Without further wasting my time, I opened the envelope and brought out the precious letter within it.
I read through the letter as fast as I could, and my eyes widened as I read through the letter. Not stopping for once until I completed the reading.
I ran out of the parlour, past my husband, who was looking at me as if I'd gone crazy all of a sudden. I ran to Marli's door, and knocked on it, impatiently waiting for Marli to open the door to tell her the good news of the century.
"What…." Marli gave me a look, her eyes glueing to my over ecstatic face before it ran down my body. "I can see there's good news on the way." She smiled slyly, "out with it already."
"Can't you guess," I bounced? My happiness can make you feel as if you are on top of the world while, in truth, you are still on earth with us.
" I can't." She gave me a once over," you are easily excited, so I can't tell what exactly is making you happy."
" I got the letter of admissions!" I placed the said letter in her hands as I danced for joy.
" Oh my God!" Her eyes widened as she read through the letter. "Don't tell me I'm seeing exactly what I think I am." She blinked, rubbed her eyes a little, and returned her focus to the letter she has in hand.
"That's what you are seeing. Sly brought this back. He said the school sent it to me."
"Are you serious?"
"Of course I am! You don't know half of this, Marli, but I'm ecstatic!"
I feel like I'm dancing on cloud nine. My joy right now knew no bound at all. It's more like I'm flying without wings, floating without any sign of stopping.
"I'm happy for you, baby!" Marli shrieked.
"Someone needs to eat in peace!" Came the voice of my furious husband. " Can you take your little children's shouting somewhere else? Unlike you, I have something I'm doing."
" Oops, sorry." I took Marli's hand in mine, dragged her into her room, and shut the door.
And the main shouting began.
There's no way Sly will ever complain about this, as we are nowhere near him at this moment.

"You look lively today." Sezy said as he gave me a once over, "you have a happy glow to your body. Tell me, love, What's the secret?"
Like our normal hanging out time whenever we come for the weekly ball, Sezy and I spend our first hour together.
And thereafter, he goes over to his boyfriend who looks like he intends to leash my poor friend, while Thor comes to keep me company
"I don't know what you are talking about." I take a sip of my water.
You know, I tried alcohol two nights ago with Marli, and let's just say, I don't like the taste at all.
I seriously don't understand the reason people drink something as bitter as that. Not to talk of the water that gives an odd sensation to a person's throat.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about, Lys. I can see that in your body language." He nudged me, "I can't believe you are thinking of keeping a secret from your only best friend in this place."
His voice sounded dejected, "I should have known you don't consider me a friend like I thought we are."
Although I'm aware of the fact that Sezy is playing the guilty card just to make me spill, I told him nonetheless.
After all, I intended to tell him the good news. He deserves to know his best friend is just a step from attending the university he so badly wishes to attend.
"I got a letter for the admission exam of High Achievers university. "
"What?!" He screamed so loud he got attention from us.
Some patrons near us gave us looks so deadly, that they would have sent us to our early graves if care isn't taken at all.
I wave in apology before I turned to the culprit.
"Lower your voice."
"Sorry about that. I was just too happy, I couldn't contain my shock." He apologized, probably blushing like a mad man behind the ridiculous full face mask he has on.
"I know that feeling."
This was the same feeling that took over when I saw the Letter for the first time. It's still that feeling that made Marli and I go conduct a squealing and shocking Vigil.
Well, it was a vigil until Sly decided it was time for me to go to bed.
"You got an admission exam confirmation from High Achievers?" He asked once more.
" I did. I was also as surprised as you are when my… the letter was given to me."
In my happiness, I almost spilt the beans about my husband.
It's not as if I hate him or something like that, but I don't want him to overshadow here.
Everything I do gets overshadowed by him, that's why I don't want to mention him here. For fear, that he might spiritually take over my life.
"You are one lucky bastard. You know how many times I submitted my online form and the physical form, but haven't gotten a reply until today?"
"You applied to the school?"
"I did. It was the first school I tried out, but it didn't favour me. They didn't send the letter for admission exams, and neither did I hear anything from them." He sounded broken and dejected.
"I'm sorry about that." I lightly touch his shoulder.
I won't pretend that I don't know what he's talking about, since I've passed through the same feeling when I thought I won't get the letter of admission.
"Don't worry about that. It has been a long since it happened. I'm long over it."
"Had you gotten the admission, it would have been superb. What's to say we won't meet in real life?"
This would have been the highlight of my admission.
" We are still going to meet."
