The Goddess

Mrs. Son were still furious but she must let go, for now. She left with her husband and then the crowd dispersed .

"Azalea, I'm so sorry!.... I promised not to leave you but then again things like this happened when I'm gone". Lindy can't believe her bestfriend was put again in such an awkward situation. All alone.

"I'm fine Lindy, don't you worry, no harm done". Azalea was calm while assuring her friend that everything is okay. She knows that her bestfriend is blaming herself fir what happened. She made a promised earlier and yet she feels like she didn't keep it.

Azalea hugged Lindy tightly. She wants her to feel that everything is fine now and she shouldn't worry about her so much. Lindy seems to understand her message and she made an awkward smile though she still feels her heart aches for her. But she trust Azalea. If she said she's fine then there's nothing to argue about.

"Ehhhmmm." Ken clears his throat loudly so that his presence can be notice.

"Oh, I almost forgot, Azalea I want you to meet my cousin, Ken Mullen". As she pointed to the man on her side.

"Ms. Azalea Sherriman Son, am I right?". Then the man flashed his most dashing smile and extended his hand.

Azalea just nod. Then wrinkle her eyebrow. She's thinking about something. 'I think I've seen this man before'. She was looking intensely at Ken when another voice interrupted her.

"Well if it's my friend Ken". A deep but attractive voice of a tall man took their attention.

Both men shook hands and give each other a pat on the back. Seems like the two men have been friends for a long time.

"So when's the wedding bell". Ken asked playfully.

"Jack's grandfather is not giving his blessings yet". A sad tone was in Sue's voice. She answered for them.

"What!... really then. The goddess Sue Antaler can't convince the great old man Shin to bless his grandson to you?". A hint of mischief can be heard in his tone. "Seems like your losing your touch my beautiful aphrodite". A sinister smile is showing on Ken's face.

Sue Antaler's eyes rolled and her lips pouted. She's making herself look cute for Ken and Jack is only watching her.

Jack and Ken are college buddies and they considered themselves as yin and yang. Jack is the cold businessman and Ken is the warm sports hero. Besides from this factor they really are in good terms.

Ken owes Jack back in college. He saved his life once when he almost drowned in the pool campus. Though Jack didn't hold it against Ken made a big deal about it. Because life is really a big deal for him.

The two met Sue Antaler in one of Ken's Grand Prix tournament, a friend introduced her to them.

Jack is the first one to show interest in Sue while Sue is showing her interest to Ken. She keeps on popping in Ken's every event but he keeps on ignoring her specially when Jack is accompanying Sue. Ken left and hide for a while and only came back after he found out that Jack and Sue is already dating.

"I already asked my old man about our engagement but he told me to wait for a while". Jack seems to be upset with his grandfather.

Jack's family are aware about his current relationship with the Antaler's second miss. They are not against her except for the old Shin. He keeps telling them that he has a plan that need to execute first. Jack is trying to lend a hand to execute early whatever plan it is, but the old man would refuse and always respond him with a PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE phrase.

Azalea and Lindy suddenly felt like a wallflower. The three people are only talking to each other with no care in the world. Lindy look at her friend and she noticed she is looking at her feet. 'Oh no, this is bad'. A worrisome thought starts to climb in Lindy's brain.

Azalea starts to move her feet. Slowly she is taking a step backward.

Lindy's eyes grew wide in disbelief. 'Trying to scape!.... Not on my watch'. Lindy cough. She tried to catch her cousin's attention. When Ken looked at her she smiled sweetly.

"Oh... hey Jack do you remember my little cousin Lindy?". He instantly introduce her.

Jack's brows furrowed he is trying to remember her. "Is she the one who broked your wind shield when you tried to leave her behind your house?". And a mischievous smile appeared in his handsome face.

"The one and only". Ken chuckled.

"Oh... I didn't know I am that remarkable. That's ancient history can't you just forget about it. I was already punished back then". She snorted.

The two men laugh at her reaction. She's still as childish as before though she's a grown woman now.

"And this is her bestfriend Azalea".

"The glutton girl". Sue exclaimed. She cut Ken's introduction on her.

Azalea suddenly lift her face and tilted her head.

'Glutton girl?... Who... Me?'. She's asking herself. Her eyebrows knit.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I was just so amazed back there, you really do eat a lot like you been starve for a week!". Sue said it without considering that she might get offended.

Lindy's face darkened and the two men became silent. But Azalea was unfazed she's used to this kind of people who loves to ridicule her eating habit.

"Yeah, I eat a lot, I have an extra stomach inside me". She said it shyly.

"Really!!!". Sue seems to be surprised with her confession.

Azalea and Lindy we're astound. They looked at each other meaningfully.

"Is she really that gullible?". Lindy whispered but Azalea shush her. Both women are trying to conceal their laughter. They thought she's an airhead. A beauty without a brain.

"By the way cousin, when's the next grand prix". Lindy just divert their attention. She's not very fond of airheads anyway.

"Yes!!!.... now I remember!". Azalea shout without a care and a beam of excitement flashed on her face.

Everyone was surprised when Azalea exclaimed.

'This is so rare'. Lindy was also surprised not with Azalea's loud voice but the way her eyes glitters. She even smiled.

"You're that car racer, am I right?". Azalea's face is beaming with anticipation while looking at Ken.

"Yes I am". Ken is smiling at her and get really curious. A woman like her knows a racer like him.

"What car do you own?".

"Well I have a Bugatti and...."

Azalea cut his words. "Is it a Bugatti Chiron?".

"Yes?!?... "

"No way!!!". Azalea is getting ecstatic. "Bugatti Chiron... with 1480 horse power and runs up to 288 miles per hour... That kind of Bugatti Chiron?". Her eyes are popping in amazement.

Ken's smile became wide. He is starting to like her. 'This girl seems quite unique'. He thought. "So you know something about cars?". He is getting curious.

"A little". She answered shyly.

"Oh come on, my bestfriend is a mechanic and she can fix cars, of course she knows cars. It's one of her rare talent you know". Lindy was quite proud of her bestfriend's so called talent.

Ken's face lit up. Hearing his cousin talking about her talent put his interest in her more.

Azalea tug Lindy near and glared at her. She can feel her cheeks are burning red. Fixing cars is not really a talent for her it's just a hobby and she don't want to flaunt it in anyone's face.

Jack's curiosity was stirred, he love cars too. He also own a top notch, luxurious and very expensive cars though the only difference between him and Ken is, he doesn't race he just loves to drive and enjoy the ride. He became curious and wondered this small woman can fix big cars. 'It would probably be amazing to watch her do my car.' He thought to himself. And his lips curve upward.

Sue Antaler is beginning to get bored with this car talk. She doesn't understand why are this guys are so obsessed with cars, and also this girl. She thought all woman must focus on their looks and always have grace specially in front of any man. This is the only way a woman can marry into a good family.
