Chapter Eleven

"Okay, you two have licenses for showcase. Now, let's go catch some pokemon!" Joce said, thrusting a fist into the air.

Evey simply nodded slowly.

"Uhhhh, Joce, isn't wandering into the forest kinda... Dangerous?" I asked nervously. "Evey sprained her wrist and we don't battle."

Joce tried not to role her eyes. "Time for you to learn how!"

"No!" Evey and I shouted.

Evey looked at me.

"Let's just hurry." I mumbled.

Lucario, who'd been ignored, ran up. "HEY, IZZY!"

I groaned loudly. "Luuuuuucario!"

"You made a list when you were six of your dream pokemon, and said if I go with you on your journey, to give it to you!" He thrust out a piece of paper, which was crumbled and stained.

Blush covered my face. "Um, thanks." I quick shoved it in my pocket. "It's old.."

Joce smiled a bit, and Evey giggled.

"Fennakin was first!" Lucario said, smiling. "Memorized it."

"Lucario! Please! Stop!" I whispered, and dug my heel into his foot.

Sylvie pawed my leg, so I picked her up. With Vulpix on my shoulder, I stumbled a bit.

"Fennakin!"

Evey and I looked at Lucario.

"Not me." He held up his paws, shrugging.

My eyes widened. "Then that means.."

Evey nodded smiling. "A fennakin!"

"You can catch it!" I said, forcing a smile.

Evey didn't need to look at my forced smile to know how badly I wanted fennakin. I was just being polite. "No, you get fennakin."

I reached for a pokeball. "Oh fennakin!"

"Kin!" A small female fennakin crawled out of the bushes.

"Hey, little cutie!" I cooed, and bent down.

The little Fox pokemon walked up to me, and sniffed my hand. "Feh."

I held out a oran berry, which Lucario packed a bunch of.

"Fennakin!" The fennakin turned her nose up, and slapped it away with her paw.

Lightning ran and grabbed it. "Chu!"

"Bad Lightning! Bring it back!" I whispered frantically.

"Pika. Pii!" He ignored me and shoved it into his mouth.

I facepalmed and turned towards the fennakin. "Uh, here." I held up a twig, expecting it to play with it.

"Kin! Fenna!" Fennakin yipped, and snatched it, chewing and swallowing it.

"Did that pokemon eat a stick?" Joce asked from behind me. "That's not normal."

"Go, pokeball!" I shouted as I stood up and launched one.

One. Two. Three. CLICK!

My pokedex dinged.

Congrats! You've caught a Fennakin! Would you like to name her?

I pressed no, picking up the pokeball with my other hand.

Fennakin, the fox pokemon.

Fennakin's firey fur in their ears sear at high temperatures, keeping opponents at a safe distance. They snack on twigs for energy.

"Alright Fennakin! Come on out!" I said, pressing the open button.

Fennakin appeared, smiling. "Fennakin!" Then used flame thrower on my face.

"Ow." I said, and rubbed my face.

Evey searched her pokeballs. "No water type. I only have a fairy, fire, and normal! I don't have my Mudkip! Darn it, my brothers have him!" She cried.

Joce called over her Vanillite. "Use hydro pump!" She commanded.

"No no no- GAH!" I screamed, falling into mud with a mouth full of water.
