The massive aircraft carrier had just emerged from the space channel, and its mere presence sent waves of fear through the onlookers.
As it floated in midair, it blocked out the sun, casting a massive shadow over everything below.
"It's like a Ford aircraft carrier, but it is obviously bigger! How could such a giant monster fly?" one of the G-Soldiers, a former military officer, exclaimed in disbelief.
He knew well that the largest flying object in human history was the super-transport aircraft used by the Soviet Union to carry the space shuttle. But that aircraft's takeoff weight was just a few hundred tons.
A 100,000-ton flying object seemed impossible, even inconceivable with today's technology.
The anti-gravity systems of science fiction completely contradicted modern scientific principles. As for traditional engines, no one knew what kind of airflow would be required to suspend such a massive aircraft.
