Chapter 24: Where Am I?
I’m freezing. It’s cold and it smells bad in here. It smells moldy and damp. Where am I? I put my palm on the ground and feel the cold concrete and dried mud. I blink a couple of times, trying to adjust to the darkness of the space.
I push myself into a seated position and look around. There is a concrete wall with a tiny, fogged window behind me. When I face forward, there are bars. I turn to each side and find more bars. It’s like I’m in a cell. I’m trapped. I run to the bars and pull at the piece with the lock. It groans but doesn’t give way.
“Hello?!” I shout and my voice echoes off the concrete walls. “Jackie?! Margot?! Natalie?!” I call out to each of my friends but I don’t get a response. Hopefully, they are somewhere safe and not here with me in this disgusting, freezing room.
“Liam?! Cadence?! Alfonso!?” I call out the guys' names. They were tasked with my protection, hopefully, all of them are safe as well.
