Chapter-78

"Breaking news! A UA student found in a confrontation with a villain who had kidnapped a baby was involved in a potentially catastrophic train incident, which could have led to both financial losses and casualties. However, in a heroic act, this young man, known as Uzumaki Naruto, not only rescued the kidnapped child but also averted a moving train disaster, saving hundreds of lives. I must admit that I am surprised that someone previously ostracized and disliked by the community has accomplished such a feat. In other news…"

Naruto turned off the TV, sitting on a couch in the professional heroine's home. It had only been a few hours since the train incident, and he was already making headlines. Was he a hero now? He sighed and pressed the towel against his bleeding right shoulder.

Using some basic medical skills, he took care of his feet and the torn muscles in his arms. He couldn't completely heal them, but at least he could handle the pain and regain some movement. However, the shoulder wound was a big problem.

He pressed the bloody towel even harder, thinking if he was getting weaker. Did he sacrifice his body to save strangers by not stopping the train more efficiently? He already shared his answer with Mt. Lady.

Naruto was brought back to reality when the front door opened. Yu, dressed casually, came in with a bag. She knelt down next to the teenager and put the bag on the table. She asked softly, "I brought everything you asked for. Are you sure you don't want to go to a hospital?" She looked at the bleeding shoulder.

"No, I'll handle it myself," he replied, taking a bottle of alcohol from the bag and pouring it on the wound. It stung, but he disinfected it. He then took out some thread and a needle from the bag and continued, "I didn't want to go to the hospital."

"Let me help you," Yu offered, her expression serious. She took the needle and thread from him. The Uzumaki nodded, relinquishing the surgical tools. "Don't you want anesthesia?" she asked, her uncertainty evident. Naruto shook his head, and with a sigh, the woman sat behind him on the couch and began the delicate work.

As time passed, Naruto found himself slightly surprised by the blonde's stitching skill. She expertly sewed his wound, closing it successfully. After finishing on his back, she stood up and knelt in front of him, continuing to sew the wound, passing the stitches. After a few minutes, she bandaged Naruto's shoulder, completing the task.

"I didn't know you were skilled in the medical field," Naruto commented as he stood up and retrieved a dark t-shirt from his bag, putting it on.

"Since I was a child, I always liked these things. My mom was a nurse, and she taught me many things. She was my hero," the blonde woman explained with a slight smile. She neatly disposed of the excess thread and the needle. "But when I turned 10 and my quirk appeared, everything changed. People said I could be a great heroine, become famous and wealthy... My dad always said I shouldn't waste the opportunity to be someone." She looked at Naruto's back as he took out a gray sweatshirt and tied his sword to his back.

Naruto, changing the bandages on his forehead, asked, "Wouldn't being a nurse like your mother make you someone? Did you even want to be a Pro-hero?"

"I just wanted them to be proud of me. What I wanted didn't matter," Yu replied with a bitter tone. She sighed heavily and gazed out of the window, realizing that it was already late, past midnight. Her thoughts returned to the moment when she found Naruto after he stopped the train. "You were right..."

Naruto raised an eyebrow and asked, "Hmm?"

"You didn't hesitate to rescue that child, even getting shot to save that mother and her child, and then you pursued the villain and stopped him," Yu said, clasping her hands together. She looked down at her hands. "You were willing to sacrifice your arms, your life, to stop that train and save all those people. Meanwhile, I... I did nothing." She squeezed her hands and felt utterly useless, having handled everything without assistance.

Naruto stood there, silently looking at the despondent expression on the blonde's face.

"I... I'm sorry for yelling at you. You were right. I'm just a fool who doesn't deserve to call myself a hero. If you want to leave tomorrow morning, I'll understand," Yu admitted, raising her head to meet Naruto's indifferent, cold blue eyes. His lack of reaction was almost unsettling. "I'll go to sleep. I'll stay on the couch, and you can use my bed. You're still hurt." She headed to her room without waiting for a response.

"This is your house; you should sleep in your bed," Naruto said, not wanting to argue. He stood by the window, looking outside.

"As you wish," Yu agreed and went to her room, leaving Naruto alone. He took his sword from its sheath and examined it briefly. Then, using its reflection, he looked at himself, closed his eyes, and sighed deeply.
