Chapter 190: Seon-Ho/ Nam Kyu

I had sent a messenger to the palace to update the King about my investigation. As shallow as it looked; the Bong's had a history in the palace as chief scholars and knew a lot more about the history of the palace than anyone else which was why it was a risky situation and I had so much pressure on me and the fact that the perpetuator was still feigning illness there was nothing I could do in the meantime as she had left very little evidence with her interactions with Hyun-Ki other than they were having an affair. But I followed up on my daughter's instructions despite my own personal feelings as I dropped the Bong's off to their home after they had endured their punishments in the palace which left the incapable of walking themselves. I had no idea what my daughter was up to but I had to trust her judgement. I swallowed my anger which was something not even Yeon could make me do and I went along with her instructions and I brought these idiots back home. To calm myself down I filled my mind with thoughts of my child who seemed to finally want to come out as I had left my wife with her birth pains and all the servants to attend to her in my regrettable absence.

We were on our way home until we were stopped by a large crowd that had formed in the middle of town for some reason...right outside of Ihwaru. My nephews were suddenly all I could think about as I tried to make my way inside, but I was completely blocked by the crowd that was growing bigger and bigger until suddenly all of these...bandits came rushing out of Ihwaru after practically ripping it apart into pieces and started destroying the village itself! I had no choice but to fulfil my duty and call in my men from the palace to try and put a stop to this senseless mess...and get home to my wife before she gave birth.

***************

I had finally woke up from my 'little coma' just as there was a riot outside in the market as planned. My cousin Chun-Ae was right, Bang-Won would really go to any lengths to tear apart Seon-Ho's little family bubble just to take Yeon for himself. Not that I minded of course, in fact why not give him what he wanted so I could what I wanted as well? And now that he was nowhere near his precious wife, her life lay in my hands as I could hear her wailing and screaming like there was no tomorrow. I couldn't help but laugh to myself, the timing couldn't be any more perfect; so she was finally going to go into labour? Without her guard dog around to protect her even from the breeze if it was too cold for her? So I began to make my way downstairs slowly with my sister's hunting knife in hand, the one that my father gave to her as a gift in our childhood. My sister Da-In...she had made a lot of mistakes, but it wasn't all down to her. It was this wretched low-born bitch that took away the man that belonged to her in the first place. She was the reason why she killed my parents as well and how I ended up in that miserable mansion.

I slaughtered every servant on my way as I tried to find her, it was easy enough as they were running around like chickens who had lost their heads, trying to ready all the utensils for her birth. Over her dead body will I allow that baby to be born, who in this village hadn't heard about 'the perfect children' she had produced for him? I was more surprised that she didn't pass on her epilepsy to them; what was the big deal about making babies? Anyone could do it, even I could if he gave me a chance. In fact, he was the only man I had met that didn't make use of me how every other man did. He truly knew what it was like to be filial to his wife and children, and I want to experience it for myself. People gave others second chances all the time so why couldn't I have one?

I made my closer to where all the screaming was coming from, and soon enough I found her in pure agony and ready to pass out. She took one look at me and called for her servants but I just shook my head so she would understand my meaning. I unsheathed my dagger again to hold it up to her but as soon as I heard the local doctor fumble his way into the home after managing to rescue himself from the treacherous crowd outside, I rushed him to her room...only to slit his throat right in front of her. I turned around and expecting her to be shaking in fear or being me for mercy for the sake of her unborn baby, but this bitch was tougher than she looked and actually had the audacity to smile at me like she wasn't on her way to death's door right now. The audacity this girl had to mock me until her very last breathe put me in a tailspin of emotions and before I knew it I had my bloody dagger raised above my head to rip that baby out of her belly with my bare hands of I had to....only to have my arm twisted behind me and and my own dagger plunged into my abdomen before I was thrown aside like a piece of trash as another man I hadn't seen before rushed to Yeon's side to assist her in giving birth with that other Ihwaru girl in tow.

I was so taken aback I didn't even see her daughter and her nephew lunge at me all together and tied me up in the corner. I tried to fight them off with all my might but they were not little children anymore, and just as I was in a position to throw them off...Seon-Ho came bursting through the door with a face like thunder. But before I could say anything, his daughter and nephew started screaming...before they dropped to the floor simultaneously with the blood from my dagger smeared all over their clothes...and the look on his face when he saw all of this I will never forget in my entire lifetime...
