Chapter Ten (and announcement!)

Yasuharu's POV

It's been a few hours since Penny returned home, and a few minutes after Damien helped me to my room to have a nap, I hear yelling coming from the living room. I push myself up from the bed and walk towards the door and crack it open and peek out and watch the scene before me unfold.

"Who says I even want kids, Damien?!" Penny yells. I can feel his anger from meters away, but also a feeling that he's trying his best to keep down.

"It's only two kids Penny! What is so wrong with you?" Damien stands up and goes to walk over to the younger male, looking to hug him. He briefly pauses when Penny steps away, crossing his arms.

"Well I didn't agree to it! Your father convinced mine so I didn't have a choice!" He looks away, biting his lower lip as if regretting what he started, or perhaps something deeper.

"Why are you being so dramatic? You know full well you can't handle your dad's business when he gives it to you! Everyone knows it!" I flinch at the crack from Penny's neck as he twists it around so suddenly.

"Excuse me? I'm more capable than you'll ever be! The company has respect for me unlike you! You stormed in there acting like you owned the place and moved in and kicked me out!" He stomps his foot and glares up at him with no sign of mercy.

"I didn't kick you out!-"

"Yes, you did! I'm so sick of being a puppet just for the companies to mix together! I get nothing out of it other than having to look after two things I never wanted, and for what? Your family's stupid reputation-" My eyes widen as a loud slapping sound fills the house and everything grows silent. I open the door fully and step out, watching the blood drip down his cheek and to his shoes.

"Penny- I-" Damien stammers, going to grip Penny's arm and flinches when he slaps it away, tears leaving his eyes. Damien turns his eyes for a moment and they land on me. I can feel myself shaking with my eyes wide. "Yasu, go back to your room. . ." He steps towards me and I back away, stumbling inside and gulping. He tenses up again as he hears a door slam and turns to look at the front door. He rushes over to the kitchen window and runs out of the front door.

Penny just stands there in the room, silent as his cheek continues to drip, tears slowly crawling down his face. I feel my body loosen and I slowly walk over and look up at him, frustrated as I can't give him comfort.

"Let's get you back to your room, Yasu." He smiles down at me and I breathe in slightly, nodding silently and looking down. He takes my hand gently and pulls me to my room, locking the door behind him as we sit on my bed.
