Call.

It has been a while since V, Ron and Tony were standing beside a long demolished house, V has been walking from one corner of the house to another and this was getting to Ron's nerves as he could not stand it anymore and complained.

"Why are you doing this, you should just sit down aren't your legs aching by now," he said. Since they came out from the hospital base and had sought shelter under this half-demolished house, V has been walking from one corner to the other.

"Why should I? What if she did not accept them, what if they do not like the pattern our base is working?" V asked Ron.

"Then they should just fuck off, who cares whether they join or not after all we have been surviving without them all this while now," Ron said while crossing his arms over his chest.

"You won't understand anything, if have someone like him as an ally or something of that sort, that will increase the chance of us surviving a hellish world like the one we are in, trust me if supernatural beings are not important then imagine what would have happened if we don't have something like the alien spear with us?"

Thinking about this, Ron knows that V was right, if not because of the supernatural spear they had stumbled upon while running away from zombies, their lives would have been long over starting from the day the apocalypse broke out. He was only bothered that they might make a huge mistake if they happened to bring the wrong people to the base.

"Fine, I know they are important, but I'm only worried about the future, what will happen if they decided to join us are they even strong enough to stop the beast tide," while Ron said this, he felt pain from behind, it was Tony that just slapped him on his head.

"What can I say, after you were asleep when they faced off those beasts and by the way, weren't you even here when he killed the other beast effortlessly, even at that, something is telling me that was not even up to what they can do," Tony said.

"Yeah, like I can trust your stupid intuition," Ron mocked Tony and then looked at V. "Whatever you are doing, remember that this base has many lives living in it, any slight mistake will claim them, inviting a superhuman into our base is still a stupid idea to me even though she supported it," Ron said with a serious face.

V understand what and why Ron was being like this, but what else can they do? Their base has been a little bit peaceful after they settled in it but now it was becoming something else and they need help. Just like that, V's mind drift back to what had happened after he met Nate for the second time.

It was already mandatory that they will report back to Lily on the condition outside since he and his group of friends were the only people brave enough to go out from the forest to hunt.

After their normal reports, V was meant to leave the room after that so Lily could stay back, but he stayed back and started the conversation with her.

"What do you mean by you invited them!" She suddenly shouted at V. "Do you know how many lives you can put in danger by that? You can't just go around inviting people because you think they are strong, I thought it was made clear that their types are should be kept off the base why will you go out and invite yourself," Lily was beyond angry at V, they are rules that have been set in the base and V was flouting one of them.

"I know that where we are might be calm now but I'm telling you the danger out there is a matter of time for it to head this way and we need strong people, we need an ally to survive....," V tried to reason with Lily but she cut him off.

"The spear, what have you been doing with them, aren't they enough to protect us or do you now don't believe in yourself anymore?" Lily asked but V kept silent for a moment before eventually replying.

"Based on what I saw outside, this spear might be strong but not enough," V pulled out the spear from the bag and placed it on her table and left the office.

Lily did not bother to call him back as she started thinking of what might have made V so much want to invite a superhuman to their base.

Just like that, life carried on and V and his friends never returned to the Panama metropolis, and hunt within the base forest.

One good thing about their base is that they hardly see any zombies since they lived in an abandoned hospital in the forest, regardless, some mutated animals still pay visits but they were dealt with soon and their numbers decrease tremendously, this made the hospital base a much peaceful place, however, those days soon ended when the rain came.

As the rain carried on for some days, that was when the troubles started, the beast tide started to appear and attacks the base.

At first, they were able to fend off the beast with the help of the guns and the alien spear but things were getting worse, every day, more beasties will come and their numbers were always larger than the previous ones and when counterattacking them, they found out that their strengths were increasing by the day and soon they started losing lives of fighters while more injured people were being brought back from the front like.

Regardless, those that have been fighting under the rain were finding it surprising that they could take on the beasts, those that were injured were healing up to a speed impossible for a normal but no one has the time to think about the cause of this since they were preoccupied with the war against the beasts.

However, even at that, they were still losing against the beast, they were not given any time to rest because sometimes the beasts will attack even before the time they usually do. Of course, V and his friends were also in the war are among one those that were injured in the fight but luckily they were recovering fast.

The battle has gotten to a point where they lost hope, but they still choose to fight, but as if God had decided to have mercy on them, the rain stopped and so did the beast wave.

It was at this point Lily realized that the spear was not enough, they need a superhuman with them and she walked up to V who was being nursed in one of the hospital rooms.

"I'm sorry I never believed you, all the people that died, it's my fault, maybe I should have conceded your idea, so please anytime you see them again, just give them anything they want if they will join our base," Lily teared up as she hugged V who was laying on the hospital bed.

V could only pet her hair in silence as he started thinking of what to offer.

V was still lost in his thoughts when he heard Tony calling out for him.

"They are here," Tony said as they all looked out from the window to see Nate accompanied by six other people, they recognized four but the other two, they haven't seen before.

"Thank you so much for answering my call, I really appreciate it," V said almost bowing down to Nate.
