"Itachi you have to visit my restaurant once. I added a new food called dango milk that you might like. On the house!"
The Uchiha hearing the last part got a spark in his eyes at the prospect. Telling my new friend the street and the basic description of the place, he just nodded with an eager look.
The Dango milk was something I experimented with after buying milk for Guren. While it was important for both of us to intake, it needed a little something to make it interesting.
While Guren would probably eat anything I give her due to her past. My dumbass needs some sort of flavour thought.
My brain after training got extremely bored without much to do so making this food was from free time.
"I'll ask my dad if I can go there with him. After work he always takes me eating out." Itachi responded excitedly, which made me think. If this man went out to eat with his dad often, how did they not eventually visit mine?
"Just remember my place's fences are connected to a dojo!" I shout as I made my way home.
...
*Creak*
Opening the door into the dojo my first thoughts were on Guren. It was my first time being a few hours away from her, this to my surprise is something I only realised now.
Walking inside the dojo, I close the door behind me and place my sandals next to the door. Making my way through the place and heading to the backyard, Guren's sleeping figure enters my sight.
Looking at the little girl sleeping soundly I got an amused expression. All around the stumps were shuriken and kunai on the floor, but every single stump had a kunai in the smack middle.
'It seems like she got tired training and slept on the bench I placed here.' I thought walking up to the girl. But as I got closer a book could be seen being cradled by Guren.
"What's this?"
With a confused look, I wiggle the piece of literature out of ger grasp and read the title.
"How to be a good wife…" I murmur looking at the small piece of literature. The book had quite a few pages and I assumed it's a guideline for exactly what it says.
'Guren is probably using this as a base to be more helpful around the house.'
Her body has just recovered from being a practical skeleton. So doing more chores and helping me out does make sense.
Hopefully, she doesn't overdo it.
Picking her up in a princess carry, I bring her to the house. Taking her to the bedroom I tuck her in and leave her to enjoy her sleep.
Watching her happy smile, my brain almost forgot to take a bath. My job was still to make food for money after all.
Thankfully my ingredients don't need to be restocked. Taking a bath and freshening myself up, I head to the restaurant to open up.
But before I entered the place I picked up a kunai from on the grass. Holding it up, my wrists flick the weapon forward to the farthest stump.
*Clang!* *Thud*
The kunai flying through the air eventually knocked Guren's kunai and embedded itself in the middle. Looking at this with an impressed nod for myself I go back and head to the kitchen.
'I've perfected throwing a kunai and shuriken to the point I don't need a stance using both hands. The only improvement to this would be throwing multiple projectiles.'
Investing more into shurikenjutsu in my opinion wouldn't be worth it. The only other thing than throwing multiple projectiles is making them hit each other and redirecting.
But that isn't worth investing in as it would take too long. The only reason Itachi does that is because of his sharingan.
The same goes for Shisui.
…
*Sizzle*
"That should be enough."
Removing the fries from the oil and placing them on a tray to rest. I move to a different table and take a bottle that housed a set of milk dango. Emptying the container onto the plate, my hands take the other two plates.
'That should be everything.'
Walking out of the kitchen my eyes rest on a father and son duo sitting down and chatting. Heading over I placed the plates down.
"Your orders are here Uchiha-san!" I cheerfully said.
"Thanks, Shin," Itachi responds looking at the dango in wonder. Fugaku seeing his son's expression just chuckled and pushed the plate to him.
"Thank you, is it alright that we don't pay?" Fugaku asked pulling out a wallet. Looking at Fugaku I just shake my head.
"It's okay sir, Itachi is my first friend in the academy so it's alright!" I respond which made the man widen his eyes and look at his son with a warm expression. Itachi who was enjoying his dango, saw his dad's expression and turned to the side with an embarrassed look.
"We'll take good care of my son, he doesn't have any friends." He jokes while chuckling a bit which made the genius pout with a sour look.
(A/N: Fugaku is friendly to Itachi man. In flashbacks to when Itachi was a kid, they could be seen laughing together and going to places to eat after the academy. Or Fugaku's work at the police force.)
"I have friends! Shisui is my friend!" He complains as Fugaku puts a hand on Itachi's head with a laugh. Watching the kid getting scolded for talking while eating, I laugh as well.
After this interaction, I head back into the kitchen to serve other customers. Of course, there were other regular customers that visited every day. There were a group of young ladies in their 20s and loads of Shinobi of similar age as well.
Because of the shinobi thing, women outnumbered men in the village by quite a bit. So it wouldn't be too crazy to marry more than one person. Especially clan heads but for some reason, every major clan head has only had one wife.
'We'll all their wives would beat them like Sakura to Naruto. No chance I'm letting that happen.'
As a then time passed the father and son duo finished their food.
Before they headed out Itachi said his goodbyes and word to hang out at the academy.
"See ya there man," I say waving back at the duo who were exiting through the door. With them two gone the hours passed like any other day working here.
While it got repetitive, knowing that this money will be put to use later on encourages me, especially with my future plans.
"Closed," I mumble out turning the sign over. Packing up the place the doors were locked and I went back into my house through the backyard.
*Creak*
Opening the door I get greeted to the sight of Guren bowing down. Getting a confused expression the little girl speaks.
"Welcome back Shin." She says walking up to me. Looking at this with a raised eyebrow, I suddenly realised what was up.
"Thanks, Guren, you were sleeping on a bench in the backyard. You surely trained hard yeah?" I respond hugging her. The girl taking the hug with a huge blush just nodded and hid her face on my chest. "Now that I think about it where did you find that book."
Guren hearing this pushed herself away from me and covered her face. "Those group of Unnie from the restaurant gave it to me a few days ago…"
*Sigh*
'It seems like those group of older sisters were teasing her.' I thought putting the puzzle pieces in place. They probably gave her the book after realising she and I aren't siblings.
"Make sure to return the book alright," I say patting her head. Guren hearing this just cutely nods.
"I-I made some dinner so if you're hungry we can eat."
'She's even cooking me food now!'
Walking into the house in a happy mood, I looked at the bed which was properly cleaned and neatly fixed up.
Holding my clenching fist up in the air with the feeling of victory. Imaginary tears could be seen falling down.
"Mm?"
Guren seeing her saviour acting weirdly, just tilted her head to the side confused and awkwardly stood there.
…
"That's what you are gonna be practising after your shurikenjutsu every day alright?"
Guren looking at the academy chakra scroll just nodded. Seeing her serious look which looked more cute than anything, I couldn't help but pinch her cheeks.
"I'll be waiting here for you every day! That means you always have to come back hehe."
Giving her the scroll I soon made my way outside of the dojo and headed for the academy.
Today would be the first day and with me being in class A, most kids there will be clan kids as I've said before but they're not my target.
'The rich kids!'
One of those kids in the upper classes has to be a kid of a merchant. If I could make connections with them then this could make my life easier.
Like buying supplies or setting up in a different village after the Pain assault. Or getting my hands on chakra metal.
So many ways they could be useful!
And using my "I'm a civilian as well let's get along" card then they'll be more prone to befriending me. As we'll be in the class with clan kids who are "superior" to civilians.
It didn't take long before I made it to the entrance of the academy. Looking at the familiar scene as I came here yesterday, there were hundreds of kids walking to the place.
Some of them were with adults, some with friends, some by themselves and others in a group with a matron clearly part of an orphanage.
'This will be messy.' I thought looking at the flowing line of people going inside one entrance.
Thankfully the door was huge but it would be a hassle to go through a lot of kids every day. So coming early next time won't hurt anyone.
"Hey kid what's your name and age." A man at the front desk asked.
"I'm Shin Tokura from class A-1." I immediately answer. The man nodding at my words goes through a few files. After getting to a specific page he found my name and widened his eyes in surprise.
"An Orphan in class A-1 huh? You must have a good head on your shoulders. Make sure to keep your place kid." He laughed seemingly in a happy mood.
With this, he gave me a map of the school and shoos me off in a playful way.
There were two hallways at the entrance, my class was on the right hallway as it was the closest to the training grounds.
I assume this was probably to get the new kids used to the facilities in the academy.
Walking past a few kids while making it to my classroom, it took a little bit until I finally arrived.
"K-24." I murmur seeing the sign above the door.
While I stood still for a bit, the force of a kid running hits my back which knocked me forward.
*Creak*
"Ugh." A girl groans in pain.
Feeling completely fine and getting up, I look down to see a girl with two red fang marks on her cheek.
'Hana Inazuka?' I guessed seeing that there were three dogs licking her legs in worry.
"Hey, are you okay?"
As I was gonna extend my hands, one of her ninken got in front and started to bark trying to "protect" her. Before I pulled my hands away the Inazuka girl patted the dog.
"It's okay boy it was my fault." She said patting her ninken's head. The dog enjoying the pat just melted into her touch. "Hey, I'm sorry for the sudden hit! My name is Hana Inazuka, what's yours?"
"Shin Tokura," I respond as she took my hand and I pulled her up.
"You're the guy who won the stamina test!" She suddenly shouted which got a few looks from the kids around. Hana realising this got an embarrassed look.
'Not the most peaceful morning.' I thought amused.
(A/N: I want to have the MC get two-three wives. Now this isn't some because of "love" and just because "just because" he finds someone hot. It's for political reasons across villages and it isn't too hard to guess who one of the girls is *wont tell y'all so you guys can act surprised IF it happens*. But in all not sure and won't dwell on it much as romance isn't a big part of this fanfic and definitely won't ruin it.)
