Although food would have been one of the problem othe people later on, I do not think everything revolves around food. They should be other pressing matters that needs to be addressed.

I finally found Donua at the back. I decided to appeal to the man directly, and disregard all of Tufa's warning on keeping a low profile. Why should I listen to him when he is in cohorts with the enemy?

His words flared up the spirit of patriotism in the people, they begin to let out a shout while raising their hands up and down. When he saw the actions and response of the people, he was obviously pleased if the huge smile on his face was anything to go by. They looked like the perfect tool that would help ensure that the words get round till it reaches a curious soul, who would have no option but to address the leaders and ask what was happening.
