Chapter 189: Seon-Ho/Seo Yeon

Hana had soon taken over the household as my wife was overdue in her pregnancy and still bed bound. It had been a week of torture for our 'guests' and now it was time for me to integrate them in our household upon Nam-Kyu's wish if I wanted this damned investigation over and done with. And my goodness, did she shine today, especially with the use of her intellect. She didn't even need anybody's help and single-handily accomplished something even my own men couldn't due to the lack of evidence we had. My incredible 10 year old daughter had just helped me to complete half of a case that was important to the royal family themselves, leaving me to tidy up the easier pieces so we could get our life back on track. Even her uncle was left speechless before he practically pulled her into a bear hug and tickled her until she couldn't take it anymore. I had my servants take a hold of the Bong's and split them up before they had a chance to do anything violent to each other in front of the children. We had all finished our food at this point and everyone was ready to leave, until the twins came running uncontrollably just as everyone was about to leave and kept shouting at the same time that they wanted to go with them.

I knew my daughter was going to take advantage of the situation but I didn't think she was going to ask me to reward her like this. If I agreed to the twins going to the village it would be their first trip without their parents. But before I could get a word in edgewise all the children threw themselves at my legs and begged me non-stop until I had to agree just to stop the noise just like I always did. I already had my own home in their village with our own sets of clothes, the twins toys and anything else they needed as it literally was their second home. The women assured me that they would take good care of them just like they always did and I knew I didn't really need to worry about anything at all. I looked at them sternly, not entirely happy about the way they had hoodwinked me into this but honestly it would allow me to focus only work better and take care of their mother more. I told them they could only go for a week...and then a week turned into two weeks with the right amount of pleading but even they couldn't ask for more as they knew how their mother got when they were out of her sight, and they wanted to meet their new sibling as soon as possible. Hana attacked my face with kisses and Hyuk commanded me to take good care of his mother. My heart warmed at the sight of both of them as I promised to take them to choose their horses as soon as they came home, something they had both been on my case about as they had learnt horse riding from the palace long enough. The looks on their little faces were all the motivation I needed to carry on working in the palace for as long as I have done and would have to continue to do until we had achieved our goals and I could raise my family peacefully like a normal father. I never thought I could even begin to dream of becoming one but now it was a focal point in my life, the most important thing to me. As for Yeon...well it didn't matter to me if she was my wife or not, she still belonged to me entirely.

I retired to my study where I had to take care of a few things before I returned to my wife who I hadn't seen properly for a few days. I had just sat down before I noticed a note of instructions left to me by my daughter. I did tell her that I trusted her and she hadn't let me down so far so I guess I had no option but to follow through with what she wanted to happen next.

My heart soared when I saw the smile on his face as he came through to my wing and looked like he was in a daze. I asked him what I had missed out on and he wasted no time in telling me what had happened. I was immediately in hysterics as it was very rare for him to be in a mood like this, not even had seen it in all the years I had known him. My mind went back to how excited my son was when he came back from military camp and I almost wet myself with laughter before my husband thanked me for the chidden he made me give him as if had a choice, not that I would have changed it for anything for the world. I was so incredibly happy that he was starting to be at eace with himself and his past a lot more ever since we had them and they had changed him a lot for the better. I just kissed him back and asked him what he had planned for this one since our twins had now set the standards pretty high and I warned him that all of our children may not be the same. I knew that had stumped him for a while but I made a point that since he insisted on getting me pregnant again after almost a decade which was a miracle in itself already that he didn't have the right to complain even if we were stuck with the devil's child himself...and with that he just turned around in my bed, unable to face me as I planted my obnoxious kisses on him and held onto him as I slept.
