9 Serpent friends...(1/2)

I blinked. I was back in my den, the dead bodies of the animals (Should I call them that?) lying in disarray. It was a wonder no one found the bodies yet. Getting my tired butt up, I dragged the bodies into my already stuffed den. I would have to find a new home soon.

'198 status points? That's f#cking amazing!'

I still felt tired, but this jumped me into an awake state. Looks like I slept for a whole day, but I was happy with my progress.

'Alright Syn, do a scan of the area.'

{I sense two lifeforms, presumably heading towards you.}

'Do I ever get a break?'

[System Master is laughing at your misfortune.]

'Ha Ha.' I thought blandly.

Suddenly, a hissing red serpent launched out of the bushes. It displayed its sharp fangs, which were dripping with venom. It radiated an aura much stronger me, and I probably would piss my pants if I was still human.

The snake hissed. 'Syn. I can't fight this. Why does it have a name?'

{Either it was acknowledged by a higher being, or it was named by an already acknowledged creature.} Syn replied. Another snake launched out of the bushes, ten times bigger than the last one. Its body reached the ground at about 10 feet down.

"What are you doing?" It hissed. Weird. I could understand it.

"I wasn't really gonna eat it." The smaller one replied, huffing. I didn't even know snakes could do that.

"Back to the den." The bigger one said, curling around the smaller one and pushing it away from me.

Now I was alone again, pondering everything that had happened so far. I still needed a new home, but then an idea came to mind.

'Inventory'

...

'How did this happen?'

I thought.

I was upside down, my foot held by a rope connected to a tree that suspended my whole body. I'd been caught in a trap. I would burn it, but I wanted to see who captured me so I could destroy them. Sure enough, a few goblins poked out of the bushes. I called already tell from their potbellies that they weren't hot stuff.

"Mmm. Finally, rabbit. Can feed goblins." The biggest one said. I strengthened all the muscles in my legs, breaking through the rope. Then I used [Fiery Headbutt] to blast a hole through one off his guy's heads. The other goblins ran away, including the leader.

'That's right you idiots! Run like the wind!'

[Gained skill Telepathy lvl.1]

[Gained 20 exp.]

Then, a reverberating, loud horn echoed towards me. Suddenly, wolves, deer, elves, sprites, faries, pixies, all sorts of mythical creatures I never thought I'd see ran towards the direction off the sound. After the stampede finished, I heard a loud hiss. Following the trail the creatures left, I can across a giant ledge sticking out of the ground in a vertical angle. Animals and creatures were crowded around it, including the goblins from earlier.

The snakes I saw before slithered onto the rocky ledge.

"I am sorry to call you on such short notice, " The snake hissed. " But I have received word from my spies that the warheads Dread and Famine have plans to free Famine, and then wage war on the west. " Collective gasps escaped from the crowd. How I could understand these things, I didn't know.

"The divine beast of the west still hasn't woken up yet!" Someone said.

"Even a divine beast isn't a match for two." Another one said, from the left.

"While our divine beast slumbers, I will act as divine beast." The snake said. "I, Nimra, may not be a divine beast, but if we grab hold of their talismans, I'm sure we can overpower them."

The smaller snake, which I kept having to remind myself had a name, spoke up. "They aren't idiots. They would gather a army."

Nimra's eyes glinted. "Which is why," she said, "I propose a war meeting. In the Bakaha lake."

What I'm gathering is some extremely powerful beasts are going to kill us.

[System Master is having a good time watching you.]

'Times like this I wish I was the system master.'
