My World Now

This is my first attempt at a story. Even if no one read it I am having fun. It’s a story about a women who finds herself in a world unknown. The sky is purple and the Elves hang out in the trees to the south waiting to attack and eat you alive. This is a chapter sample Village My red wings blend well in the dark sky. This is a small village, if you can call it that, not even fifty houses. The village is on a small hill. The roofs are a light blue grass and the walls are an orange stone. There are no walls encasing the town. There are a few rows of a purple flower surrounding the village. The leafs are blue with red vines through them. These are flowers that give off a perfume that the beasts don't like. The flowers also surround part of the field that has creatures that walk on two legs. They look something like dinosaurs/large chickens with no feathers, and skin like an elephant. They are used like horses. The grass is a light blue and reaches to the forest. Not a person can be seen in the village. Not a light in any of the houses. "When darkness comes all babies should be in bed cause monsters play at night." I laugh at myself and dive. A red light lances through the sky from the column on the nearest corner of the village just missing me "Now that pisses me off," I say out loud, and let loose a black flame from my mouth. The flame hits the column. Then I let loose another. This time I hear a scream as the house I aim at bursts into flames. I blast house after house.

Wizzal Restores Bilge Town

It doesn't take long for me to get back to the House of Yotal. I'd left the door wide open when I left. The moon is high in the sky as I walk through the outer courtyard and into the inner courtyard with purpose ignoring the burnt body's as I past them.

I entered into the overgrown garden. Dead bushes can be seen everywhere and look like they are being strangled by vines. The stone path is cracked and grass can be seen growing through them. An old tree looks twisted and bare of leaves strangled by vines that climb up it. I round the corner and see the statue glowing white in the moon light.

The grass and bushes are up past the statues waist. Vines climb up it so you can barely see anything below its shoulders. The head is nowhere to be seen. I can see a long jagged cut that looks like someone has taken a weapon to it.

I walk around it to the back. A tree is behind it. The vines are so thick I can't even see the statue and if I hadn't seen the stairs earlier they would have been completely hidden under the vines in the dark. I walk down the steps, the statue is right above my head and in front of me is a pair of stone doors. I smile and change form. My skin turns blue, my hair turns green, the ears start to stretch and become points. I place my hand on the stone doors and close my eyes. Using earth magic I send power into the stone and I hear a snap followed by scraping noise as the latch breaks and the door slide open.

I walk into the vault and light crystals come to life as they line the walls. There are bags of coins everywhere. Swords glowing with magic. I look over to the side wall and I see shelves of scrolls going all the way down the wall. I walk over past a suit of magical armor and pick one up. They are old and in a language I do not know. I put it back and walk over to a chest. On opening it I find its full of Ice crystals. I open chest after chest from gold to Shine crystals each chest is full of one item. Swords, axes, knifes all magically imbued. Capes and dresses glowing with magic power.

Over two hundred years of gifts and the treasures given to the House of Yotal after the Dark War. Rings with markings of protection and spells of all kinds spread out around me there is a door in the corner but I save that for later. I start to collect all the riches around me and store them in my Void bag. Dawn is fast approaching as I empty the last of the riches into my Void bag. Then I head into the second room.

When I enter I'm in for a surprise. I'm looking at a room full of sorted crystals from Shine to Water the cases cover all the walls but the back one, each row is labeled. I walk to the back wall and take a look at what appears to be a magical device. The device is hooked into the wall and lines of glowing magic radiates outward. One line corresponding to one of the crystal colors. I walk over to the stacks of crystals and pick up a Lightning crystal. I drop it into the hole corresponding to the energy line. The line starts to glow and so do the other holes as if they to are waiting for a crystal.

I put one in each hole and the whole device starts to glow and balls of colored light shoots down the power lines and out of sight. Making a decision I reach into my Space bag.

Inside the Bag

I find myself behind the barrier and all around me are the freed Cawlway. I ignore them and walk over to the baskets full of bands. I make sure all 11 knifes are in the baskets before placing them in the Void bag.

Before I take flight I turn towards the Cawlway and say, "I've no use for you at this time." My shape begins to change before their eyes and many take a step back. I reach into my Void bag and pull out a parchment with a lead stick. I pass it to the nearest Cawlway and say, "Next time I return if you make a list I can see about getting what you need." I open my wings and jump into the sky vanishing in the coming day.

I head straight for the trapdoor high above them. No sooner do I land on the floor above I head to Wizzal's lab. My tail hitting the door shut as I leave the room. Neens and Rayba are nowhere to be seen as I enter the lab. I walk through the lab and come to a small side room where I see Wizzal fast asleep. I reach into my Void bag and pull out a bucket full of cold water. Holding onto the bottom and handle I dump it over the sleeping Wizzal. He looks like a wet rat as he sits up in his bed coughing. His hand bar mustache drooping. "What the f*ck," he yells as I stand there laughing bucket in hand. He fumbles for his glasses on the table next to the now wet bed and puts his glasses back on his nose. I put the empty bucket back in my Void bag and take his hand while reaching toward my Space bag.

Outside the Bag

Wizzal lands hard on his butt and growns saying, "Not only was that rude, but I can't see what could possibly be so important you would wake me up at this hour and in such a matter. I'm sure it amused you but I had just gotten asleep a few hours ago." He doesn't even seem to think I'm worth getting angry at anymore. I must say I'm actually disappointed.

I point towards the wall and he jumps up holding his butt as he limps over to it. He starts pulling things out of his Void bag looking excited. I walk out of the vault and watch the rest of the sunrise. After a few hours I go back into the room and watch as Wizzal is feeding the machine stone after stone looking excited. He is looking at a hologram in the center of the room that wasn't there before.

I get closer and see it's a diagram of the city and 3/4 of the city as well as the House of Yotal is lit up green the rest is red and one spot is orange. As I watch the orange spot turns green and one red section turns orange. I look over at Wizzal and ask, "So what is happening." He is smiling as he continues to feed crystals to the machine and he says, "I had no idea you were going to bring me to play with the Magical Ray Generator of Bilge Town."

I look at him and ask, "Why are you wasting all those crystals repairing a town? What use does this have?" He doesn't even look at me as he says, "This happens to be a Fantastic device and one of a kind. One of the last pieces of an ancient civilization. Also you do realize this is a town named Bilge and it's nowhere near water.

That Crevice never had any water. It was made cause of an ancient earth shake over 10,000 years ago. Once this Magical Ray Generator is fully functioning again, if the tales are correct I maybe able to release the only flying airship known. It's was last seen before the Dark War Over 200 years ago. The technology has been lost sense the death of the Larvar people over 1000 years ago.

If I could study that then I maybe able to unlock ancient magical techniques lost for thousands of years. This is incredible if I can get ahold of the scrolls of the ancient Larvar people I'll be able to die a happy man. They are said to be hidden in this town."

I look at him and reach into my Void bag pulling out one of the scrolls I found, opening it up and looking at the strange writing I turn it to him and say, "Is this one? I've got loads of them I found." He looks at it in surprise and turns around trying to grab it out of my hand as he says, "Yes" I roll it back up and say. "Once we get the airship I'll make these available to you."

I look around realizing Liege Yotal probably couldn't get in here that's why in his anger he removed the head of the statue. If he could this place would have been stripped bare like the rest of the place. I leave the vault and take to the skies in the early morning light. I watch as cracks vanish from the stone buildings and stones that have crumbled over the years spring back to their rightful place. The city is still silent in the early morning as the whole city is teaming with magic.

By the time Wizzal has finished fixing the city over half of the stockpile of crystals are gone and the hologram changes pictures. It shows a silver beam of light that strikes the side wall where the now empty crates of crystals lay. I walk over and look at the wall where the crystal light touches. There I see a small hole where it looks like a crystal can be inserted. It takes me a few minutes to find a moon crystal the right size. I walk over to the wall and insert the crystal. The wall opens up. The pile of crates fall down the stairs that have just appeared.

The name Bilge part one

I had the perfect name for this town but didn’t write it down. So after consulting a thesaurus trying to find the word I came up with I gave up and chose this.

Why would Bilge show up under root cellar? That’s when I remembered a neat story. Years ago when slaves were coming from England to the Americas they would load the bottoms of their boats with cobblestone so the boats were heavy enough to handle the journey.
