Chapter 43: Team Kill!

The bear had been fighting for almost an hour already. In that time, it had been viciously swarmed by groups of spiders at a time, gradually weakening the defense of his stone like skin.

The spiders' bites and claw marks had chipped away at the stone-like mineral covering his skin exposing his fleshy interior. However, even though the spiders managed to break through the armor, they weren't able to pierce deep enough into the bear's flesh, making their attacks only weaken him and completely nullify the spiders' most powerful tool, their venom.

In Lake's eyes, this was already enough. The bear had been greatly weakened being reduced to around 50% of its max strength and its stone armor which would have previously blocked his sword had been chipped away.

"ROAR!"

The giant bear released a deafening roar as its remaining eye gradually turned completely red. Lake could sense the anger and madness quickly consuming its mind as the little bits of its previous stone armor that still remained on its skin completely fell off as the bear started to grow in size.

6 meters, 9 meters, 12 meters...

Lake calmly watched as the bear that was originally 5 meters tall grew to a staggering height of 15 meters tall! If this was anyone else, they would have been horrified and greatly deterred by the massive size of the bear.

Lake on the other hand remained completely calm as all of this had already been carefully calculated. Even though Lake may have not taken this battle seriously, as to him this was just another method to farm RP points, he still retained his cautious nature.

Before the battle even started he had already rushed ahead of the spider army and searched through the fates of the rank two beast as he knew that every little detail he could find could be the deciding factor for whether he lived or died in the upcoming battle.

That's why he already knew about the bear's ability to suddenly transform into a massive giant, towering over most of the buildings on the street.

A normal person may have decided to kill the bear before it transformed if they knew about this ability, but Lake decided to do the opposite as he wanted to let it grow into the towering giant.

"ROAR!!!"

Soon the bear released another deafening roar, this time far louder than the previous ones. Its only remaining eye had turned a violent shade of red as it lashed out with its massive arms, killing numerous spiders with one swing.

Many of the bear's allies immediately backed away in fear as they were horrified to see that the bear's attack had killed some of their own as well. In its eye was only madness and endless anger that couldn't differentiate between friend or foe.

When Lake saw this, he smiled evilly as he turned his gaze to a giant python that had been engaged in combat with another group of spiders this entire time. With the giant bear rampaging behind him, Lake rushed straight to the giant python.

Currently, the python had just barely managed to escape the never ending horde of spiders thanks to the giant bear's rampage. Looking towards the raging monster in the distance, the python's gaze revealed a trace of fear as it decisively decided to back away from the rampage.

However, before it could even move more than a few meters, the python felt something land on top of its head. Before the python could even react to whatever landed on top of its head, it felt something slap the top of its forehead.

This slap had momentarily stunned the python, barely a second later, it felt another slap on its forehead. The python immediately felt enraged as it released a loud hiss and began to move about madly, trying to throw whatever it was on top of its head off.

Lake, who was currently squatting on top of the python's head, only smiled as he slapped the python once more before jumping off.

The python who saw this, looked at Lake with rage in its eyes before swiftly lunging at him.

Lake, who already sensed the attack coming with his sixth sense, immediately jumped into the air before landing firmly atop the python's head again.

*Smack!*

Lake slapped the top of the python's head again, this time putting in more force than before. The python who was slapped again was stunned for a few seconds. When it was about to go into another rampage again to get Lake off its head, it heard Lake speak.

"I say little snake, what do you say to being my mount? I'll slap the top of your head everyday just like this and you will obediently let me ride atop you. What do you say?"

Although the python didn't understand the words Lake spoke, it could feel the blatant provocation in his tone.

This had immediately sent the python into another flying rage. He was known as the Snake King, a top predator among the Wolf King's Kingdom, yet today he was being ridden and beaten up like a low tier beast by the human atop its head.

its rage increased even more as it released another low hiss as it began to thrash about madly.

Lake laughed as he jumped off the python's head, making sure to slap it again before landing a distance away.

The python who had set its eyes on Lake immediately lunged at him, this time attacking from above as to not allow the annoying human to jump atop its head again.

Lake jumped backwards in response as the python's head crashed into the ground, sending debris into the surrounding area as a fog of dust appeared around it.

Lake didn't waste time standing around as he turned and began to run in the direction of the giant bear.

Immediately after, the python's large body dashed out of the cloud of dust as it chased madly after Lake.

In its mind, the only thought it had was crushing and devouring the body of the human that had provoked it and had completely disregarded the rampaging bear in the distance.

This was exactly what Lake wanted, as he ran towards the bear while barely avoiding the python's aggressive attacks.

Soon Lake had reached the area where the bear was rampaging. It had already killed countless creatures from both the spiders' side and its own side. Running through the area that was filled with sinkholes and large debris from the bear's rampage, Lake felt his heart ache as he ran past all the loose strands of fate that were quickly flying away.

If it wasn't for the python chasing after him and the spider army that was quickly being defeated under the attack of the giant bear, Lake would have loved to just happily stroll around, following behind the giant bear's rampage, picking up all the fates that were left behind.

Soon, Lake reached the feet of the bear. Looking up at the towering giant bear, Lake didn't hesitate to jump up onto the bear's leg, using the abilities of his parkour skill to run quickly up the bear's massive body.

The python who saw this, didn't hesitate to wrap itself around the bear's leg as it crazily chased after Lake's fleeing figure.

Lake quickly scaled up to the giant bear's shoulder while the python had already caught up to Lake, its massive body wrapping around the bear's giant body.

With its head bearing its gaping mouth towards Lake, the python was about to lunge straight at Lake when it suddenly sensed imminent danger.

With its eyes turning into sharp slits, the python dodged out of the way but its body was already wrapped around the giant bear's body and it couldn't fully escape the attack as a giant paw, the size of a car, smacked down onto the python's body.

"HISS!" The python released a loud hissing sound in agony as it felt's body being flattened under the oppressive force of the giant paw.

Looking at Lake that was standing before it, the python could see the human waving its arm at him as if it was wishing him goodbye. This had, once again, enraged the giant python as it tried to stretch its neck to swallow Lake.

Ignoring the pain, the python lunged at Lake with its jaw opened wide. However, just when its jaw was about to snap down, the python felt its body being pulled back as its jaw snapped down right before Lake's face.

*Smack!*

Lake stared at the python's eyes for a second before smacking down on its head one more time. Before the python could even get angry at Lake's smack, it felt itself being dragged off of the body of the bear.

Looking at the giant bear's red eye that was staring at it, the python suddenly felt a sense of dread as it already knew what was coming. In a last ditch effort, the python struggled madly to get out of the bear's iron grip but the bear's paws held it firmly in place.

Releasing a low growl, the bear, in its mad rage, stretched the giant python's body before opening its jaw wide and biting into the arrogant snake that dared to crawl on his body.

With the sound of flesh tearing, the python's body was ripped in two as the Bear released a mad roar that shook the buildings around it.

Lake smiled as he dashed through the sky, grabbing the strand of fate that had disconnected from the python's head.

As Lake absorbed the strand of fate, he could only think of two words to describe the current situation.
