Chapter 2

The door to the Hokage's office opens and a man with a bandage covering a large portion of his head walks into the room with a solemn expression. own. single eye squinting as he looks at the figure sitting down behind a desk.

The figure is hidden behind a large triangular red and white hat with the kanji symbol for fire, beneath it is a long fat pipe that constantly bellows out a dark heavy smoke. His clothes are well ironed and clean, not a speck of dust or dirt on them. Despite this, the figure buckles over the paperwork like a hunch back old man, turned weak and brittle from over exhaustion and hard physical labor.

Even his voice feels tired and rough.

"Have you come to bother me about Somisu again Danzo? I already told you that he isn't going to join root."

Danzo slowly closes the door before sitting in the chair across from the other person.

"You should give him to me Hiruzen. Somisu refuses to work with others, under my...persuasion we will be able to make him share his results to a wider working group, overall increasing production and saving many months, perhaps years of time and effort."

Hiruzen chuckles under the massive hat which seems to dwarf his own face, almost like a mask.

"I've already sent Jirayia to search his laboratory and office, do you know what he found?"

"He found a array of blood seals Danzo, an array of blood seals that only react to when his spiritual energy, not chakra, spiritual energy comes into contact with the seal," Hiruzen says before coughing deep into his arm.

"He he, that is a seal even I don't have access to Danzo, only Mito has that type of sealing jutsu. None of the other Uzumaki or seal masters alive have that jutsu."

Danzo blankly stares at Hiruzen in confusion for a few seconds, reminiscing to himself he couldn't recall any type of seal that could detect spiritual energy.

"How did he learn this type of seal? When did Somisu come in contact with Mito I've kept an eye on his talent since he graduated."

"Even I don't know but I instructed Jirayia to investigate Mito and the Senju compound and he found something absolutely shocking, a journal personally written by Mito of her interactions with Somisu. Somisu has helped Mito to quell and suppress the nine tails using a strange art he calls ninshu."

At this Danzo's heart skips a beat and his greed starts to take a toll on his emotions and this shows through extremely suspicious smile.

'A way to suppress a bijuu as strong as the nine tails? This could legitimately give Konohagakure the edge in any war, every country will have to bow down to us.'

"Don't get your hopes up Danzo I've personally talked to Somisu about this subject, this isn't something recent or new. Ninshu isn't his creation or anything even remotely similar, its actually the predecessor of jutsu."

"What? Why have I never heard of this before?"

Hiruzen calmly settles down his pipe on the desk, clearly amused by his friend's scheming mind that's most certainly concocting various traps for the other great nations.

"Ninshu is an art that relies on three main things, spiritual energy, extreme chakra control and yin release. Using the combination of these three Somisu is able to erase and absorb emotions, completely erase his chakra signature and any outward physical appearance of his chakra, and even permanently or temporarily share his chakra to other people with no drawbacks."

Completely oblivious to Hiruzen's internal chiding Danzo is absolutely dumbfounded at this new category of chakra usage.

"How could you not tell me of this! How long have you known that Somisu can do this?"

Hiruzen gets up from his chair and slowly searches through one of the file cabinets next to his desk.

"Ah yes this is the one."

The title of the document reads, "Analysis Of Ninshu by Somisu Sarutobi."

After a few minutes of Danzo reading through the document he suddenly stops and stares at Hiruzen with an annoyed glint in his dark beady eyes.

"You've known about his special capabilities since he was admitted into the academy?"

"Of course, Somisu is the most talented shinobi to have emerged from my clan of this generation. I've always watched and observed him which allowed me to known of his early endeavors. Although he ended up resenting me for constantly spying on him I'm sure he'll run to my camp soon. He just needs a little pressure."

'Indeed, giving him an extremely low wage far beneath what it should be is certainly a little pressure. Hiruzen really doesn't know how to make someone kneel. How did he manage to ruin his relationship with a direct relative, isn't Somisu the child of his cousin?'

Just hearing the idiot behind the hokage title speak about his methods to gain a loyal underling made Danzo feel embarrassed.

"Hiruzen...forcing him into a financial corner isn't going to make him join your camp, it'll just make him annoyed. Somisu is a highly capable person but if you continue to limit his creative genius than he may conspire against us."

Hiruzen finally takes off his hat revealing his unconcerned grin.

"Don't worry Danzo, how could Somisu have the heart to hurt me? We're family."

Danzo only scoffs at the very naive and hopeful attitude constantly displayed by Hiruzen.

'How do I respond to such idiocy? Somisu most likely has trauma from being treated like an aggressive dog, allowed to be outside but always held down by the thick and heavy chain that is the anbu always following him. Somisu was just 6 when he was discovered by Hiruzen, how many incidents have happened between him and those masked watchdogs?'

"Hiruzen!"

A loud shout comes from outside the door as it shakes with every strong knock that threatens to break the frame.

"Are you reading porn? I came to deliver the monthly quota of fire jutsu!"

Danzo just looks at the obviously embarrassed red face of Hiruzen with the most deadpan of expressions.

"Its inadequate for a man of your status to do such a demeaning thin-."

"Shut the hell up Danzo this is a good opportunity," Hiruzen hastily whispers at Danzo before personally opening the door with a now benevolent smile. The face that he meets however isn't as happy as his own.

The usually gentle pale face belonging to the Sarutobi genius is now mixed with several emotions, annoyance, relief but mostly anger.

"I've decided I'm retiring from being a researcher, I've come to give my last obligations I'm no longer part of the research department and I'll leaving the village for a 6 month vacation."

With those first and final words he drops the scroll in his hands and bolts out of the office with a body flicker before the other two men in the room can react.
