"How was I able to withstand those blows just fine?" Max asked himself with a smile on his face. He had rushed out of the cafeteria, not because of anything but because he was extremely happy and surprised at the same time. He got into his room and closed the door behind him then walked to the mirror and removed his shirt. "There are no injuries at all, this is freaking awesome! I guess it should be because of the system, hahaha!" Max began to laugh out loud as he danced around his room.
As he was dancing, his eyes subconsciously moved to the clock. "Ahhh! Don't tell me that I am late!" He screamed seeing the time. He quickly wore another shirt and carried his bag, he didn't mind his dishevelled hair which was unlike him and dashed out of his room.
-------------
"Are you all complete?" Max's home-room teacher asked as he stared at all the students one after the door.
"No....."
"Yes, Yes, I am already here!" Max called out as he ran into the class like someone being chased by a wild animal. The teacher glanced at him and scoffed, the look on his face said it all — how useless Max was to him and the class.
"Well, let's continue. You all should follow me to the Arena for your training." The teacher said and walked out of the class followed by all the students except Max.
"The look on the teacher's face will change after I become strong, I'll teach you all a lesson!" He grumbled and left the class as well.
Max had noticed the look on the teacher's face, well this wasn't the first time, and nor will it be the last. He has always been treated this way by everyone around him, starting from his parents down to the school and the students as well.
------
The students followed the teacher until they got to a silver-painted tunnel and went in, arriving at the place, they were blinded by the dazzling light that illuminated the moment the doors were opened. The students after getting used to the light gasped as they looked around the places, the interior of the Arena was made of glasses and rolls of chairs by the far end of the place.
"We won't be the only ones here, so listen up!", The man's voice rang out, bringing the students out of their imaginations. They began to gather around until they had successfully surrounded the man. " Other students will be here, especially the seniors. I wouldn't want anyone who would bring me shame so I hope you all respect yourselves. These are the weapons, pick any that best suits you and get prepared for your sparing."
The students turned around and saw the weapons in some glass boxes, they cheerfully rushed to the weapons and began to scrutinise them all.
"Hey, get out my way!" A boy warned as he pushed Max away from a particular glass box.
"But I came here before you..." Max replied in a bit of rage, he had seen the gauntlets earlier and it got him mesmerised that he wanted them.
"Who cares? I like the silver gauntlets and I'll be taking it," the boy said and picked up the silver-coloured gauntlets before walking away with a smile of victory on his face.
"Go die with the gauntlets!" Max scoffed angrily and moved to another box. "The hell is these old dirty gloves?" He asked as he stared at the odd black pair of gloves inside the box. Other students who had seen the gloves hissed and walked away from them, no one wanted to use them as it was useless to them. They went for the spears, daggers, scythes, gauntlets and some other weapons that looked cool and badass.
Max stood still for some time, staring at the odd gloves, it didn't look like a weapon as it had the looks of normal gloves only that it had sharp claws at the end of every finger. "Why do I feel like using it?" He mumbled to himself in confusion. Max felt something drawing him to the gloves, the urge to hold them was strong and he couldn't walk away even if he wanted to. 'I only have one life to live and I'm not living it for anybody. Might as well just fall into the devil's trap and see what he plans for me' After thinking to himself, he put his hands inside the box and held the gloves in both hands.
The moment he did that, the gloves disappeared and when they reappeared, they had already been worn. Max held in his urge to scream as he didn't want to alert other students who had gone to the other side of the Arena with the teacher to begin the training. Luckily he was the only one there and so no one saw or knew what Is happening to him.

<<An Unknown skill is being transferred into the Host's system>>
<<Blocking the skill's intrusion>>
.....
<<Blocking Failed>>
<<Skill Adapted>>
<<Skill Type: Blood>>
<<Name: ----- >>
<<Description: Host when using this skill requires the usage of blood, which can be the host's or someone else>>
<<Duration: Limited.....depends on the amount of blood being consumed>>
------
"What is this?" Max asked as he stared at the information before his face. "What kind of a skill is this?" He had never seen or heard a skill that requires blood and so it baffled him greatly. He moved his eyes to the gloves in his and was shocked to see the changes in the gloves. They were no longer old and dirty, they looked like gloves newly bought, they now had the colour black and some red tints by the sides to add to their beauty.
"I finally got a skill though I don't understand what it is, I guess with time I'll understand it perfectly," he said as he beamed. He stared at the gloves in his hands and could not help but smile even wider. "I can't let anyone see these gloves or they'll think I stole them. You now belong to me, I don't care if you are the school's property." He declared and tried removing the gloves but it was impossible. "Huh, how am I supposed to hide this stuff?" He asked in frustration as sweats trickled down his face.
<<Host can make the gloves disappear and equally appear when he needs them. All you have to do is focus your mind on it and give a command >>
This piece of information got Max beaming, he did what the system said and commanded the gloves to disappear using his mind and just like the system said, they vibrated and disappeared.
"This is cool!" Max mumbled and rushed out of the place to go join the rest of the students.
