My Target Is A... Succubus?

Known as "The Oni" for his distinctive oni mask, this mysterious assassin gained notoriety in the underground for his ruthless execution style. With a flawless record, he targeted everyone from high-profile politicians to Presidents, operating in anonymity. However, his life took an unexpected turn when an unprecedented hit landed on his doorstep. At 2 A.M., a disheveled man, annoyed by an untimely disturbance, discovered a staggering proposition on his phone: a hit worth over 1.5 billion Yen. To his bewilderment, the target was an unexpected figure—a seemingly ordinary housewife.

Kenzo watched the scene and waited patiently for Akujin to return indoors to speak to him.

He was drenched in water and while the gesture was respectable, it didn't feel like a necessity.

"What is going on?" Kenzo asked bluntly, he wanted to know why he was here because he had no interest in meddling in the internal affairs of the Yakuza.

It was none of his business and he intended to keep it that way.

He had one target and that was the head of those that wanted him dead.

"One of my men was killed," Akujin responded, sitting on his chair despite being drenched in water and the leather of his chair being of superior quality.

"Isn't that normal considering his affiliation?" Kenzo asked, taking a seat opposite him.

"That is right but the other gangs haven't made a move ever since I increased our territory, we had an unspoken ceasefire. Peace would reign as long as I don't trespass into their territories," Akujin said.

Kenzo was surprised he wanted peace when he could very well wipe them all off with the power at his disposal.

This was the mentality of the weak and it was because of this weakness that Akujin had lost one of his men.

Kenzo knew it was best to keep his thoughts to himself as he didn't understand the political influence of the world that Akujin peddled.

But it was strange that the gangs would fight back against someone a lot more superior than themselves or was this an accidental killing?

No, there was no way that this was an accident but Kenzo knew the timing couldn't be a coincidence.

"Akujin, I do not care about the problems that are troubling you. I am here for the dons," Kenzo said bluntly, he was one of the few people who could talk to Akujin this way.

Akujin glared at him and Kenzo instinctively got on guard, ready for any potential threat but all that came out of Akujin's lips was laughter.

He couldn't believe Kenzo's audacity, it was surreal but it was refreshing to have someone that wasn't kissing his ass at every turn.

"You're right, this is Yakuza's business but we cannot make a move on the dons until I know what prompted this attack…" Akujin suggested but Kenzo already knew what he was trying to do.

"Let me guess, you want me to pay them a visit…" Kenzo muttered under his breath.

The Yakuza could easily be picked out due to their tattoos but Kenzo had no affiliation so to everyone else, he was just a normal person.

"Hey, you said it, not me," Akujin responded but Kenzo had no problem with this because something told him everything was connected.

"But I cannot stress this enough, under no circumstance should you kill the boss…" Akujin gave him a firm order.

Kenzo didn't care about this but if they threatened his life, he would take theirs without remorse.

Akujin noticed that Kenzo just stared at him without saying anything further.

He was confused as to why this was but a minute later, he realized that this was a job and Kenzo was probably expecting payment for it.

"You can't be serious…" Akujin said but Kenzo didn't say a word, this was a job and not some favour he was doing for him and as such, required payment.

Akujin brought out his phone and before long, Kenzo received an alert on his phone.

It was now a contracted job but there was something he needed to confirm first.

"Payment received, I will be back in 72 hours," Kenzo said but this varied from his usual 48 hours.

This didn't go unnoticed by Akujin but he was glad that Kenzo was accepting the job to begin with because it would be a lot safer if he declined it with the attention he had drawn.

"It seems you have unfinished business to take care of," Akujin said to which Kenzo nodded in response.

This was interesting and the way things were moving favored both of them.

The only person capable of accessing his phone or contacting him in such a situation should have been Miles.

But if Miles knew that Akujin was coming, that meant he had an idea of his location so why weren't their assassins after him?

That would have been the best course of action so why wasn't this the case?

Kenzo knew that there was something that he was missing and the person that would have the answer to his questions was one man.

Things were progressing at a decent pace and Beelithina was aware that Kenzo was evolving because the energy she was feeding off him was gradually increasing and her strength was replenishing at a much slower pace.

This was impressive because this shouldn't be possible until he completed his transformation but Kenzo was the first Incubus made in this manner.

There had only been stories and rumours regarding the ritual, Beelithina had tried numerous times and each failed.

Kenzo was a gamble that paid off but she just knew he wouldn't die however she expected his brief time in hell to break him but it seemed to only make him stronger.

But Beelithina was worried about what effect this must have caused because there was no way this would go unnoticed by the ruler of that realm.

There was only one way for Kenzo to have returned to life and that was passing through the gates of hell.

This meant that it had momentarily been forced open to expel his soul but it was insignificant.

There was no way any demon of noticeable rank could slip through because the gates would 'reject' them but this wasn't the case for the weaker demons with little to no demonic aura.

They had this privilege but this was one of those things that was rare but not impossible.

Beelithina wasn't worried because the King of hell might be evil but he kept hell under command.
