Missions...

If you have time leave a review.Thank you.

--------------------------

The next day we arrived at Tsuchikage's office to see Joshi sensei waiting.

Seeing us he said "Oh! you came before time! Well, let's go to the Mission room, I will personally choose a mission for you. Since it is your first mission after graduation, it won't be too hard. I will give you the simplest D-Rank mission for you to experience."

When he talked about the D- Rank missions something clicked in my mind 'Shit! now we have to do those stupid missions'

We entered the mission room and we saw a few different teams accepting missions from the receptionist. Every mission above D- Rank is given by the Tsuchikage personally.

After searching for a few seconds Joshi sensei selects a mission of picking garbage before submitting it to the receptionist. The receptionist jots down our names on a sheet of paper together with our Ninja registration Id as she issues the D-rank mission to us.

Looking at the mission I sighed ' It will be a long day '

It has been one month since we first accepted our first D- Rank Mission. These tasks include wall painting, lost and found cases, digging the land, cleaning, etc. These tasks are only about 1000 ryos which is a lot as these can also be done by civilians at half the price.

Simply put, the reason for all of this was to cultivate patriotism and loyalty within the genins. Before sending them out on a dangerous mission that could potentially lead them to their deaths, the village leaders wanted the genins to remember exactly what they were doing it all for, ie. for the village, for the safety and prosperity of the common folk living within the village.

And for the village leaders, believe there to be no better way to instill this devotion to the village than having the newly graduated shinobi work for the said common folks.

To put it nicely, we were being mentally prepared to work hard for our village. But if you thought about it cynically, it was a form of indoctrination. The process of inculcating the village's trained killers with ideas and attitudes that framed our cognitive mindsets. How we understood and saw the world around us would revolve around the idea that the village and its prosperity were our greatest priority, even more so than our selfish desires or lives.

Other than the missions, we would also begin training under Joshi; working on our individual skillsets as well as teamwork drills to improve our coordination. He began by pointing out our weaknesses.

For Yuki, while she was skilled in genjutsu and ninjutsu but she depends on them too much, and if the enemy attacked in close combat she will be helpless.

Though Hana was extremely versatile in all ninjutsu, taijutsu, or genjutsu which could serve many purposes. However, this also made her a jack of all trades but master of none. Joshi sensei mentioned that though she has learned all the genin and chunin basic techniques but learning all the jonin techniques will prove nigh impossible, so he suggested she select a few paths before focussing on that.

As for me, he suggested stopping my over-reliance on light jutsu as light jutsu requires a lot of chakras which might prove difficult in long fights.

After submitting the mission of another D-Rank Mission we went our separate ways for today.

After doing a ton of D-rank missions, I think I am going insane. I haven't stepped out of the village yet. I hope Tsuchikage gives a C- Rank Mission tomorrow.

"I am home Mom, Dad"

My mom also returned from her mission about 3 weeks ago. Though she was unhappy as I decided so quickly but after some puppy eyes and some time she returned to her happy self.

Mom came out of the room saying "Akira get refreshed, I will be getting the food" she then went to the kitchen.

After taking a bath I came down and sat at the dining table. Not seeing Dad at the table I asked

"Where's Dad"

"He went to the Clan Meeting, well don't know what happened my father is also attending"

"Oh" ' Grandpa Kurai seems to have taken the talk well enough to bring Grandpa Mori to the clan meeting'

"So Akira how are the missions going? Have you done any C rank Missions?"

"No, till now we only did D Rank Mission. But we might receive a C Rank Mission soon"

"Good - Good. But beware of everything when you are out on a mission. Many times, any unsuspecting passerby can turn out to be an enemy. Take some poison antidotes with you. The bandits and thugs you will confront during the mission usually coat their weapons with lethal poison to fight against Ninjas. Also, prepare your ration and all other necessities with you."

Mother lectured me for an entire 1 hour about what to do and what not to do during the mission before I went to sleep. I had a gut feeling or rather a Mom's feeling that tomorrow we would be getting a C Rank Mission as my mother would not rant without any proper reason.

We together went to the Tsuchikage office and waited for Joshi sensei. After some time we saw Joshi sensei approaching, we no longer dared to assume a lazy position and quickly straightened up their back.

"Sensei"

"Good Morning everyone. These few days I see you three have been working pretty diligently these days"

"So as a reward, I have issued a request to the Hokage about giving a higher rank mission to you guys. How about it? Do you want to do it"

"Yes, Sensei!! " We shouted together as we were fed up from this ity bity missions.

"Well then we will depart as soon as possible, so quickly prepare your belonging and report to me at the village gate in 30 minutes. Remember, this time, the mission is serious, and you need to have sufficient preparation!"

I was having suspicion if our parents have any hand in the missions.

We quickly separated as they returned back to their home to prepare their own things. This was our first outing mission, and there was no way we would not get excited.

Thirty minutes later we met Joshi Sensei near the village Gate where he unfolded the mission Paper and said " Let me brief the mission a bit to you guys. We have to eliminate the bandits near Harun village where they have become a menace, Nothing more. Do you guys understand"

To which we all nodded.

" Good, then follow me. I will try to use the same speed as you guys, so try to maintain your distance with me."

Joshi gave the signal and the group began to rush to the point indicated on the mission scroll.
