Serpent Friends... (2/2)

My foot slammed into the goblin Infront of me, exploding his head. I'd found out that if I used [Hop] and [Sprint] while bouncing from tree to tree, squeezing in [Acrobatics] every once in a while, I could gain enough speed to destroy goblin heads with a killer kick. As for the meeting, the queen (or whatever they call her) said that anyone was welcomed to the meeting. As for me, I found a hole inside a cave with some space that I could use as my new home. Then I went out to go find something to kill so I leveled up, and these goblins confronted me.

As another goblin swung his hammer at me, I dodged, opening my mouth and letting a torrent of flames envelope him. Two down, three to go. Wanting to finish this quickly, I checked my status.

I said. I did the same strategy as before but using [Headbutt] and [Demon Flames] to get rid of them quicker. Soon, they were all dead, but I didn't gain any exp.

'...Syn?' I asked.

{I have detected another hostile being in the bushes.}

'Not good.'

As I braced myself, a gangly goblin came out. His back was hunched over, with a long, pointy nose and knees that were so skinny that they bent like sticks. His skin was green, and you could actually see his ribcage. He had a sort of metal Viking helmet, and a fur coat on his shoulders. He had some brown loincloth he used to cover his genitals, and even had this cool gnarled stick with a dragon face carved into it as a staff.

This was one of my top three 'Mythical Creatures' that I have encountered so far. I hate to have to kill it though. Before doing that, I checked it's status.

Then another status, this time for the staff, came up.

[Description]

|•This staff has been said to have many owners. It originated when a general managed to slay the demon dragon, Woshodo. The dragon cursed the general, and embedded himself in this staff of great power. But the staff was said to turn the owner evil, and has been lost to time.

"Excuse me, dear rabbit." The goblin said, whose eyes had been closed. He slowly opened them, Send a shiver down my spine. The slits of his eyes visible were mangled, white, and he had multiple scars running across his eyelids.

"But it is wrong to pry, is it not?" He lifted a hand and pointed at me, activating his [Claws]. He moved his finger in a diagonal manner, and to my horror, a cut was left on my face in the same direction of his finger.

'Syn? SYN? HELP!'

{The best solution would be to activate [Telepathy] and tell him you mean no harm. It has a 50% chance of winning. He can easily tell when you're lying, based on his titles- not unless you're a good liar.}

Activating [Telepathy] I screamed into his mind:

'I mean no harm!'

"They why did you kill my sons?" He asked calmly. He seemed tranquil for someone who just got spoken to through the mind.

'They wanted me for dinner! It's called self defense!' I said showing no remorse in my words. Which I think, was a mistake.

"Hmm," he said. "It is true we are starving because of the Spine Wolves hunting arrangement."

" Only if you agree to help me hunt the prey around the village will I let your murder go."

'If they are around the village, why don't you hunt them yourself?'

''That is because they are horned rabbits. I believe you can help, because the rabbits are too fast for us to catch."

'Hey Syn? This dude doesn't seem like he cares about his kids, much."'

{He is seething with anger. He would chop off your neck, but he conceals it behind a calm demeanor. Although he could resurrect his kids, he's still mad.}

"Oh, and one more thing. You also need to join the war meeting. " He said.

'I have no plans! I don't feel like sitting down, and talking strategy.'

"This is the deal, if you don't accept, I kill you. " He said, way too cheerfully.

'Fine. I accept.'

Sighing, I follow him through the twisty forest.

'Whatever'

[System Master is laughing]

Stupid System Master! Leave me alone! As I followed him, the forest thinned, revealing a human village. Instead of humans, there were Goblins carrying wagons, talking to friends, and playing with family.

A blur of white distracts me. It stops, raising its head to look at me. A rabbit. With horns, a much stronger and bigger body than mine, longer legs, and red eyes.
