Relentless Assault

Gerard, Fae, and Alder followed the tortoises through the realm of Evergarden before finding a patch of soil where they merged seamlessly into the ground.

"Here we go," Fae said.

She pulled one zen stone after another from the shells of the tortoises, and they gave no reaction.

"Amazing, master. These creatures are in no pain..." Alder stared at the tortoises, her wooden features seemingly happy.

Once the stones rested on the ground beside their carapaces, the tortoises rose up and looked at Fae and Gerard before wandering further through Evergarden towards the settlement. Their figures slowly shrank in the distance as Gerard examined the Zen Stones.

"Thank you, Gerard. This place you've created is incredible."

"It was something I did as a last resort, but I think it turned out okay."

"I see; well, I thank you nonetheless. You can keep all of the zen stones here, and I will bring some to Solares personally in a few days."
