"I've brought you a letter."
His hair was pulled back into a bun, his blue eyes piercing as ever. He'd just finished his daily training, the sign of perspiration still visible on his face. I noticed him sniffling in the air, then realized the mark on my neck. I haven't really told everyone that I'm now marked.
"Thank you, Jack."
I took the envelope from his hand and offered to make him some tea, which he quickly refused. He said the warriors were waiting for him, and that he needed to head back soon. I nodded, letting him go back to his training. I was then again left alone with the piles of paperwork in Luke's office, accompanied by the letter that had just arrived.
It's from Luke.
"Dear Violet,
It's only been two days, yet I've missed you greatly. I wonder if you miss me also? I'm doing fine here, though the men here smell like farts, and I could not bear to smell it any longer.
