Cruising Through

Yin Xiu was surprised at how weak her opponent was. She expected him to be very strong by how big and buff he was but she was deceived by his looks. She quickly got down the stage and looked at her master.

Chen Jiang looked at Yin Xiu and smiled at her. He was happy that she would finally boost her confidence with this win. Yin Xiu was happy that her master had noticed her and went back to where she stood before.

Li Jie was nowhere to be found so Yin Xiu assumed that he was going through his battle.

She looked around and waited for another an hour for the first round to get completed. After the first round, the second round started immediately.

Yin Xiu saw her number on the stage that was to the far right. Beside her number was another number - 28. Yin Xiu assumed that that was the number of her opponent and went to the stage.

On the stage was another girl that looked to be 2 years older than her. Yin Xiu introduced herself.

"I am Yin Xiu, a 9th Stage Spirit Apprentice."

Her opponent was shocked at Yin Xiu's level.

"Zhang Yunxi. 8th Stage Spirit Apprentice."

The referee quickly started the match.

"Begin!"

Yin Xiu brought her hand to the sword in her waist.

"Sword Slash reaches the heavens!"

Zhang Yunxi quickly started attacking Yin Xiu before she could react. Yin Xiu counter-attacked with the only skill she knew.

"Sword Draw!"

A Qi wave smashed into the Qi wave released by Zhang Yunxi. Zhang Yunxi's yellow Qi wave was cleaved into two and Yin Xiu's wave continued and smashed into Zhang Yunxi. Zhang Yunxi was blown off the stage.

"Crash!"

The sound made by Zhang Yunxi when she fell masked the noise that Zhang Bo made when he snapped the armrest of his chair. Zhang Yunxi was the most talented female in his clan, and she was easily defeated with a single move by a person who was 2 years younger than her.

Meanwhile, Chen Jiang was mentally making notes on what technique to teach Yin Xiu next. After all, a sword drawing technique wouldn't qualify as a proper attacking technique. Other than that, one needed to learn movement and defense techniques as well.

Meanwhile, Yin Xiu was waiting for her next match to begin. She was very bored. Her match only took a few seconds to finish, but the others were taking minutes to exhaust each other.

Yin Xiu was unhappy about things, but in truth, this benefited her. While others would be exhausted when facing her, she would be in pristine condition as she was only finishing her match with one strike.

The match-ups took half an hour to finish. Since fewer people were battling, it took less time. When the next round started, her number came in the center ring again. She didn't even have time to find Li Jie before having to battle again.

Yin Xiu was able to sweep through the next two rounds as easily as the first two, by only drawing her sword. By this time, many of the surrounding disciples had noticed her matches and were hoping that they wouldn't be matched with this female demon.

The round of 16 started with everyone being in the 9th Stage of Spirit Apprentice or higher. Some people would think that Spirit Warriors would not need the Spirit Warrior Breakthrough pill but that was false. This pill was lucrative to them as much as to Spirit Apprentices. This pill could actually be used to break through two minor stages in the Spirit Warrior realm.

There were two Spirit Warriors in the new disciples. Both of them were 15 years old. Yin Xiu had a disadvantage as she was still young, and so her cultivation was less compared to those elder than her.

Yin Xiu was able to cruise through to the top 4 as she did not encounter any of the Spirit Warriors. However, her luck stopped at the Semi-Finals. She was matched against a 2nd Stage Spirit Warrior.

"Greetings Junior Apprentice Sister. I am Niu Ge. 2nd Stage Spirit Warrior."

Yin Xiu felt that her lucky streak would end there. She was not at all confident in beating this sister. She could only bet all her energy in one move.

"I am Yin Xiu. 9th Stage Spirit Apprentice. Nice to meet you Senior Sister."

Yin Xiu brought her hand to her hip. Niu Ge's eyes narrowed. She knew that this was the move that had defeated all of Yin Xiu's opponents till now. Niu Ge also prepared her best move.

"Begin!"

Both Yin Xiu and Niu Ge unleashed their strongest attack moves.
