Chapter 3

DERRIC POV

After our dinner, I took Sapphie to the study room. I showed her the table on which she will work and went to my table. We were opposite each other. I saw her getting busy with her files. I smiled looking at her seriousness and got to work. I was busy looking at the progress of interns which Sapphie has sent. After I was done looking at them, I saw Sapphie frowning and looking at her laptop. I got up from my seat and went to her.

I asked her " What's wrong? Why are you frowning so much?" She just deeply sighed and said, " Looks like someone is planning to make me a scapegoat." I frowned at hearing that. I then saw the panicked face of Sapphie. She was explaining in her panicked voice " B.Boss trust me, I have never cheated on you or your company. J..just give me some time I will prove myself innocent. I..." Before she could say something else I carried her and took her to the couch.

SAPPHIRE POV

I was so busy reading the mail that I forgot Boss's presence. He approached me and asked " What's wrong? Why are you frowning so much?" I sighed deeply and answered him " Looks like someone is planning to make me a scapegoat." I then saw Boss frowning upon hearing my answer. I got panicked and tried to explain to him " B.Boss trust me, I have never cheated on you or your company. J..just give me some time I will prove myself innocent. I.." Before I could say something further, Boss carried me and took me to the couch and did something which I didn't even think about.

He sat on the couch and made me sit on his lap. He gave me a glass of water and gestured for me to drink it. I hesitated at first but seeing his angry stare I gulped down a little water. I relaxed a bit. He then said in his gentle voice " Calm down, I know you can never cheat me and my company. I trust you, so don't bother to explain anything." He was looking at me very gently and I felt secure when he said those words to me. It meant a lot to me. After the death of my mom, Boss is the one who cared for me. He is the one who said such soothing words to me. Unknowingly my tears fell.

DERRIC POV

After I took her to the couch and made her sit on my lap. I gave her a glass of water to drink. She was hesitating but seeing my frowning stare she gulped down a little water. After she relaxed, I said in a gentle voice " Calm down, I know you can never cheat me and my company. I trust you, so don't bother to explain anything." I was looking at her very gently. She was just staring at me. But I suddenly saw her eyes well up with tears streaming down her cheeks. I wiped her tears and hugged her. I kissed her forehead and patted her.

She was sobbing a little. I sighed and carried her in my arms. I went to our Master bedroom. The whole while she was just staring at me. I laid her on the bed and pulled her towards me in my embrace. I kissed her forehead once again but this time lasting for a bit longer. This time she held my t-shirt tightly, I gently took her hands and interlocked them with mine. I kissed her hands and then slowly peppered kisses on her face. She giggled and smiled. She asked me something which froze me.

SAPPHIRE POV

When my eyes welled up with tears and streamed down my cheeks, he gently wiped my tears and hugged me. He kissed my forehead and patted me. I was sobbing a little. He sighed and carried me in his arms to the Master bedroom. I was just staring at him. He laid me down on the bed and pulled me into his embrace. He again kissed my forehead, but this lasted a little longer than the others. I held Boss's t-shirt tightly because I was feeling strange with his kiss. I couldn't understand that feeling. Boss then gently took my hands and interlocked them with his. He kissed my hands and peppered kisses on my face. I felt ticklish and smiled.

I don't know but I wanted to ask this for a long time. I gathered my courage and asked him " B..Boss, do you know my mom? Do we have some connection with each other?" His grip on me got a little harsh. I just yelped in pain. When he heard my yelp, his grip became gentle. He then asked me " What does your heart say about this question? What do you think we had or have?" He was asking gently kissing my face. I replied to him saying " I feel we both have a deep connection. Like my heart knows you but my brain has forgotten you. Before the death of mom, she left a message requesting me to join only your company. Boss, please tell me what we are?"

DERRIC POV

The question which I heard made me freeze. My grip on Sapphie got harsh and she yelped in pain. I loosened my grip and asked her " What does your heart say about this question? What do you think we had or have?" I asked her gently kissing her face. She replied to me saying " I feel we both have a deep connection. Like my heart knows you but my brain has forgotten you. Before the death of mom, she left a message requesting me to join only your company. Boss, please tell me what are we?" I sighed and made her look at me and asked her " Look at me, remember my touch, my kiss and tell me, do you feel uncomfortable with me?"

She looked at me and said " I feel very safe and secure with you. I don't feel uncomfortable with you. My heart says that you have all the right over me. I..." Before she could complete her words I kissed her deeply, pouring down everything about us. Sometimes action proves more than words. When she started struggling for air I moved back. We both were catching our breaths. She just said one word " Ric!" and fainted in my arms.
