Chapter 21: Just Shut Up!

Cynthia POV

Sinacore stood there, his expression impassive, and his dark eyes locked onto mine. There was no hint of anger, no jealousy—just a cold, unreadable gaze that sent a shiver down my spine.

I opened my mouth to speak, to explain, but the words caught in my throat. What was there to explain? Carlos had only caught me before I fell, but the intensity of Sinacore’s stare made me feel like I needed to justify myself.

"Sinacore," I started, my voice hesitant, "I—"

"You don’t need to explain anything, Cynthia," Sinacore cut me off, his tone flat and indifferent. "Whatever's happening between you two is none of my concern."

His words felt like a punch to the gut, and I had to remind myself to breathe. I wanted to argue, to tell him that there was nothing between Carlos and me, but the cold detachment in his voice made it clear that he wasn’t interested in hearing it.
