap on how many puppets he could control. But also its versatility in different situations, from spying to combat, Inoichi finally gave in and taught Tekku the technique after making sure he had enough chakra.

And soon he confirmed that the Shadow Clone Technique was one of the best techniques for spying. He abused one of the aspects he often wondered about: how good were the things the clone had on its body. After all, it had all the same things as the original, from weapons to clothes. And the answer was simple. Anything complex with chakra inside wasn't copied, like seals. But the weapons, normal scrolls, and all that were as good and detailed as the original, just that they would be destroyed with one hit.

So, in order to get a copy of the last three books of Jiraiya, since he wasn't allowed to bring scrolls or paper inside to copy the scrolls, he instead brought them out by creating a clone while he had them in his hands. The clone stored the scroll in the back and left while the original returned the original at the counter. Nobody even thought about abusing the Shadow Clone for this. They just assumed that he sent it somewhere to complete a chore or something similar.

Then, at home, he copied the content of the books down and now owned his own copy of them, which he used to study while he was waiting for the Uchiha Massacre. And they were amazing reading material.

The first book, similar to the beginner and intermediate books, expanded on a lot of theoretical knowledge of the user, giving one the necessary knowledge for advanced seals. But this time, there were also bits of practical knowledge in it, not new seals but new ways of applying seals.

For example, the Finger Carving Seal allowed one to carve writing like seals on a surface, a bit imprecise but practical. It was a good chakra control exercise like his Chakra Threads. He remembered that Jiraiya used it in canon to carve a message on Fukusaku. Then there was the Chakra Printing Technique, an even more advanced application for sealing. It allowed one to turn his own chakra into a seal, allowing one to apply a seal with a touch. This was a very difficult technique, and Tekku could only do it with a lot of concentration and it took him a lot of time. After learning the technique, he was even more impressed with the Fourth Hokage as he used it to apply his Hiraishin Seals, a very complex seal, with just a touch on others.

Tekku theorized that the second book was the main reason why this knowledge was so restricted. It contained seals powerful enough to seal Bijuus, the secret weapons of the major villages, basically the counterpart of a nuke in the Naruto Universe. He learned seals like the Four Symbol Seal and its more advanced form, the Eight Trigrams Sealing Style. These were pretty much the strongest ones in that book, allowing one to even seal the Kyuubi. Besides them, there were many weaker seals with the purpose of sealing all kinds of beings, up to the Bijuus.

Last but not least, the third book was probably the most interesting book out of all of them. It covered a lot of theoretical stuff, theoretical stuff that was truly a lot of theory towards unconfirmed or rare knowledge. Like Space-time Jutsu while also covering some lesser seals in their area. For Space-time Jutsu, there was, for example, the Contract Seal and Reverse Contract Seal, allowing one to form a summoning contract or temporarily break them. Then there was also a bit of Barrier Technique Theory and lots of other topics that weren't large enough to warrant their own book or were too complex for the previous ones. It was pretty much a collection of theories and very niche knowledge.

In that manner, Tekku had enough to study while keeping an eye on the Uchiha Clan after his daily training with his team, until one day...
