Bounty Hunting Association, Land of Waves

It turns out you can't just show up and cash in at the Bounty Headquarters. Basically the Headquarters works on a middle man system to protect the identity of the hunters but the hunters must be registered to gain the benefits.

And it turns out there are bounty hunting ranks based on the amount of people you hunted and cashed in, amount of mission successes and failures as they take a cut of the money each bounty.

It works like this,

D ranks: 40% cut

C ranks: 32% cut

B ranks: 18% cut

A ranks: 10% cut

S ranks: 3% cut

Clearly stating the stronger you are the more money you get. To advance ranks from D rank to Crank you must capture a total of five hundred thousand ryo.

From C rank to B rank you must capture ten million ryo

From B rank to A rank you must capture fifty million ryo worth of bounties.

From A rank to S rank you must capture four hundred million ryo worth of bounties.

It really puts into perspective how rich Kakuzu was in the series. With that kind of money… well lets just say he was rich enough to buy a small hidden village dor for himself.

That guy is dangerous now that I think of it. All of them are dangerous.Hidan with his immortality and blood linked jutsus. Sasori who just escaped Suna after assasinating Lord Third. Kisame. Itachi. Konan. Nagato. Obito.

Together they could attack Konoha and possibly come out on top by themselves. Sure a few would die but the heavy hitters will not.

As these thoughts were going through my mind I finally finished registering as a part of the association.

'So any near by bounty in the nearby villages?' I asked,

'You have to pay for that kind of information normally but I will do you a solid since it's your first. A rogue konoha genin has been found running around Waves. War Deserter. Here's his info.'

The dossier held the information about a Kazuki Ueha. A genin who deserted from the Kumo front after the deaths of his teammates. Konoha placed 20000 ryo on his head. Probably to send a message.

Easy kill tho. No hard feelings for the kid but its just business. With my Kimura alter ego I will be able to move more freely within countries.

I'll have to restrict myself to only swords, wind and water ninjutsus while slowly increasing over time to earn notoriety.

So even after the mission I can still use this identity to transverse the world. Bounty hunters are allowed stay in foreign countries for a week after getting permission from the hidden villages.

My plan is to slowly steal orphan bloodline limit kids in that time during the chaos of war. No one will miss a few of them but truthfully it really comes down to luck. I'll probably be able to only steal two kids. I'll aim for a yuki and kaguya.

While stealing scrolls from their clans. With my level of fuinjutsu I'll be able to get through most traps.

With information provided that the genin has been seen staying in a civilian village about ten km north of my position I started tree hopping towards the location I was given.

As a shinobi I am trained to never underestimate an opponent but… you can't help it sometimes. This is just a scared kid running from battle. If he was from the Sand I'll capture him and send him to a department for training or something to toughen him up.

But alas this kid is gonna die.

After three hours of tree hopping and running I finally reached the civilian village he's hiding in.

Based on his training as a leaf ninja he would probably be the strongest here. And if he's smart under transformation jutsu.

To not spook the kid I suppressed the intensity of my chakra to levels that make it hard to discern. I walk up to an old greybeard that I can hopefully identify as the village chief.

'Ohayo! I was passing through to the Land of Water is there a place I can sleep in tonight?'

The old man looked up to me with eyes filled with suspicion. I guess outsiders aren't so welcome during wars.

'There is an old shack you can stay in for the night for 1000 ryo. I hope you won't bring problems to us we are a peaceful village.'

'Nah I understand. I'll be out of your hair by tomorrow.'

I paid and headed to the shack provided. Its small enough for only one person. A bed and a small wardrobe. It's enough. I might not even stay the night. I already sensed the genin's location.

He is disguised as a middle age looking fisherman. His physique and chakra levels are too strong compared to the civilians around. I let him have his final hours fishing cause come night time the assasination begins.

Another great haul.

Truthfully using chakra to fish is like cheating. I can go for hours without getting tired. I got out of the boat dragging out the haul of the day preparing to go sell some to the market for some ryo.

After making about 6000 ryo from sales I finally can settle at home after a good day's work.

Leaving behind the shinobi life was the best decision I ever made.

Seeing Kali and Jiri get cut down by that dark haired swordsman with black lightning was too terrifying.

I couldn't bring myself to go and die like them. I'm loyal to Konoha but not at the cost of my life.

As I headed to my room I kept checking my house for traps. You never know when hunter-nins will come for you.
