Chapter 4: Mission Completed

Edward stood at the edge of the cave and slowly peered out with half of his head exposed. He found that outside, there were nearly hundreds of people standing at this moment, and they even had three armored vehicles loaded with heavy machine guns, all aimed at the cave exit because the cave had only one exit.

Seeing such firepower, Edward couldn't help but take a deep breath. Despite inheriting the legacy of a gunslinger, he was ultimately just an ordinary person. Faced with such terrifying firepower, Edward not only wasn't afraid but was instead excited, causing his adrenaline to surge, making his body tremble involuntarily.

"Everyone inside, come out immediately, or we will start bombing!" a voice outside the cave rang out, but Edward paid no attention and continued to observe. Eventually, he found a way to exploit their weakness.

Suddenly, Edward appeared at the cave entrance, pulled out his pistols, and aimed at the three armored vehicles. The first bullet pierced their fuel tanks, and the second bullet ignited the three tanks.

Because Edward fired so quickly, it wasn't until the tanks caught fire that the terrorists reacted. Instinctively, they began to move away from the vehicles.

Taking advantage of their distraction, Edward ran outside. As he ran, he continued to shoot, reload, and shoot again. In just over ten seconds, he had fired more than thirty shots, each one accurately hitting their heads.

Combined with the explosion of the armored vehicles, half of the hundreds of people were reduced in numbers. Moreover, due to the intense explosion, others were more or less injured. When they realized they needed to shoot back, Edward appeared again and continued shooting. In just three minutes, he had eliminated the remaining people.

At this moment, a figure dashed out of the cave. It was Tony Stark in his Mark 1 suit.

"You've taken care of all of them?" Tony looked surprised at the corpses strewn all over the ground. He couldn't fathom how one person could defeat so many.

"No, not yet. Shh..." Edward said softly, gesturing for silence to Tony. Then, closing his eyes, he slowly raised his gun and aimed in a certain direction.

Following the direction of the gun, Tony looked and under the moonlight saw a figure scrambling towards a truck. Before the person could start the vehicle, a gunshot rang out. A bullet pierced through the glass and precisely hit the person's head.

"HOLY SHHH!" Tony exclaimed in astonishment. He had never imagined someone could shoot with such precision.

"You guys can't even say my name right. How pathetic," Edward said with a smile. He was truly exhausted, not physically but mentally. To achieve such precision, he had to intensely amplify his sensory perceptions, using them to locate enemies and evade bullets in advance. It was almost like bullet time, but to achieve this, he had to be fully focused, which took a tremendous toll on his mental state.

"Are you okay? You look like you're about to keel over," Tony asked anxiously.

"I'm fine, just need a rest. There's food and water in the car. If you're hungry, help yourselves. Also, one more thing—hurry and inform your best friend to come pick you up." Edward found a spot and leaned against the wall, slowly sitting down.

Seeing this, Tony immediately had Hank and another person help Edward out of his heavy armor. Together, they searched the bodies and quickly found a cellphone. Tony took it, promptly contacting someone. After relaying their location, he hung up.

"You said Happy commissioned you for this?"

"Yes, Mr. Happy Hogan offered ten million dollars for me to rescue you and to personally deliver you to Miss Pepper Potts. This mission will only be considered complete then." Edward then pointed at Edward, "Also, since he assisted in your rescue, you need to help him by granting him American citizenship and ensuring his safe passage to New York. Any issues with that?"

Tony looked at Hank and said, "No problem. Although this kid isn't as smart as me, he did help me out a lot just now. Getting him American citizenship is simple enough. He can come back to America with me. How about you, Dr. Ho Yinsen?"

"I'll be leaving with you as well," said the other person, who could be considered one of Tony's mentors in life, Dr. Ho Yinsen.

Afterward, Hank brought down some canned food, biscuits, and clean water from the car. Seeing this, Dr. Ho Yinsen and Tony also approached. They started a small campfire and heated up the canned food while sitting together, eating biscuits, and drinking water.

Time passed, and the sound of helicopters echoed. The four looked up and saw four armed helicopters flying towards them. Tony quickly took out a flashlight and waved it. Soon, the helicopters landed about twenty meters away. A black military officer stepped down and hurried towards Tony.

Tony walked over to meet the officer. The officer looked at Tony's miserable appearance and chuckled, "Having fun?"

Tony chuckled and the officer patted his shoulder, saying, "Next time, come with me, alright?"

Then, they all returned together to the American base in the area. As they got off the plane, a woman in professional attire, her eyes red, looked at them.

"Hello, Miss Pepper Potts?"

"Hello, I'm Edward, or you can call me Ed Lee. I was commissioned by Mr. Happy Hogan to rescue Mr. Tony and deliver him personally to you. Now that my mission is complete, am I correct?" Edward asked Pepper.

"This is correct. Your mission is complete," Pepper replied.

"Good. Please sign here, Miss Pepper Potts." Edward flipped his hand, and a parchment scroll appeared in his hand. Everyone present was astonished because they remembered Edward didn't have anything in his hands just moments ago. He was dressed simply in a t-shirt and casual pants, seemingly with nowhere to conceal anything.

"Miss Pepper Potts?" Edward prompted as Pepper Potts was still stunned.

"Oh, right." Pepper quickly came to her senses and signed her name. As she finished signing, her name emitted an orange glow. Then, the parchment scroll burst into flames. Edward casually tossed it into the air, and the flames quickly consumed the scroll.

"Mr. Tony, please inform Mr. Happy Hogan to transfer ten million dollars into my account today. Otherwise, the consequences for him will be rather dire. Oh, and here's my business card if anyone needs to contact me." With that, Edward handed out business cards to everyone present, waved goodbye, and walked towards the base gate.

Just then, a gust of wind stirred up a cloud of yellow sand, obscuring everyone's vision. When the sand settled, they suddenly realized that Edward's figure had completely disappeared, leaving them questioning the reality.

Who is this youth who just appeared, saved Tony, produced a scroll from out of nowhere, burned it using magic, refused to elaborate how, and then just disappeared?

Unknown to them, he had already returned to the Hell's Kitchen office, where a gift box had appeared on the table. This was the system's extra reward for completing the mission.
