Naruto: Strongest General Reincarnated

"To be blinded by love then stabbed through the heart where the feeling of love comes from…" the voice muttered. "Is this my karma for all the lives I've taken?"

"Yes, it is your karma." another voice said.

Shocked, the first voice sat up. The first voice was even more surprised when it realized it had a body. After all, everything around her was dark.

"Let me fix that for you." the second voice said. There was the sound of a snap and there was finally light. "Now you can see, Esdeath."

Esdeath stared at the figure in front of her in awe. She had dark wings as well as a gray halo above her head. She wore a long robe and in her hand was a long scythe. She also had long black hair with red eyes complementing it.

"Ah, you're the Grim Reaper. I would've never expected you to be a woman and beautiful at that." Esdeath said with a laugh. "Get on with it, reap my soul."

The Grim Reaper held the same blank expression as she spoke.

"No need, your soul is not compatible in the underworld. You're a corrupted soul, a soul of true evil."

"Of course I am. With all the lives I've taken, all the insects they call humans I've tortured. My soul is bound to be tainted."

Esdeath noticed something was off. Below her was water that showed her reflection. She did not have the same light blue hair and blue eyes. Instead, she had long-slender black hair with black eyes.

"Because your soul is not compatible, I will be sending it to a different world. Everything will be different from the previous world you've lived in." the Grim Reaper said.

"A different world…huh." Esdeath muttered. "I guess the universe is that vast after all. So, what's my punishment? Nothing comes for free right?"

"Your punishment is that you have to live. No matter what, you have to force yourself to live. Even if you're on the edge of death, you must force yourself to live."

There was an intense tension that came from the Grim Reaper that even caused Esdeath to shiver. She suddenly felt that it was getting harder to breathe and stand.

"And in that world, you will live on as me."

"What do you mean to live on as you?"

"But don't worry, I will leave you with parting gifts for you to survive. Your punishment is not just a punishment, Esdeath. It is a promise you have to make."

Esdeath stared at the Grim Reaper in disbelief, there was a slight sign of desperateness in her eyes, but she decided on not speaking about it.

"Then, I promise to live no matter what. I will live on as you and with your gifts. So tell me, what is your situation?" Esdeath asked with curiosity.

"They've come for me, the Gods, and the Devils. I am just as evil as you, possibly even worse. I don't have much time left."

"Gods and Devils…" Esdeath murmured under her breath. She didn't believe in those beings but now, perhaps she changed her mind slightly.

"Okay then, Grim Reaper. I will keep my promise and you should too."

For the first time, Esdeath watched the figure in front of her smile. It was such a kind smile, a smile Esdeath could never replicate.

"Thank you and goodbye."

The world had turned dark, everything was quiet, there was simply nothingness. Suddenly, Esdeath felt as if she was spinning.

*GASP*

She sat up from her position and gasped for air at what just happened. Esdeath stared at her hands and put it where her heart was. She could feel it rapidly beating.

"It's true, I am alive."

A wave of memories crashed over her, everything she learned from her previous life, and everything in this new body entered her mind.

Her new name was Rize Uchiha.

"My new life, my new name, and my eyes." Rize said as she ran over to a puddle of water. "Red eyes with three tomoe? Is this the gift she left for me?"

She also had the same appearance when she met the Grim Reaper. Long black slender hair and tattered black clothing.

Another wave of memories entered her mind, they were related to everything Rize was wondering about.

The red eyes with three tomoe were called the Sharingan. The eyes are part of her bloodline ability as an Uchiha. Under the right circumstances, she could further progress the Sharingan, and unlock new abilities.

As for the gifts the Grim Reaper had given her. It was the two twin katanas that were on her back, apparently, one had the power to reap souls, and the other caused wounds that can't be healed by anything except time.

"A katana that could reap souls, I'll name you Grell as an honor for allowing me to hear your name. As for the other katana, I'll name you Shukketsu."

There was another gift that the Grim Reaper had left her, though she was confused about it since it was related to the energy that flowed through her body. With the Sharingan active, she could see the blue energy flowing through her veins.

"These eyes are useful." Rize murmured under her breath. "I guess I'll keep them active."

"Excuse-" before the unknown person could finish their sentence, Rize pulled out Grell, and swiftly separated the head from the body.

Rize looked down at her hands then the corpse in front of her.

"Ah, it was out of reflex."

Rize noticed something weird, it was something she couldn't describe clearly, but she knew what the right word for it was. It was a soul. The person that she killed had his soul reaped by the blade. The soul was separated in half and disappeared. Though she could only see this process with her Sharingan active.

She took the cloak from the corpse and covered it over herself. This was a world that she was unknown of and people could possibly recognize or not recognize her. Rize pulled the hood over her head so people would only notice the lower part of her face.

Now that she thought about it, she shouldn't have killed the man. She only sensed kindness from him, though that was probably because she had the figure of a fourteen year old girl.

Rize looked around the area she was in. There were trees everywhere and several traces of Chakra could be seen.

"There's more people here." Rize said with a grin. "Time to gather information.

With that being said, she set off deeper into the woods to find human life.
