Being with Dan was great. I loved spending time with him and talking too. Its been two weeks of us secretly dating and I loved it. Alex and Joy don't know yet since I've been using Eve as a cover up. Well today I was writing my book when I got stuck with no ideas to put in. Dan hasn't called me this morning so we could talk and I was worried. I stared at my phone in anticipation when it started ringing. I picked it up and when I saw the caller ID a smile made it's way to my face.

"Hello Dan."

"Hi cutie. I've missed you"

"You spoke to me last night Dan"

"I miss you now. Do you want to go somewhere with me?"

"Erm...where are we going?"

"Its a surprise"

I could imagine him smirking behind the phone.

"Okay. What time?"

"Same time,same place."

"Okay."

"Its a casual night but don't forget your coat like last time."

"I won't Dan."

"I know. I'll pick you up at Eve's okay. Then we'll head out."

"Thank you"

"No thank you. For letting me date you. I'll see you at seven okay."

With a kiss from him through the phone,the call ended and I smiled. I started typing on my laptop with a renewed energy. There was a knock at the door and Alex came in.

"Hi baby bear"

"Oh Alex. Come in."

"Carl. We need to talk."

"Okay let me finish this chapter and....."

"We need to talk now!"

I turned to look at her and she didn't have a pleasant look on her face.

"What is it Alex? Are you okay?"

"Nope. I'm in my period and I need help Joy's not here."

"Oh....like its today"

"Yep. Can you run to the store and get me some pads for me? Please?"

"Sometimes I wonder if you're the oldest or I am"

"I am clearly the oldest but I'm child once every month."

"You mean every year"

"Hurry. I'm waiting. Don't forget nutella and I want something spicy for lunch okay."

"Okay but this evening Joy's looking after you. I'm heading to Eve's to show her my progress."

"Oh okay say hi for me. I'll try and talk to her I promise."

"You said that yesterday,the day before and the day before that."

"I said I will."

She left my room and I took my coat and started heading out. I took my scarf and shades too just in case. The supermarket was not that far so walking was not a problem. I picked a shopping cart at the entrance and walked in. I first went to the vegetable isle and picked some veggies before moving to the meat and other isles to pick necessary ingredients to make something spicy for Alex's lunch. I also didn't forget to get her pads and tampons and also her nutella. When done I pushed my cart towards the cashier and she started bagging everything. I paid and was out of the supermarket in a flash. On my way back I spotted a man following me and I became nervous. I quickened my pace but the man did same and soon caught up with me.

"Hey."

"Erm.....hi. Do I know you?"

"Oh no you don't but I do."

"Oh okay. How do you know me?"

"You're the writer Carl O'Brien. I'm I right?"

"Yes I am. You read my books?"

"And watched your movies too. I loved them. Collins,Collins Baker."

"Nice to meet you Collins. I'm actually on my way back home and my sister is waiting for me so....i...I mean we'll talk later okay."

"Oh I live around the block so let me walk you there. I have so many questions to ask you."

He started walking beside me and I became suspicious of him a little but did not show it.

"So Carl"

"Yes?"

"Sorry to ask but are you dating?"

"Wait what?!"

"Don't be mad but for the past weeks,I've been seeing you climb in and out your window to meet someone."

"You've spying on me? Are you a stalker?"

"Oh no I'm just a curious neighbour and I recently broke up with my boyfriend so seeing you makes me a little sad"

"Oh I'm sorry I didn't know. Why did you leave him? Did you not love him anymore?"

"I still love him but I cheated and told him. He got mad but I told he never had time for me,that's why I did it."

"So who ended things first?"

"It was me. I couldn't take it again so I ended things."

"I'm sorry to hear this but I'm sure you'll get someone who'll have enough time for you."

"Thanks. You're actually nice. Any girl would love to date you."

"Yeah. Thanks. Here's my stop I'll see you later Collins."

"Bye Carl. It was nice talking to you."

I entered my house and sighed. Collins words were replaying in my head and I didn't want that to happen to Dan and I. I think I'll talk to him today when we meet. I took out my phone and dialled Eve's number.

"Hey brother"

"Hi Eve. Can I ask a favour again?"

"You're going out with Dan right? Don't worry I know."

"Did he yell you?"

"No. I figured. Bring your laptop after lunch okay. And maybe I have some few ideas to share."

"Thanks Eve. You're the best."

"Love you too. Bye"

"Bye."

I ended the and made my way to the kitchen. I placed the groceries in their exact order. I picked up Alex's things and went to her room. I knocked her door and she opened it.

"Did you get them?"

"I did. Be ready in thirty minutes. Your food will be ready by then. Also I called Eve."

"I'll be there and I promise I won't get lonely missing you"

"Whatever. Get dressed. I'll also get you some warm water."

"That's why I love you."

She closed the door and I went to the kitchen and started her lunch and preparing whatever she needs for Joy to see and give her.
