Decent Neighbors

The panic attack bubbling up inside of her stopped.

Everything seemed to stop except the irritating beating of her own heart drumming furiously through her ears. She couldn't believe this was happening. Rhea tried to blink the twins away but they were there right in front of her. Zeven was in the driver's seat while Aziel sat in the passenger seat. After she calmly explained her situation, they had went out of their own way to escort her down the stairs and settle her into the backseat of their shiny white sports car.

More important than her panic attack that almost overtook her...The shiny white sports car was probably worth more than her entire existence!

Was it normal for college students to have nice and expensive cars, far better than Rhea could ever afford? She was sure it wasn't but then again the twins weren't exactly all that normal to begin with. Rhea took deep shattering breaths and tried to compose herself. She quietly looked first at Aziel who nonchalantly looked out the car window, at whatever thing passed his sight. He was surprisingly nice despite her being so harsh on him about the trash situation.

And then she looked at Zeven, who drove and kept his eyes straight on the road. He was probably the more tolerable one out of the twins and gave off friendly vibes. She suddenly wondered why they even bothered helping her, despite all the hostility she has shown them. Rhea gasped as Zeven caught her looking at him in the rear view mirror.

She was already still shaking just from venturing into the outside world but remembering the twins were near, shook her the core even more.

Rhea quickly turned away and whispered in a low voice, "I don't understand...Why do you guys even bother? Why be nice to someone that has shown you nothing but hostility?"

Aziel turned from his seat and beamed his eyes at her. A dark aura began to emanate from his whole body as he eerily spoke the next words while laughing almost like the villain of one of her video games, "Now that it's come this far, I might as well just say it...We want to turn you into our kinky sex slave."

Rhea all but shrieked and sank deeper into her seat. Of course! How could she see them in a different light! They were out for something sinister after all. Instead of taking her to Damien's concert, perhaps they were taking her to a secret hideout where they'd torture her without anyone to hear her last whereabouts. Or even worse...

Zeven harshly swatted Aziel's shoulder as he winced. "...Aziel, not funny."

Aziel put his hands up in the air. "Sorry, sorry neighbor girl. That was revenge. I was just teasing you for all the headache you put us through. And seriously, what kind of people would my brother and I be, if we just ignored someone that was pleading for our help? I'm telling you time and time again, we are GOOD people."

She just looked at Aziel blankly as Zeven sighed and chimed in, "...You really see us as the worst of the worst, don't you?"

Rhea frantically nodded, which turned Aziel's face into a scowl.

"You ungrateful..." Aziel was momentarily shocked and his words cut off completely as Rhea looked into his eyes.

"...about everything," Rhea whispered in a low voice, so low that her words scattered into the air.

"What?" both of the twins asked in unison.

Why was this so hard to do?

Rhea squealed an unattractive noise. She then fidgeted with her hands a little but resolved herself to face them with all the inner strength she could gather. Her body was probably drenched in nervous sweat by now but she kept willing her mouth to say the damn words.

Just say it Rhea! Regret it later.

"I-I said...I'm s-sorry about everything. At first, I thought you were the worst of the worst but now..."

They waited patiently for her to finish.

"The both of you are actually decent people for putting aside the way I treated you, and even going out of your way to take me to my nephew's concert. Thank you...I really appreciate it."

Aziel just looked at her slack jawed, then turned to Zeven who said, "...From worst to decent, we could probably live in peace next door from that."

"So you do know how to be a normal person sometimes..." Aziel smirked as he said this while looking at her in a curious light.

She looked at him blankly again, almost in a manner that could murder anyone in sight. His jokes were not funny. At all. They were insulting!

Rhea narrowed her eyes at him. "Grr, I take it back! Only Zeven is decent. But you Aziel, are still lumped into the worst of the worst!"

She saw Zeven give her one of those deadly winks through the rear view mirror, "I'm kind of flattered."

Rhea could feel her body sink further into the seat, so much that she was turning into a puddle of slime.

Aziel laughed off her insult. "Underneath, you're still nothing but an ill tempered creature."

If they weren't seated, Rhea was sure that their heads would be butted together as someone, namely Rhea, would have either bit or swung at him. She was easily provoked so it was in her nature to attack or take flight. But of course, she was trapped and needed to get to her destination without fail in order to support her dear nephew.

All of this was...For Damien!

Speaking of Damien, the view of his school turned up and Zeven turned into the parking structure. Impending doom began to storm inside of her heart once again.

There's somewhat of a progress? Lol hoped you like their interactions in this chapter!
