Leaving the Academy 1

Derek: "it feels good to be back"

Francisca: "that's for you to say, after everything that happened during the gate raid, I don't feel like attending the Academy again"

Derek: "are you that afraid, sister, because if you are, then remember that I'm here to protect you"

Francisca: "what can you do, you only know how to think with your brawn and not your brain"

Derek: "well, it would be unfair if I have both the brains and the brawn as you won't have any as you are the brain and I am the brawn"

Freya: "keep it down both of you, I'm trying to meditate here"

Derek, Francisca and Freya had arrived at the Academy a day earlier and are currently seated in their class waiting for Athena and the other two.

Remembering that Freya was also here with them, Francisca went up to her and asked her what has been bothering her all this while.

Francisca: "Freya, I wanted to ask, do you have a strange mark appearing on your body after you advanced to Rank A"

Francisca asked because both she and Derek had a strange mark after they advanced to Rank A and they found it when they went home for the break.

Francisca's mark was of an opened book floating at the back of her left hand making her start to put on gloves to cover the mark as she did not want anyone to see it, not even her parents before she saw a similar yet different mark on Derek's, he's is of a strange symbol that surprisingly she understood what it meant.

Freya: "hmmm, if you are talking about this, then yeah, why did you ask"

Francisca looked at the mark on Freya's left hand and saw a pentagram circled with different elements in it.

Francisca: "when did you get this?"

Freya: "ummm, after we came back from the raid, it just appeared there, is there something wrong"

Francisca was stunted at how calm Freya was as she just explained what happened.

Francisca: "how can there be nothing wrong, we all have a mark on us which just magically appeared at the same place of our body and you are just casual about it"

Freya: "what do you want me to do, I had this mark for like two week now and that is a pretty long time to be shocked, surprised and also no body could ever help me with it, so I just let it be"

Francisca: "what do you mean nobody could help you with it"

Freya: "sigh, when I first saw it, I went to my father to ask if he knows anything about it, he just thought I was crazy as he couldn't see anything on my hand"

Freya explained.

Francisca: "so from what you are saying, nobody other than the bearer of the mark and another bearer can see the mark on our hands"

Freya: "pretty much so"

Derek: "guys, I think we should just wait for Lucifer and Eve, maybe we all may be able to figure it out together as the saying goes two heads are better than one, so I'm guessing five is better than three, right?"

Francisca and Freya just stared at Derek before they went back to what they were doing.

Derek: "sigh, and I was just trying to make a suggestion"

A few minutes later

Eve and Lucifer walked into the class and saw as how the three inside the class looked at them with intense gaze.

Eve: "why are you looking at us that way, is there something on our face?"

Eve asked the trio as Lucifer just ignored them and went to his seat when Derek turned to him.

"Dude, do you also have a mark on your left hand"

Lucifer looked at Derek and saw the strange symbol on his left hand which he naturally understood as it meant Strength.

Lucifer knew it had something to do with the embodiment thing, so he didn't bother to ask Friday as even if he asked Friday, she won't answer him, so he just left it as that.

Before Lucifer could answer Derek, Athena and the Dean came in.

The Dean did not have is usual smile and Lucifer knew it had something to do with Bart as the Dean might have known already that his brother was the one that was trying to kill them off, including his daughter, Freya.

Bruce: "Hello, I'm sorry for our incompetent which led to your lives being in danger, but we are trying our best to find the perpetrators behind it, so rest assured that we will not rest until they are caught"

The dean said after much consideration over the weeks, he knew that his brother was powerful and freakishly strong and with the support of the Bastion family, if he should tell the people that he was behind it, then there will be massive casualties and they can't afford that, so he had to take matters into his own hands, so he decided to keep Bart involvement a secret.

The Dean was brought out of his thought by Lucifer who raised his hands.

Bruce: "yes, what do you want to say?"

Lucifer: "I would like to apply for an early graduation and go get my defender's badge, after all, I've already passed the required rank to graduate, so I don't see the need to continue attending the Academy"

The whole class became silent when Lucifer said that.

Bruce: "I know you are strong, but I cannot allow to graduate this early, you still have a lot to learn from the Academy, so that's a no"

The dean said not wanting any of them to venture out on their own as they won't be protected by the Academy and his brother will not hold back anymore once he finds out about it.

"Actually, I too want to graduate early as I don't see the need to"

Everybody turned to look at who just spoke, even Lucifer was a little surprised as he did not expect her to be the one to suggest following him.

Bruce: "what did you just say, Freya"

Freya: "I said that I want to join him and graduate with him, as we already know what's there to know about how talents works and some other boring stuffs"

After saying that, Eve, Derek and Francisca also decided to join them.

Lucifer: "if this is about me graduating early, then you don't have to do all that"

Lucifer said to the four, because he didn't want them to pressure the Dean so that he might let them graduate together, as even if the dean refused him, he was going to leave the Academy either way, so he was not bother about that at all.

Eve: "it's not about you, it just that you are like a leader to us, as wherever you go, we will follow"

Lucifer: "you do know that I only led you once during the raid, so I don't see how I became a leader figure in your eyes"

The four didn't answer him and just turned to the dean for his answers.

Bruce: "I can't, I can't let the five of you leave the Academy ground, your lives are in danger and letting you leave the Academy is a death sentence to you, so I can't let you graduate early"

Bruce said as he will not let them endanger their lives especially not his daughter, Freya.

Lucifer: "I never wanted to do this, but I have to, I can't spend three years in the Academy, so I will have to leave on my own"

Bruce knowing what Lucifer intended to do spoke wanting to discourage him.

Bruce: "you can't drop out, if you do that, then you won't be able to get your defender badge and without it you can never be a defenderdefenders in your life"

Lucifer: "Frak the defender's badge, I don't it anyway"

Lucifer said as he walked towards the door but before he could walk pass the door he felt a slight restriction on him.

Bruce: "I can't let you walk away, Lucifer"
