The Event

"Hey bro!... I'm hungry". Azalea is brushing her hand to her stomach.

"Wait here, I'll get you some food". He was about to walk away when his sister pulled him back.

"No need, just tell me where they serve the food and I'll take care of myself".

"Are you sure?". Carlton felt unease about his sister's idea.

She just nod at him. She don't want to trouble him with some petty things like food plus the fact that he is supposed to be with Lindy's side not hers.

"By the way, where's Lindy?".

"Ahhmm". Carlton doesn't really know exactly where his girlfriend is. Lindy just told him to look after his big sis and she will just going to find his cousin.

"She's probably with her other friends". He don't want to tell his sister what they were up to but he don't want to lie either. What he said is not a direct lie anyway.

"Ah, ok". Azalea always believes in her brother's words.

"So, are you going to look for her or go to eat with me?".

"Hhhmmm... I'll go with the first choice." And he smiled slyly.

Carlton's mischievous smile stunned Azalea for a moment. 'Are these two cooking something up for her again?'. She brushed the idea quickly she's too hungry to care. She heads out and try to find the buffet table.

'God this place is huge'. She thought while walking around for a couple of minutes. She's probably walking for several minutes more when she found what she's looking for. Her eyes glow when she stands in front of the table with full of delicious foods and desserts. A very mouthwatering scene for a glutton girl like her. 'This is heaven!'.

Without a care in her sorroundings. She started to dig in the food. One by one she tasted each dish and compared one dish from another. There are dishes that she knows and the others are new to her taste buds. Unaware of her actions she was attracting a lot of attention.

"Who is that woman?... The party isn't really starting yet but she's already eating." An older chubby madame said looking at her with disdain.

"Is she even invited in this occasion?". The other old socialite scoff her.

The commotion is getting bigger without Azalea's knowledge. It even caught the attention of Liam Jack Trumps Shin. The eldest grandson of the Shin family.

They own this establishment and right now they are hosting the birthday celebration of the Son's youngest miss.

'Someone is already eating dinner in the buffet table'. That's what he heard.

Out of curiosity he headed there to see who it was. And to his astonishment he saw a little lady, helping herself with all the food and eating as if she has a hole in her stomach that cannot be filled. He had never seen someone who can eat like this specially a woman.

Azalea is downing a lot of attention right now but she don't care she's busy filling her stomach.

A look of disdain is filling the eyes of some guest. But some are quite amazed. They've never seen a very small woman who can eat like her. She can actually eat almost anything in the table.

The scene didn't scape the sharp eyes and ears of Mrs. Leda Son.

'Someone is causing a commotion in the buffet table'. She got worried. 'Did a poor hungry person slips inside this place and start to eat the food for the guests?'. She's guessing wildly in her mind.

She hurriedly went to the place to see who is causing the commotion and to her dismay she saw a very familiar face.

"Azalea!!!". Mrs. Son' s face wrinkled so much in anger. "What are you doing here?". Her face is turning red.

Azalea was stunned. 'Ooppss. busted.' This words rushef to her brain.

"Oh.... good evening Auntie". She paused and swallow the remaining food inside her mouth. "Ahhhmmm, I'm just here for the food". Then she flashed a silly smile.

Mrs. Son wants to lash out and kill her where she stands but of course she can't. A lot of eyes are watching her. Almost all of the renowned people are here right now. What will they think of her if she stoned her to death with her vicious words.

'This woman have no shame at all. She is not even invited here but still she just appeared out of nowhere and eat. The celebration hasn't really starting yet'. Inside Mrs. Son's brain she is cursing Azalea. The anger that she is feeling right now is almost beyond her limit but she cannot just explode here she must hold it in for now.

"Azalea, would you mind removing yourself out of this place". It sounded like more of a command than a request.

"Gladly Auntie". And she gave her, her sweetest smile. 'At least i'm full'. She thought happily.

Jack's brows furrowed. 'What an odd woman, she is being kicked out but she seems to be happy.' Then he froze.' And when did I care about other people's businesses?'.

"She's staying". A deep voice just suddenly appeared out of nowhere. "She needs to be here for her sister". Charles is using a very serious tone with authority and Leda knew if her husband is using this kind of tone she cannot retaliate. She need to step back if she wants to end this occasion in a good way.

"If anyone is hungry, you can start eating". Charles looked at her daughter with an apologetic gaze. Then turned to leave.

"But Charles, it's not yet.."

"Stopped your nonsense!". Charles hissed.

Leda didn't finish her words anymore. She knows, he is starting to get piss. 'Just because of that stupid woman. I will make sure you'll regret this.' She silently warned her.

An old pair of eyes are watching the entire scene. 'She is a kind child, in deed.' He sigh. 'Can I take her now, my dear friend?'. The old man is talking to the air.

'So, she is also his daughter but not hers.' Jack is talking to himself. 'What an odd family.'

On the other side of the hall. Lindy is rushing to her friend and she is almost running. She heard that Aunt Leda found Azalea in the buffet table and a commotion is occurred.

'Damn, I told her I'll take care of her but I'm nowhere to be found now that she's in trouble.' She cursed herself for being gone for so long.

"Cousin, slow down". A 5 foot and 11 inches tall man is following her and trying to calm her down. He can see that she is in panicked. She said her friend is in trouble that's why she's in a hurry.

As they got near the buffet table a crowd is already forming. Lindy and Ken tried to slip theirselves into the crowd and when they get through they saw an older woman sneering at a younger woman. Lindy whispered to him that the young woman is her friend. Ken looked at the woman.

Azalea is wearing a white dress with a heavy cardigan on top of it. Because of the big cardigan on her, there seems to be an illusion of her being fat. But looking at her arms and her legs they are in a normal shape even her face is quite small. She's also wearing a dark coated nerd type glasses that is too big for her face and a headress that making her head big.

Ken heard the older woman. She asked her what is she doing in there and when she answered that she's only here for the food, he almost burst into laughter.

This girl really loves to eat just like what her cousin said.

'I like that in a girl.' He said to himself.

Ken was also surprised when the older woman is trying to kick her out. She just obeyed and smile. She didn't even retaliate. But for some reason Ken's heart feels heavy.

He knows that the older lady is her stepmother. But it seems like she doesn't treat her well. The feeling of being an outcast was slammed to Azalea's face along time ago.
