31 A scientist?

So… My big plan. Let me demonstrate…

The first thing I did after getting out of the hole was bring my rope with me of course. Well, obviously, after the girl came out of the hole.

Notice that I went first? Yeah, who knows if she's actually a shapeshifter that'll cut the rope and leave me inside the cave to die. Definitely don't want that cliché happening to me. That's right! I'm not stupid. I'm big brain! I mean like, small PP, big brain? Let's just hope that I can improve both of them in the future. I surely don't want to become strong but dumb. I doubt that'll happen though. The elders aren't stupid, so yeah… I guess that's just a conspiracy theory of me simply being too paranoid.

Cough Cough Anyway, just as planned, I followed the girl to her house to get my share of money.

*Cough* *Cough* Yep, I was actually coughing this time. Not only was the girl's looks average, The insides of her house was a mess too. Papers, clothing, and many other unnecessary items that were on top of each other, could be found almost everywhere within the house.

Well, at least there weren't any rotten food or unwashed plates. This girl is simply hygienic but quite unorganized. Since I was trying to find out the reason why the girl was super unorganized, I decided to pick up a paper on the floor that had caught my interest.

'Hmm… A flower?' I thought when I looked at the details of the drawing that had been made on the paper.

My thoughts quickly changed when I recognized what type of drawing it was however. It was the flower of chaos! The vegetation that gives birth to imps specifically. One of the weakest, but the most annoying type of demon.

"Once again, I apologize for my lack in accommodating visitors. Sorry it took quite the while, but you can pick half of my total amount of PP crystals now. I don't really use them except for staying alive, so I've got quite a lot of them." The girl told me before she brought the bag of crystals closer to where I was.

"Hmm… Are you researching the origin of the chaos within nature?"

"Oh, you can understand my work? And no, I'm not trying to understand its origin, but the way it functions. Come come." Suddenly, like a mad scientist, the girl started running around the house to find the few pieces of paper that she needed to show me.

"Here, come, look at this. There have been some cases that some cultivators who got brainwashed by the demons, were able to retrieve back their consciousness, and still able to use their demonic abilities. They were immune to the toxicity of the chaotic regions, they were physically stronger, and the best of all, they could counter the demon's magic with little to no effort. If we can harness the energy of Chaos like we can with PP, we wouldn't have to fear the demons anymore, and perhaps, we can finally belong to one family!"

"Brain wash huh…"

F*ck! Yep I am definitely f*cked if I get captured by the demons… This is bad… What if the demons decide to raid this sect and win? Looks like I have no choice but to grow as soon as possible… Little brother, it seems like you won't be having a peaceful day any time soon.

"Yes, brain wash. Because just like us, the demons are trying to make us into them, or get rid of us completely. Our characteristics in nature are polar opposites, hence why one side is trying to reign. After my discoveries though, I figured out that there is indeed a way to cause harmony between both races. To let their kind be one with us, and to let our kind be one with them… Fascinating, isn't it?" *Sigh* "You probably think I'm mad just like the others do, don't you?"

"Why should I think that? That's not mad. As long as you don't cause a mass murder just for your research of course…"

"Ehe~" The girl chuckled upon my words, and gave me a joyful smile right after. "The reason I'm doing this is to avoid a mass murder. So why would I?"

"Well, I hope you stay true to your words. Don't come saying it's for the greater good later, okay?"

"Hehe." She giggled to my non existing joke. Like seriously. What the heck does she keep laughing for? Is her humor that bad, or is she that lonely??

"Anyways. I have an important place to be soon, so, can we leave?"

"Oh! I'm sorry for prolonging your stay! Let's go then."

The girl grabbed onto my hand right after she had her words, and dragged me along with her while she ran. Seriously. Who's the one that's in haste here? Because if I'm not wrong, it looks like she's the one that has somewhere to be very soon.

Sigh… I couldn't do anything but run along with her, hand in hand. Doing that was for the better after all, because her rushing towards the mountain of Fortune and Opportunity, actually benefited me. So why not run along with her? She was actually cute to look at as she ran in front of me, so, that was a plus for sure.
