Chapter 57: Eternal City I

If someone looked at the changes in the Country of Rain across the next year, they would be stunned, especially if seen from high in the sky.

They would be able to see its central point, being Eternal City, rapidly expanding, building by building, garden by garden, thus even though its structures are very modern, the city still has a lot of green.

There were many trees, many playgrounds, and grasslands. There were also many wide roads in the city, allowing smooth traversal of caravans and traders. Of course, there were also sidewalks.

However, the inside of Eternal City experienced the least changes, when compared to the entire nation.

If you look at the Land of Rain from the clear sky, you would see as many as four roads leading out of Eternal City, then branching out again and again to the rest of the country.

Basic infrastructure was one of Isaac's greatest concerns, thus why he focused on it so much. Without it, the distribution of land would be much less effective.

After all, the people will grow crops, and they will definitely sell the excess products.

They might sell it themselves, or sell it to a middle-man. The roads facilitate such operations, promoting trade and economic prosperity.

Isaac of course made sure to popularize the most efficient methods of Agriculture, not only via the internet, but also through Newspapers for there are many who can not afford phones.

He even disturbed many of the newly made tools of Agriculture, facilitating not only the growth but also the harvesting and transportation of goods.

Isaac understands very well that only when the basic needs of the common people are met can there be progress.

When they have to worry all day about putting bread on the table, how can they have time to think of anything else? They can't afford to even have a hobby.

However, when they have time, and when their basic needs are met, they seek more, other hobbies, thus why recently, music and art become quite popular.

Isaac even popularized a lot of board games such as chess, Go, and Shogi.

Due to Eternal City being the capital of the nation, it became a giant trade station.

The prosperity of the City naturally necessitates adequate security, starting with a river coming from the mountains nearby.

The river wasn't natural, but man-made, constructed through the effort of Isaac, Nagato, and many other Shinobi of Eternal.

It pretty much became the norm for many Ninjas to work in construction, shifting their focus to public services such as disaster relief, infrastructure development, and public safety.

They were especially popular with traders as they serve as very good guards.

Therefore, they were very helpful in making the river, a river that flowed down the mountains.

The river, however, was very violent and needed to be controlled, thus one of the reasons why a Dam needed to be built.

A dam is a structure built across a river or stream to control the flow of water. Dams serve various purposes, including water supply, flood control, irrigation, hydropower generation, and recreation.

Isaac needed the Dam, the most for power as he has pretty much been working with wind turbines so far, and they weren't enough.

The construction of the Dam happened recently, and it was a grand event celebrated by the people of the Rain.

In fact, it was such a phenomenon and work of art that thousands to tens of thousands of people watched its creation... How? Well, it was due to how it has been created.

The foundation on which the Dam would be built was cleared after two words were spoken, Shinra Tensei.

The repulsive force released by Pain was so strong it created a grand lake, a temporary empty lake for Isaac couldn't allow the river to flow there before the construction of the Dam.

After which, it was the Ninjas' turn, specifically, those who specialize in Earth nature as they stabilized the foundation, preventing water seepage under the Dam.

The next was even more miraculous for people got to see what the common Ninjas other than Pain could do.

The Ninjas themselves as they built the Dam, and they were specifically trained for its construction. After all, what they used to construct the Dam were Bloodline Limits.

Of course, it's through the use of the simplified Runic Code, allowing them to use special bloodline limits, or as Isaac calls them, Special Natures for they aren't limited by bloodlines anymore.

The specific Special Natures were researched by Isaac and then taught freely to all who seek knowledge. Isaac even published the Simplified Runic Code for free.

Therefore, the common people who came to watch the show got to see numerous Ninjas' hands falling upon the ground, manifesting runic seals to give rise to high structures.

Only, they were soon broken and built again till perfection, until the Overseer approves. Every Ninja has a communication earpiece by which they hear the Overseer's instructions.

And The Overseer was very precise, settling for nothing short of perfection. Even the design of the Dam was my by the AI.

By combining advanced composite materials, and high-performance alloys, the Dam could achieve unparalleled efficiency in strength, durability, and performance.

The Dam's design was in the shape of an Arch for its efficiency in terms of structural strength and the ability to withstand water pressure.

Chakra and its usage are truly miraculous. It's fundamentality reality manipulation. How else can you explain Ninjas' abilities to create materials out of thin air?

Using Wood Nature, one can create a forest with living breathing trees that will survive and last just like real trees, as if giving birth to life.

However, that does obey the laws of the universe, specifically, the Conservation of Energy, a fundamental principle in physics that states that energy cannot be created or destroyed in an isolated system.

Instead, energy can only be transformed from one form to another. The total amount of energy in an isolated system remains constant over time.

A Ninja's Chakra can thus be transformed into many things, and can stay that way. Therefore, the potential of Ninjas or rather, Chakra is immense if used well.

Just like it's being used now, helping in constructing a gigantic Dam.

However, the River doesn't end at the Dam, it's only just starting as it continues on until it reaches Eternal City.

There, around the City, was a structure that devides the river into two rivers surrounding the City's walls tightly, limiting access to the City to the four bridges in all four directions.

The two rivers meet together on the other end, forming back into a wide river that should lead to the ocean.

That's, however, a project for the future. Now, the end of the river is another lake.

The problem with the river leading to the ocean is the fact that the Land of Rain isn't near the ocean.

To reach it, you have to go either southeast past a small neighboring country, or straight north past the Land of Earth.

Southeast was naturally the most appealing for the country in that area is named the Land of Rivers, and it's named that for a reason, there are a lot of rivers, and the area is rich with vegetation.

Therefore, if Isaac takes that route, linking the River of Rain to another river of the bordering country that already leads to the ocean; would make things much easier.

That, however, requires negotiation, and it just wasn't time for them just yet. Isaac was more so focused on building new villages throughout the country of Rain and expanding those that already exist.

The Land of Rain had so much movement and progress throughout the last year that the Five Great Shinobi Villages were bound to take notice of it at some point.

In fact, delaying the World from seeing the changes in the land for a whole year was already a miracle, performed by the cooperation of some Isaac clones and numerous White Zetsu clones.

However, the name of Isaac's City, Eternal; doesn't exactly spell trying to hide, so what exactly is happening?
