Chapter 13

I feel a slight pain in my wrist as I start to regain conciousness, the pain intensifies. I think my wrists were slit, I can feel blood flowing out of the cuts. I try to move but I'm bound hands and legs to a chair in a dark room and my mouth is stuffed with a clothe. well, i think it's a dark room, for all I know i could be anywhere. while I struggle with the chair I'm bound to, I hear a voice. it's getting closer to the room, I quickly pretend I'm still knocked out. the door opens up and they light a lantern, and i notice I'm not the only one in the room. there are four others, three of which are young girls, possibly under the ages of fifteen. the other one is an adult roachfolk, he's been beat up pretty badly.

I think these guys are part of a gang or mafia or something, while they're arguing they make mention of their boss wanting to examine the new product, just so you know they are looking at me while saying this so I know I'm f@#cked. one of them unties me from the chair and puts me on his shoulder, they also drag that beaten roach along. they take me to the back office where their boss is and upon entering the stench of rotting corpses violates my nose, this guy's office is filled with dead bodies, my stomach instantly feels like a whirlpool. the roach thug drops me on a chair in the office while they throw the beaten roach on the floor next to me, I can't help but wonder what he did to piss them off. the boss is walking up to me and I'm expecting one huge roach, but it's not, he's human or atleast from what I can gather he seems human.

he asks them who I am and they say I'm the girl he asked them to get from Kunu bar. he tells them I'm not the one and that they've f@#cked up, but they couldn't let me go now. he says I am a fine specimen that'd fetch a whole lot of money for him and they would have to put me to work with the others. my heart sink's, I can't think straight for a few seconds, could this actually be happening, am I going to be sold into slavery or even worse, prostitution. while I'm thinking of a way out he asks the thugs who the beaten roach is and they say he's a business owner who hasn't paid his dues for the past three months, I'm thinking their just going to rough him up a bit but then the boss says to kill him and though it comes as a shock to me how ruthless these guys are I don't really care. that is till they say his name's " Ozark brownbett ". brownbett, I'm familiar with that name, I recognize it from someone, then it hits me, this could be azzar's dad, the one who went missing. so he was just kidnapped by these guys, that even makes his situation more unbearable for me. the boss tells them to dispose of Ozar and to set me with the other girls saying they were already a few hours late for the auction house. one of the roach thugs takes Ozar to another room, I think they're going to unalive him there. the other thug takes to a separate room and there are alot of young girls in here. he makes mention of the fact that if any of us try to escape he will kill that person in the most gruesome way he knows of, coming from a thug roach I believe him and that's doing wonders for my confidence right now. as soon as he leaves I undo my restraint, the girls start begging that I don't leave them. I assure them that I won't be leaving anyone behind but I need to make sure the ugly roaches don't come after them again. they all stay quiet as I exit the room, I see the thug roach walking down the hall so I follow him. I think he's going to meet with the other roach so they can kill Ozar together, I sneak up behind him and in a fit of rage I punch him in the head so hard it caves in. I watch him twitch on the floor and I honestly wish he could get back up so I can do it again.

I quickly hide his body and I start to search for the room where Mr. Ozar is being held, it takes a while but I find it. but by the time I find the room the thug roach has already gotten a few licks in, though it could have been worse, I mean he could have been dead by the time I found the room. I quietly enter the room without him noticing and I sneak up behind him, I try to grab him from the back with a choke hold but he dodge's, boy are these guys quick on their feet. I'd hate to have been around before their " Genetic dilution ", I mean if he's this fast now how fast would they have been back then. he circles around me and pulls out a dagger, he plans to end this quickly. he tries to stab me but I dodge and throw a jab, he blocks it but I'm able to get the dagger away from him and throw it close to Ozar. while I'm struggling with this thug roach Ozar manages to free himself from his restraints and we tag team this sonuvab*tch, Ozar says to run away while we still can but I refuse since I promised the girls I would come back for them. after a little back and forth we head to the room they were held in only to find out that they've all been taken to the auction house. he tells me that we must hurry out of there before more thug roaches swarm us, so we run as fast as we can.
