"This is where you have been living all this time?" Zeus raised an eyebrow, his feet finally landing on solid ground. Coldness lingered in the air as snowflakes fell on top of Zeus's long hair. In the distance, a little hut came into view. It was of little size and made of dark wood. "You are probably the only god who could live like this out of your free will."
"Said the god who abandoned all his treasures and power to become a mortal." Hephaestus sighed, also hopping off the carriage and beginning to walk towards the hut. He promptly opened the door wide open, revealing a single bed and a little chair in the other corner. Thankfully, that wasn't all - there was a hole in the ground leading below. That was probably where Hephaestus's little forgery was.
Zeus followed Hephaestus closely from behind as the small god hopped down into the hole. Once he jumped off as well, Zeus's nose was attacked by the smell of iron. At first, he could see barely anything, for only the fire in the forge was keeping this place somewhat lit up. However, once his eyes adjusted to the darkness more, Zeus got the panorama of the entire place. There were swords, spears, bows, and a bunch of other weapons splattered all over the ground in one corner. Then, there were scrolls and multiple unrecognizable things in another. Finally, there was the forge that beamed with eternal divine fire. Even by breathing, Zeus felt Hephaestus's fire invading his lungs, turning him stronger.
"Alright, Zeus, let's talk business." Hephaestus was already sitting on the ground, a bottle of alcohol in his right hand. Zeus cared little about appearance either and sat down unbrotherly. "As I have already mentioned previously, I have a plan for how to come out of this situation alive."
Zeus listened closely.
"First things first, you have to improve your divinity. What you have can't be described as anything else but pitiful." Hephaestus sighed. "But you understand divinity better than me anyway, so I can't lecture or tell you anything about this."
Zeus nodded. Divine energy was really important if you wanted to defeat other gods because all of them were immortals. Physical injuries wouldn't kill them, no matter how bad. However, attacks with divinity were different. They attacked the soul directly.
However, even then, there was an issue. Ares was a different kind of immortal. Besides having a regenerative ability that overwhelmed all the others, Ares had an immune soul. In order to kill him, you had to destroy his soul in one attack, while the other gods couldn't heal their souls, at least in a short amount of time and when most of their power had been sealed with their descent.
"And I think you already understand who is the most dangerous out of those three." Hephaestus made eye contact with Zeus, who nodded in response. "However, that's exactly what I wanted to talk about, I have found a way to defeat Ares."
"You did?" Zeus raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, ever since coming into this world, that was the only thing I have been thinking about." Hephaestus stood up, going up to the forge. "And I have found a solution, which lies in the creation of a weapon. I have experimented with different ores and techniques, and I have the general blueprint of how we can defeat him."
"Really? But how are you going to create a weapon that defeats a god without having any divine materials?" Zeus asked. "Or are there such materials in this world?"
Hephaestus smiled. "It's not going to be a powerful weapon, and whether it is successful or not will solely depend on your capabilities. And yes, I have found divine materials in this world ."
Hephaestus turned his back on Zeus. "The tailed beasts."
Zeus slightly opened his mouth, then put a thumb on his chin, deep in thought. Eventually, he sighed. "You are still as crazy as ever. Do you want to refine a Tailed Beast?"
"Indeed, all the Tailed Beasts have special souls that enable them to reincarnate when they die. I don't really know the exact history of this world, but it was the land of a minor god previously." Hephaestus said, walking up closer to the forge and picking up a hammer. "But who cares about that? A few days ago, I detected the location of the Three-Tailed Beast. We will be going there in a few days' time while you recuperate."
Zeus sighed. Things were moving a bit too promptly. In a few days' time, he understood that other gods had descended on this world and fought them, and now he was thinking of plans for how to defeat them.
"And Zeus, even though Ares might be the most difficult to kill, Hera still remains the most dangerous. She can control an infinite number of souls under her rule, and the people of this world aren't weak. You wouldn't survive if you were to be attacked by an army of them." Hephaestus started hitting his hammer against the forge, engaging in the creation of another weapon. "Apollo is also an issue. I still can't understand what is going on inside that man's head, but he has definitely changed after your reincarnation."
"Yeah, he is a lunatic." Zeus started rising from the sitting position, stretching his bones. "Alright, I am going to take a nap in your bed. Wake me up when you need something."
Hephaestus gestured for Zeus to get the hell out of there, and Zeus silently complied, going back up the stairs. He immediately fell onto the bed, a myriad of thoughts going through his head. The future of this world had changed dramatically with his appearance.
'In the end, that old toad in Mountain Myoboku was right. I will bring chaos and death upon this world.' Zeus put his head on the pillow. 'However, I will also be the one to stop it.'
