"This is The Beginning", I say.
I move my head around, to try gather some information on my surroundings while my body is paralysed due to obviously being a baby.
All that's around me is trees, the sky and this rock that I'm laying against. What's going on?Was I abandoned by my parents on my lonesome in this forest? "How fortunate…" I think while rolling my eyes.
I guess I have to think of something to do to make it through this situation.
…
"Oh right, my skill". I just remembered,
Now how do I activate it? Do I just think of what I want to know about? Let's see.
I look at one of the large trees around me and think "Appraise". Suddenly, a blue, game-like window appears in front of the tree.
Name: English Oak
Type: Evergreen
Oh, wow, as I look around the panel appears for every tree I look at, and all of those in my immediate vicinity are oak trees. Interesting.
And when I look at the grassy ground, each blade has its own panel to say that it's ryegrass.
Suddenly I hear a ping sound sound in my head. A blue panel appears in directly in front of my eyes.

Oh wow, so this skill can level up? Sweet.
I decide to see what's new and learn that now I see the species' scientific names. I don't really care for this information really, but let's see if I can max out this skill's proficiency. It's not like I have anything better to do anyway…
So I spend the my time reading every bit of information, be it all useless, for every tree, leaf and blade of grass in my sight.
After some hours

[Appraisal] has become [Great Appraisal]
-This is the final rank of the skill and cannot be raised in level any more-
After, I don't know how long, but the sun has moved to the completely opposite side of the sky. It's probably about early eavening right now.
But anyway, I just got this notification saying that my skill can't be upgraded any more. I've basically reached the skill's max level.
Over my skill grinding, it has started giving quite a bit of information. Things like durability, what the target are made out of, down to the molecular structure. Now I can even appraise the atmosphere and see which atoms are in it, and really, the air is so clean and unpolluted, it makes earth seem like a dump.
But I wonder what this Great Appraisal skill can do.
Suddenly, a window appears.

Hold on… These Passive skills… they are things from my past life. I was a Mechanical engineering student in University and I took Muay Thai at the MMA gym in the city. I also had a thing for knives, they are quite cool. And of course, everyone needs to know how to cook when they leave their parents' house.
This is great, so I don't need to start from absolute zero. But first I need to survive somehow, and right now, I'm starving. I haven't eaten since I got here and the sun is going to set soon.
I need to get out of this blanket. Ok, calm down.
I close my eyes and start to feel around the inside of this blanket. After some time, I find the blanket's binding. It's behind me, so in order to reach it, I've had to put my tiny left arm in an awkward position.
I grip on it and slowly pull. After a few seconds, the binding is now at my side and I can feel the blanket has loosened, but I need to loosen it a bit more to get out.
A few more seconds later, I've pulled it in front of me and now the blanket is loose enough that I can remove my right arm and finally untie the blanket from the outside. Now all that's left is for me to roll over to be free.
It's quite difficult but after some effort, I'm able to roll over to my belly and the blanket is now off.
Completely exhausted, I have to lay there for a minute to catch my breath. Darn this baby body. It wasn't even much work. But whatever…
I slide down this large rock that I have been laying on for the whole day. I land on my feet, but they feel extremely weak and I find it hard to balance on these tiny feet. But I use the rock as support. It's quite big and uncharacteristically soft and…furry…?
"Shith..", I say with my weak baby tongue.
This isn't a rock, It's a…

I gently pull my blanket, the only thing that I have other than the diaper at my nether regions. I slowly stumble as quietly away from the beast. Every step is difficult and I have a hard time not falling over, but I'm able to go. I'm a bit tired, but I need to keep moving.

I walk for what feels like forever. However, I have gotten more used to my body over the last few kilometres. My legs are exhausted, but I keep pushing myself forward, because I need to find something to eat and somewhere safe.

It seems my attributes have increased because I've been pushing my body through its logical limits. Though that's pretty much One Piece logic.
The sky is a bright orange and it looks like it will be dark soon.
Finally, I see a pond. The water glistening a beautiful golden colour. I rush over, kneel down and shove my face inside briefly, taking in a mouthful of water.
Relief flushes over my previously dehydrated self. The sweat on my face washes away. I feel a cool breeze.
I take a deep breath.
"Nyoman something tho eath", I say.
I look into the water and see a few small fish swimming. Fortunately, the pond is shallow, so fishing them out won't be too difficult…I assume…
